Chapter 9

"Is everything alright?"

"Yes, it's just a business call. I am afraid I have to run along to the office now."

"I told you you would have to go back to your company to handle business, didn't I?" she said, chuckling.

"I will tell you about it when I get home."

"It's fine, you should run along now."

She watched as his driver helped him in the car. She returned to her restaurant only when his car was out of sight.

"I am sorry about earlier. It won't happen again. Please enjoy your food."

She apologized to her customers once more on behalf of Maya's behaviour.

The day was more hectic than usual for Emma. She had a lot of customers and deliveries to handle. Although she had people working for her, she was actively involved in the business herself.

It was noon and she decided to take a break when she noticed her phone ringing in her bag.

The call ended before she could pick it up. Checking through, there were five missed calls from her mom and two from her dad.
