Miranda had just finished having her dinner with her kids and Derrick, who kept looking at her face as he watched her eating. However, as she stood up to leave the living room and clear the plates to the kitchen, she still thought she was a maid in the mansion. Derrick stopped her, saying, "You don't have to worry about clearing the plates; the maids will come to do it."

"Oh, okay," Miranda replied, not looking up at Derrick's face as she stepped away from her chair and asked him, "When are we going to see your mother?"

"Do you want to go and see her now? Although all my elder sisters are there, I was thinking why not stay with us? Later, we can go and see her," Derrick said, meeting Miranda's disapproving look directed at him.

Miranda knew that she had switched off her phone because of Larry. She gulped and told Derrick, "I didn't plan to stay here until tomorrow. I just want to see your mother and for her to know that I care about her."
