After Gabriel left Derrick's office, Derrick sank back into his chair, thinking about his night escapades with Miranda.

"Oh, no. I was too hard on her," he thought, sighing.

As he was about to close up and leave his office, Derrick heard a knock on the door and replied, "Come in."

Alexa Godwin, wearing a black suit, nervously walked into Derrick's office. She had noticed that he arrived late and thought it was right to find out why.

"Good evening, Derrick," Alexa said, standing nervously across from him.

"Yes, what do you want?" Derrick asked, rubbing his jaw as he relaxed back in his office seat, looking at Alexa.

"Derrick, I didn't come here about work-related matters, but to check if you're alright," Alexa said, and Derrick sighed. Seeing Alexa, he felt guilty and couldn't explain his problem.

"I'm fine. It's just that I was stressed and woke up late this morning, but it's fine," Derrick said, offering a fake smile to Alexa that didn't reach his eyes.

"Okay. How about your mother?"
