124: Feeling at home

Miranda was tense in the sitting room after Derrick left her and went back to his room. She stood up from the chair and walked to his bedroom door to knock and beg him to release Erica from police custody.

Derrick stood on his bedroom balcony, gazing out at the estate premises when he saw Larry drive his car into the driveway and park it.

His fists clenched upon seeing that his elder sister had returned, and he moved back to his bedroom to welcome them since his afternoon nap had been interrupted.

However, as Derrick pulled his bedroom door open to exit the room, he met gazes with Miranda.

"Can we talk? Please, you shouldn't have arrested Erica. You should let her go," Miranda said as she stood nervously in front of Derrick, fidgeting with her fingers as she watched him pull his bedroom door open.

Derrick looked at Miranda's face, unsure of how to respond.

"Your fiancé is here to see you," he told her, watching her brows draw into a thin line.

"Who?" Miranda asked, and Derrick smiled,
