Unfortunately, I got very sick in early 2023, and in October of 2023, I was diagnosed with multiple myeloma type cancer. I have finished chemo, and it is officially in remission (yay! thank the Lord). I will be updating soon, hopefully, as my energy returns. I want to finish my stories and continue others soooo badly, it is driving me crazy! I am soo sorry for the lack of updating, and keeping in touch. I hope everyone is well and I look forward to writing for you again soon. Please be patient and thank you for waiting on me, I promise to hurry!
The northern part of the west coast is known for its constant rain and gloomy weather, but the external conditions didn’t go unnoticed by the residents at the House of Stray, a mansion secluded on the outskirts of Oak Harbor, Washington. Other than when the full moon fought through the heavy rain clouds, they spent most of their days enjoying the comfy settings inside the home, avoiding the weather. The only resident to leave home daily, besides the butler they have kept for centuries, was Lascivious, the Alpha and oldest of 5 brothers. “Uhg, really?” the youngest brother, Amorous, whined when he peeked outside the window in the great room to see the massive droplets of water pinging at the window. He was the youngest born to a family of werewolves who’d kept their identity secret for several centuries. If you’ve heard of old money, this family came from something much older. “Yes, really. Now stop stalling and get going, or Libidi will arrive while you’re still standing here being
When Prurien changed into his wolf, the color of deep slate gray, and Tener finished his wolf, the color of Autumn straw, they took off into the raging wind and stabbing rain. The path they took from the back of the large mansion led straight from the kitchen to the woods. Prurien was fast, bounding over newly downed trees from the storm, while Tener followed close on his heels. They didn’t speak, but Tener trusted his older brother to lead the way.Heavy water droplets carried by the wind followed them like music notes cascading and falling before Prurien finally stopped.Breathing heavily, Tener’s lean wolf body caught up a second later and stood next to his brother.“We are close,” Prurien growled slightly, “but he’s not alone.”Tener stuck his nose in the air to smell the wind blowing around them.“Not alone? Did someone call the police, perhaps?”“I’m not sure, but the scent is different. I can smell his blood, but,” he took a few steps away from Tener, “it isn’t as strong as the
The dark gray clouds started thickening, Prurien noticed, and the rain came in puddles, punching at the vehicle.“Fine, let us hurry up.”The smell of ozone thickened in the air, making Johnathan sneeze while the two men again called on the ancient power of their wolf lineage. It only took a moment, and they were now ready.“Damnit, why didn’t you open the back hatch before you changed? Useless piece of,” Jonathan’s voice was interrupted by a heavy gust of wind, but he managed to yell above it as it pummeled him, “Next time, Lasci can deal with this bs!”“There shouldn’t be a next time, number one. Number two, how would you expect us to close the hatch?”“See this little cloth strap hanging inside at the bottom? What’s the point of you mutts having teeth if you don’t know how to use them? I’ve seen dogs in dog shows smarter than all of you!”Jonathan slammed the hatch shut and got back into the driver’s seat.“I don’t know what bothers me more, him calling us mutts or him watching dog
Tener noticed how frail and delicate she was when he scooped her up in his arms.Jonathan grabbed her bag off the floorboard and stuck it under his raincoat to keep it from getting wet.“Find out if she has any information, a contact, whatever. I’ll call them to meet her at the hospital once she is okay to go.”Jonathan nodded and followed Tener, who was still naked but didn’t think much of it as he carried the young woman’s body to the mansion’s entrance.Lascivious closed the doors of the SUV and got in to park it in the garage. There was a free space now, so Jonathan’s vehicle could occupy it for the time being. While Prurien had Amorous settled in the great room, Tener took the young female to the Alpha’s room.Jonathan quickly went to the medicine closet to get a few pain patches before following Tener upstairs. The demon opened the door to Lascivious’s room.“Think she will be okay here until we get a spare room ready?”“Oh, hell yes, I don’t think Lasci has ever touched a woman
Lascivious quickly ducked back into the bathroom and slammed the door. Pressing his ear against it, he listened, and there was no noise. Then, grabbing his phone, which he left on the bathroom counter, he quickly called Prurien. “Get up here, and I need help getting some clothes.” “Getting some clothes, why?” Lascivious started whispering, “The injured woman is awake. That’s why!” “Oh, but does that have to do with you needing clothes? Lasci, did you do something to her while she was asleep?” The oldest brother slammed his fist on the marble bathroom counter, “Just get up here, Pru, now!” He hung up the phone and continued listening. Finally, there was slight coughing, and he heard the woman’s soft voice. “Excuse me, hello?” “Keep your head covered. I’m coming out!” He heard her gasp as he started to turn the door handle, then something hard hit the door. “Don’t come out. Next is the lamp!” He took a deep breath and then spoke, “Look, lady, I am not going to k
Purity watched as Lasci left the bathroom and shut the door behind him. She let out a deep breath, trying not to cough again. She hurt everywhere. Looking around, she noticed how nice but cold the bathroom was, all black tile and grey accents. It looked nothing like the warmth of her grandmother's bathroom. Tears started falling from her eyes with the pain she felt in her body and heart, along with the regret of not making it to see her grandmother. She had left college immediately when the call came to the office from the hospital. Her grandmother had passed, and she was too busy trying to live her life. All she could remember was flying through the storm with her car, trying to get to the hospital. Purity’s grandmother raised her since she was a baby. Unfortunately, her parents had died in a horrible plane crash, and thankfully she was staying with her grandma at the time of the crash. Granny, what Purity had always called her, believed in eating cookies for dinner, staying u
Suddenly the pressure on her chest lessened. “There, you should have told me it unclasped in the back. Then, I wouldn’t have wasted time trying to find something to cut it!” She could tell he was frustrated again. “Sorry, I didn’t think about it. Thank you.” Turning, she realized he was on his knees facing her. He stared at her for a moment, and she licked her dry lips. The movement drew his eyes, and he quickly looked away as he stood up. “I’ll add some warm water to the tub. Why don’t you try freeing your left hand.” Purity couldn’t grab the bra with her hurt wrist and hand. “I need some help, I think.” “Why? Is your right hand broken or something?” She pulled it out from under the sheet and looked at it, “I’m not sure, but it hurts to move my wrist.” Lasci turned around and looked at her, “You aren’t sure? Fine, let me take a look.” She held her arm, and he grabbed her hand roughly, making her wince. “It’s swollen.” He let go gently. “Alright, turn around.” She hesi
Lasci watched the interaction between Dr. Fry and Purity, finding it amusing. “So, in two weeks, you’ll be back?” Dr. Fry turned to Lasci, “Yes, best I give her a clean bill of health then. For now, you boys need to watch over her and keep her from moving too much. Otherwise, that wrist and leg could get worse. I’ll give her something for the pain to help her sleep. She needs to take it and the antibiotic with food or at least milk.” Lasci nodded, “If she would sit still long enough, then it shouldn’t be an issue. Thanks, doc.” Dr. Fry nodded and waved goodbye before leaving the room. Once the door was closed, Lasci turned to Purity while she sat up across the end of the bed. “My brothers should be back soon with what you may need. Also, your bag from the accident is downstairs. I’ll have someone bring it up.” He turned to leave, but Purity’s response stopped him. “It’s empty. I was taking it to the hospital to grab my grandmother's things, but it’s too late. I am sure
