122: Cooling her cheek

"Hello, Austin. What is it?" Derrick asked as he picked up his ringing phone in the sitting room.

"The policemen have arrested Ms. Erica Harrison as you instructed," Austin relayed, and Derrick felt satisfied to hear that.

"That's fine. Get back to work," Derrick replied as he ended the call.

He turned to face Miranda, who looked away from him.

"You don't have to worry about the slap; it will subside," Miranda said, wanting to leave Derrick's sitting room as she felt jealous, thinking it was one of his female friends who had called him.

"You shouldn't be acting stubbornly, Miranda. I understand you don't want to forgive me, but you're here because of my mother. So you have to look good before her. Come and sit; let me help you ice your cheek. I won't bite," Derrick said with a smile, but Miranda frowned.

"I will do it by myself," she replied, walking up to him to collect the ice pack.
