Chapter 7 Interview

*DING BELL*

Serena, basking in the sun, was awakened by the ringing of her cell phone. In a daze, she picked up the call and mumbled, "Hello."

The voice on the other end introduced herself,"Excuse me, are you Serena H? I'm the HR of Infinity Realm Inc."

Her drowsiness vanished instantly, and she responded more alertly, "Yes, I'm Serena."

The voice on the other end continued with a polite tone, "I am honored to inform you that you have passed the company's preliminary examination. I would like to make an appointment for you to come to the company for an interview at 2pm this afternoon. Do you have time?"

Excitement surged through Serena as she replied eagerly, "Sure! I'll be on time!"

After hanging up, she quickly hailed a cab and headed to the interview location, not wanting to lose a second.

Arriving early, Serena waited for a while in the room where the interview was taking place, but was quickly led to the interviewer by a young woman.

"Serena, I've read your resume, so I'll get right to the point. You have the material in front of you, so please look at how you should approach it." the interviewer stated as they placed an antitrust lawsuit in front of Serena.

Serena was somewhat taken aback. Anyone who paid attention to business news would know that this was the lawsuit Infinity Realm was currently facing. The Department of Justice had filed an antitrust suit against them. It was a challenging case, and she hadn't anticipated it as an interview question.

The Department of Justice was arguing that Infinity Realm Inc. had been monopolizing the market by collaborating with and even offering incentives to major tech companies to ensure that their games and search pages were consistently featured on the front pages of browsers on major devices.

It was indeed a tough case to win.

Serena's lips curled into a slight smile as she briefly reviewed the information and responded without hesitation, "Infinity Realm Inc. does indeed dominate the market share, and that's an undeniable fact. However, our position is that this is a result of having superior products, not from questionable business practices."

"In this age of information abundance, users have the freedom to choose the products they prefer, and that's precisely what they did. We believe this is entirely in the interest of users and should be protected by any applicable laws."

Serena glanced up at the man in front of her and added with a subtle grin, "As for the bribery allegations, I believe that's baseless. Our side should not be compelled to self-incriminate."

The interviewer's eyes glistened for a moment. Serena's response was precisely what their legal department needed, and her final remark signaled that she had confidence in their company and wouldn't engage in any self-destructive actions.

His smile widened, displaying genuine amusement.

"For the second question, your resume is outstanding. I'm a bit curious why you didn't pursue a career as a lawyer and instead decided to join our company's legal department."

"That's easy." Serena answered with ease, "The outside world speaks highly of all of you, and the fact that you rarely lose is intriguing to me. I think working with such accomplished individuals would be the best choice."

The interviewer's smile immediately widened as he stood up and walked over to her, extending his hand and saying, "Serena, congratulations on passing the interview.”

Serena, though she answered every question with confidence, hadn't expected to actually get the opportunity, and with unspeakable excitement she shook the man's hand and said in a trembling voice, "Thank you, sir.”

On the cab ride home, Serena couldn't help smiling, the joy all over her face.

Infinity Realm's interviews were renowned for their intensity, and only the best of the best were considered. Graduates from prestigious schools competed desperately to secure a position there.

However, Serena wasn't just interested in the high salary; her real fascination was with the enigmatic mastermind behind the company.

He was a legendary figure, shrouded in mystery, and very few people knew his real name.

There were even rumors that he was the orchestrator behind a series of political scandals that had taken down major corporations, allowing Infinity Realm to rise to prominence.

All in all, whoever he wanted to die would definitely die on time, he was scarier than the devil.

Everyone else is afraid of him.

Serena, on the other hand, admires him. She wanted to know him, work for him, and ultimately, be like him. Now, she finally had the chance to get closer to him.

Ding-

Her reverie were interrupted by the ringing of her cell phone, it was Michelle.
