Shannon’s POV

The silence in the hall was deafening. Everyone watched on, waiting for any of the brothers to say something while I wanted the ground to open up and swallow me.

I tried to move my legs but they wouldn’t budge. I was petrified beyond measure and it wasn’t only because of what had just happened, it was because I knew how this was going to end.

The Mayert triplets had spent the better part of six months trying to get rid of me by any means necessary and Melissa had served my head to them on a plate and I didn’t need any soothsayer to tell me what would happen after this.

“Are you being serious right now, Melissa?” Cole chuckled.

I shut my eyes as tears pooled in them. Only a miracle happening will change the next few minutes and deep down, I knew I was one of the most unluckiest people you would ever meet.

“She’s probably trying to mess with us,” Jules said this time around. “My best guess is that she’s in on it with everyone here.”
