CHAPTER FOUR: Landon

Landon's POV

I felt her hands on my face. I didn't feel anything though. If you received continuous hate from the girls you have dumped, parang wala na lang sayo ang lahat.

The tall, petite girl in front of me is fueled by anger. Too much anger to the point that I could see the veins on her forehead. "How about the countless sex we've had? We basically did it everywhere!" She shouted.

I smirked at her, walked towards the bar and poured some whiskey on the glass. "I told you what kind of person I am before I entered myself down there." Tinuro ko ang bandang baba ng kanyang katawan with my eyes. "I actually felt so welcomed down there. I don't know what you're fussing about."

"And after that, iiwan mo lang ako!?" Then she threw me her one heel.

"Obviously." I replied calmly. "Aside from that, we were just fuck buddies. Nothing serious."

Then he threw me her another heel.

Kung mapula na siya kanina, mas pumula pa siya sa galit ngayon. Which is kind of sexy if you are going to ask me.

"You are such a dick!" She shouted before picking up her things.

Bago pa siya makalabas, "A huge one for that matter." Then I winked at her goodbye.

I don't have any idea why I'm like this. Mabilis mag sawa sa mga nakakasama kong babae. When I feel like it isn't thrilling anymore, I'll dump them without thinking twice.

Napalibot ako ng tingin sa aking unit. The bed was a disaster from last night and there are broken glasses everywhere because of that scandalous girl I just dumped.

"Phew. You're saying I have to clean this all? Skyler's waiting for me." I said.

And then I thought, I can always call someone to do things for me. And so I dialed someone.

"Are you the cleaning service from last time? Can you come by? Asap. I'll pay you ten thousand pesos for a single cleaning. Feel free to take as much alcohol you want from the bar too. Thank you."

Hindi pa naman nakakasagot ay binaba ko na ang tawag. I mean, sino ba naman ang tatanggi sa ten thousand pesos for hours of working in my flat?

"Skyler would be angry at me again." I said to myself.

I promised Skyler that we will go golfing this morning. He just wants to play because he misses me again. We've been buddies since fourth grade. I was also his best man on his wedding day.

Speaking of Skyler. He just rang my phone.

"Dude. I'm on my way, just wait." I said.

"You are two hours late already so I cancelled it." He sounds so disappointed.

"I know. Kasi naman--- there was this girl--"

He sushed me. "Don't talk about your girls, Landon. I'm with my wife. Baka akala eh katulad mo akong babaero at mag overthink siya nang mag overthink. Naaawa na ako sa asawa ko." Pakikiusap niya.

I chuckled. "Sorry, dude. I'll come by later after I shower. Babawi ako." Then I dropped the call.

Sa totoo lang, naiinggit na ako kay Landon. He married such a good and caring wife. It took many tries though. He was countlessly victimized by opportunist girls who are only in for his money.

Skyler owns the biggest car dealership in Asia. That is why he is stuffed for life.

Before leaving the unit, I did not forget to take some high end whiskey from the bar. Peace offering para sa inconvinience ko kaninang umaga. Onti na lang siguro ay red card na ko kay Skyler. Ilang beses ko nang natutulugan ang golf session sana naming dalawa.

Habang nagmamaneho, I busted the Weeknd's song on my speaker. It is pretty good and relaxing to listen to him-- gives throwback to steamy nights I had.

Entering the gated community where Skyler lives is pretty easy for me. Despite of their heavy security measures, they just opened the gate for me. Of course, I am THE Landon.

Skyler greeted me with an eye roll.

"What's with the eyes? Mas excited pa si Stacy na nandito ako kesa sa iyo." I leaned down to pet Stacy, Skyler's golden retriever. "Pangit talaga ng amo mo." I whispered.

"Nakakainit ka ng ulo. Ganda ganda ng panahon kanina and you ghosted me for a girl." Reklamo ni Skyler habang hinahanda ang lamesa.

Sakto namang bumaba na si Lemery. "Oo nga. Tapos idudump mo nanaman. Ganyan ka eh." Then she chuckled.

I went in to hug her and gave her a kiss on the cheeks. "Lemery, beautiful as always." I complimented her.

Skyler pulled her closer to give her a kiss. "Pag ang bulaklak araw-araw nadidiligan, it will glow." Agad naman siyang kinurot ni Lemery sa tagiliran dahil sa sinabi niya.

"I agree, dude. That's why I made a lot of girls glow up." I chuckled and Skyler went to give me a fist bump.

Lemery rolled her eyes. "Nako. Pag kayo talaga ang mag kasama puro ganyan ang topic ninyo." Lemery handed me a plate. She fiercely pointed the spoon and fork at me. "Huwag na huwag mong tuturuan ang asawa ko na mambabae, huh? Isisilid ko kayo sa drum." and then she gave me the spoon and fork.

Natawa na lang si Skyler. Kahit na gaganyan ganyan na overthinker si Lemery, Skyler told me that she still lets him do his own thing. Kaya nga masaya si Skyler sa relasyon niya.

After our lunch, we sat down in the living room. Just what I expected, Lemery confronted me.

"How's your mission?" She asked.

I swear, I can't really do my own thing private regarding this Miss Night thing. Lagi na lang akong hinihingan ng update ni Lemery.

"Well--" I took a deep breath. "I saw her--"

Before I could complete my sentence, she squealed and punched Skyler on his shoulder. "OMG! How is she? What do you think? She's very pretty, yes!?"

I slightly smiled and brushed my hand on the back of my neck. "She is. She is."

That girl is really pretty. I was impressed when I saw her at the store. She is one of a kind.

"I told you. Half Japanese kasi iyon kaya talagang napakaganda." Lemery looks so excited while praising her ex-bff.

"By the way, do we have news if your ex best friend already accepted the offer?" I asked.

Lemery slightly kicked my seat. "She's still my bestfriend. One and only. Kaya ko nga ginagawa to para magre-connect kami at makabawi ako sa kanya." She looks straight into my eyes. "You can tell me if you do not want to do this, Landon. I will find another one from Skyler's friends."

"No, no. I want to do this. I'm just scared that we're not going to click. Baka hindi kami maging katulad ninyong dalawa."

"You'll never know if you never try." She reminded me.

In the midst of our movie marathon, Skyler's phone dings which caught our attention.

Lemery paused the movie while Skyler went up to get his phone. He slowly scanned his phone and after that, he looked at us with confused eyes.

"Samsara Sakura is the girl, right?" He asked.

Lemery nodded.

Skyler showed us his screen and waved his phone. "She just reached out."

Never in my life a girl made me this nervous because of a text.
