Chapter 125 The Real Reason

In the departing car, Serena turned her head to glance at the solitary figure, her lips curling in a mocking smirk.

However, Scarlett's gaze was fixed on Ida.

This girl lacked the feminine charm, exuding a strong and dignified aura.

"Serena, who is she?" Scarlett inquired.

"My bodyguard," Serena sighed, "It's a long story. Let's find a place to eat."

Jo overheard their conversation and quickly drove to the nearest restaurant.

Scarlett looked at Jo, then at Ida, her brow furrowing.

It seemed that a lot had happened to Serena.

After about half an hour of explanation, Serena lowered her head and took a sip of water, "That's how it is."

Scarlett looked at her with empathy. Serena had sacrificed her youth for her granny, Mary.

"Is that man good to you?" Scarlett asked. If even her husband didn't appreciate her, wouldn't life be too difficult?

"He's good to me," Serena thought of Matthew, of how he had saved her.

Her expression softened, "But he loves someone else."
