Adriel's eyes widened in surprise, his face inches from Emma's. "What do you mean?" he asked, his voice low and husky.

Emma's smile grew wider. "I mean, your legs are fine. You are not crippled, are you?"

"What!" Adriel's eyes widened in shock. It seemed as if his eyeballs would fall out of the socket if he did not hold them in.

"What did you just say? How did you know I am not... Who are you?"

"I said your legs are fine and you are only pretending to be crippled. Don't get me wrong, I am not going to do anything funny with your secret. I have promised to keep between you and I."

"Really? Are you trying to argue with the one who is actually crippled that he is not?" he recovered himself and shoved what she had just said off.

How would she possibly know? It was just him and his personal assistant that knew that his legs were fine but he chose to remain on a wheelchair to feign weakness to his enemy who was hidden.
