Lascivious quickly ducked back into the bathroom and slammed the door.
Pressing his ear against it, he listened, and there was no noise. Then, grabbing his phone, which he left on the bathroom counter, he quickly called Prurien.
“Get up here, and I need help getting some clothes.”
“Getting some clothes, why?”
Lascivious started whispering, “The injured woman is awake. That’s why!”
“Oh, but does that have to do with you needing clothes? Lasci, did you do something to her while she was asleep?”
The oldest brother slammed his fist on the marble bathroom counter, “Just get up here, Pru, now!”
He hung up the phone and continued listening. Finally, there was slight coughing, and he heard the woman’s soft voice.
“Excuse me, hello?”
“Keep your head covered. I’m coming out!”
He heard her gasp as he started to turn the door handle, then something hard hit the door.
“Don’t come out. Next is the lamp!”
He took a deep breath and then spoke, “Look, lady, I am not going to kill you, let alone lay a finger on you. However, I need to get my clothes, and unless you want to witness another chance of me being naked, I suggest you keep your head covered so I can get dressed!”
“I don’t believe you!”
Right at that moment, Prurien entered the room.
“Hey, whoa, set the lamp down, Miss. You’re injured. You shouldn’t be lifting anything right now. Let me get my brother some clothes, and then we can explain.”
Lascivious could hear the sound of the walk-in closet door opening and then a drawer from his dresser.
There was a light knock, and Lascivious cracked open the door slightly.
“Hear, I grabbed whatever my hand touched first.”
Lascivious took the bundle of clothes and slammed the door back in place.
Holding up the hoodie, he grimaced. It was the one Tener bought for him as a gag gift at Christmas. He almost decided to forgo the hoodie and only wear the house pants his brother grabbed, but he decided against it. He didn’t want the woman feeling any more threatened than she already was.
“I’m coming out, Pru, is she unarmed now?”
Prurien chuckled, “Yes, brother, she is quite harmless now.”
Lascivious opened the bathroom door slowly to see the young female backed into the far corner of his bed while Prurien leaned against the bedroom door.
“Who are you guys? Please don’t tell me you drugged me at a rest stop and plan on selling me off. Please don’t, my grandmother, look, she just passed away. I’m begging you, please.”
Lascivious watched as the quiet tears started streaming down her face, “You won’t fetch much a price if we sold you, not with a bruised lung and fractured leg. At least that’s what we know until the Dr. Gets here, so calm down.”
Her tears came in more significant streams, and she hid under the comforter, sobbing softly.
“What he means is, no, we didn’t drug and kidnap you, and no, we aren’t selling you to anyone. You were in an accident and lucky to be alive. So please calm down. We don’t know the extent of your injuries yet.”
Lascivious rolled his eyes. He didn’t need his brother to explain what he meant.
“What’s your name? Is there any family we can call to get you and take you to a hospital?”
The sobbing slowed, followed by a loud sniffle of the young woman’s nose.
“Purity. My grandmother was,” the female started to fight her sobbing before suddenly wailing and blowing her nose in the comforter, “all I had! And she’s gone! Waah!”
Her wailing made Lascivious cringe because his ears were sensitive to sounds.
“Okay, lady, that’s enough. We get the point. Once the doctor checks you over, we will figure out what to do with you.”
He looked at Prurien, looking at the woman with a sympathetic look, and headed for the bedroom door.
“Where are you going?”
Lascivious didn’t answer his brother and left the room.
Prurien chased him across the upstairs hall, “Are you just going to leave her alone?”
“Hey, I didn’t sign up to play babysitter to some injured female. I’m going to check on Amorous quickly and then give that damn doctor a call to see what’s taking him so long. Have Tener Johnathan left already?”
Prurien nodded, “They left immediately after coming back down.”
“Good, less chance of them causing more trouble with that female before I can get her out of here.”
Laughing, Prurien raised his eyebrow, “You seem to be doing that well enough on your own, Lasci. You made the poor dear cry!”
“I did nothing of the sort, and I clearly explained we weren’t there to hurt her. But when I told her I needed to get my clothes, she threw the damn alarm clock at the bathroom door! I’d say she’s the scary one!”
Prurien shook his head, “Alright, let’s check on Amorous, then call the doctor. Afterward, I’ll make some coffee.”
Lascivious opened Amorous’s door to find his brother sitting up in bed, playing video games.
“Guess you’re well enough to start working off the cost of the car you totaled?”
Amorous smiled cheekily, set his game control beside him, and gave a fake cough.
“I, uh, think I need a few days, and then I will do whatever you want me to, promise!”
Prurien stifled a laugh getting a warning look from Lascivious.
“I will tell you what. You can have two days, rest, and play video games. I won’t even ask you to shower. But after the two days, you will shower and come with me to work. I will find something easy for you to do, and you can get paid a regular salary, which I will take only half to put towards the cost of that car.”
The youngest wolf looked at his Alpha, not daring to argue, “Okay.”
“Good, oh, and you will stay away from that female. She is dangerous.”
Lascivious turned to leave, and Amorous gave Prurien a confused look. His second oldest brother just shook his head in warning.
Lascivious took a deep breath before opening the door to his room.
“Are you going back in?”
Lascivious nodded at Prurien, “I need my phone.”
He opened the door to find Purity lying on the floor halfway to the bathroom from the bed.
“What are you doing?” Lascivious asked her in shock, “If you need something from now on, just yell or ask!
He rushed over to help her back into bed, but her words stopped him when she replied, “I need to pee.”
The Alpha looked at his brother, lost on what to do but noticed Prurien eyeing her chest in the white bra.
“Are one of us going to help her?”
“Unfortunately, I’d say it’s your responsibility.”
Lascivious knew he had more experience with humans, but it wasn’t much. So he was alone in his office most days.
Growling and them mumbling, “Fine,” he walked over and scooped her up, carrying her to the bathroom.
“What, what are you doing?”
Her voice was hoarse, delicate from coughing, and her body felt small and frail. Lascivious was nervous he’d injure her from just holding her.
“Taking you to the bathroom.”
Purity started to fidget and then fight to get down, “No, I don’t want you to watch me go to the bathroom. It’s embarrassing.”
Her tiny voice only added to her femininity, and Lascivious stopped at the bathroom door, feeling the wolf inside of him stir.
He looked at her and realized her fair skin, with icy blue colored eyes, reminded him of how the sun hit the snow in an early morning frost. Her hair appeared matted with caked blood due to a scratch on her head, making him frown. The curve of her chest also captured his attention as it peeked past the sheet he had wrapped her in.
His brother spoke up, “What if he wears a blindfold? That way, he can help you, and you can still be safe from his looking at you.”
Lascivious turned and snarled loudly at Prurien, “You’re not helping. Why don’t YOU call the doctor instead of standing here giving advice.”
Prurien’s face showed he knew he was pushing the suggestions a bit far.
“Sure, if you need me, brother, I will be downstairs.”
Once Prurien was gone, Lascivious went into the bathroom and set Purity gently on the toilet.
“Look, you can manage using the toilet yourself, but you can’t manage a bath with an injured leg. So I will start the bath once you have finished using the toilet.”
He turned to leave the bathroom, and Purity asked, “What do I call you?”
Lascivious looked over his shoulder, “Just call me Lasci. Everyone does.”
Her giggle was like chimes in the spring breeze, he thought. He found it refreshing until she commented on his name.
“Like Lassie? The dog?”
Her giggle made her cough loudly, and he was frustrated suddenly with her more than before.
“See, that’s what you get for laughing. Yes, like Lassie, the dog.”
He practically stomped out, swearing under his breath, “Seriously, dog? I’ll show you a dog.”
Purity watched as Lasci left the bathroom and shut the door behind him. She let out a deep breath, trying not to cough again. She hurt everywhere. Looking around, she noticed how nice but cold the bathroom was, all black tile and grey accents. It looked nothing like the warmth of her grandmother's bathroom. Tears started falling from her eyes with the pain she felt in her body and heart, along with the regret of not making it to see her grandmother. She had left college immediately when the call came to the office from the hospital. Her grandmother had passed, and she was too busy trying to live her life. All she could remember was flying through the storm with her car, trying to get to the hospital. Purity’s grandmother raised her since she was a baby. Unfortunately, her parents had died in a horrible plane crash, and thankfully she was staying with her grandma at the time of the crash. Granny, what Purity had always called her, believed in eating cookies for dinner, staying u
Suddenly the pressure on her chest lessened. “There, you should have told me it unclasped in the back. Then, I wouldn’t have wasted time trying to find something to cut it!” She could tell he was frustrated again. “Sorry, I didn’t think about it. Thank you.” Turning, she realized he was on his knees facing her. He stared at her for a moment, and she licked her dry lips. The movement drew his eyes, and he quickly looked away as he stood up. “I’ll add some warm water to the tub. Why don’t you try freeing your left hand.” Purity couldn’t grab the bra with her hurt wrist and hand. “I need some help, I think.” “Why? Is your right hand broken or something?” She pulled it out from under the sheet and looked at it, “I’m not sure, but it hurts to move my wrist.” Lasci turned around and looked at her, “You aren’t sure? Fine, let me take a look.” She held her arm, and he grabbed her hand roughly, making her wince. “It’s swollen.” He let go gently. “Alright, turn around.” She hesi
Lasci watched the interaction between Dr. Fry and Purity, finding it amusing. “So, in two weeks, you’ll be back?” Dr. Fry turned to Lasci, “Yes, best I give her a clean bill of health then. For now, you boys need to watch over her and keep her from moving too much. Otherwise, that wrist and leg could get worse. I’ll give her something for the pain to help her sleep. She needs to take it and the antibiotic with food or at least milk.” Lasci nodded, “If she would sit still long enough, then it shouldn’t be an issue. Thanks, doc.” Dr. Fry nodded and waved goodbye before leaving the room. Once the door was closed, Lasci turned to Purity while she sat up across the end of the bed. “My brothers should be back soon with what you may need. Also, your bag from the accident is downstairs. I’ll have someone bring it up.” He turned to leave, but Purity’s response stopped him. “It’s empty. I was taking it to the hospital to grab my grandmother's things, but it’s too late. I am sure
Lasci ran up the stairs with the bag of stuff for Purity while both brothers snickered at his frustration. “Pru, tell Johnathan to bring up a tray of apples and some tea. The female’s medication is on the counter by the fridge. She will need that,” Lasci yelled over his shoulder. His brother nodded and went to the kitchen, followed by Libidi. The Alpha opened his bedroom door and found Purity asleep. Looking around, he didn’t see anything out of order in the room until the floor-length, thick grey curtain moved gently at the balcony door on the other side of the bed. “What the hell,” he whispered loudly and then looked over at Purity, worrying he woke her. She only shifted slightly, staying asleep. He walked over slowly, gently setting the bag of items at the end of the bed, and grabbed the curtain before pulling it aside. One of the wood-framed glass doors was swaying ajar, its hook dangling. The mansion was old, so all three balconies on the home had the old-fashioned hook a
Sitting at the head of their long dinner table, Lasci waited for his brothers to calm down. Johnathan had set the dinner table with several different dishes, and the brothers had their drink of choice. The conversations finally all reduced to a murmur, and Lasci could speak. “Now that it is quiet let me just say,” Lasci stood, his usual slick-backed black hair hanging loose, framing his golden-tinged brown eyes, “Now that our brother is home, we are complete. Libidi, it took four years for you to come back again, and you have appeared to come back a stronger, more mature wolf. Welcome home, brother!” Everyone yelled out, practically howling in celebration, and a few were even wearing the party hats Tener had insisted on adding to the party. Lasci’s brother Libidi smiled and raised his beer in acknowledgment, “It's great to be home, and first, I want to say thanks for all the support this family has given. I missed everyone one of you because, well, I’m sure I did for some reas
With one hand on the headboard and the other one by her head, holding him up, Lasci took a slow deep breath through his nose. Her scent filled his mind and intoxicated him. He somehow landed his hips between her legs and could feel the heat reach his groin through the lounge pants. She started to wiggle, “Um, I can’t move, please. You’re a bit heavy, sorry.” Wiggling more to the side, she accidentally rubbed the soft mound between her legs against the growing hardness between his, making Lasci’s wolf cry out in his mind, wanting to mate, to mark her. “Don’t, just don't move, stop wiggling,” he breathed out, unsure what was coming over him. The feeling of taking her, almost devouring every inch of her with his body, started running through his imagination. Purity kept trying to move out from underneath him, “I’m sorry, just let me, um,” her words were breathy, making his heart race with desire even more. “I SAID DON’T MOVE, OR SO HELP ME, WOMAN, I WON'T STOP ONCE I START” He f
Sleep did not come easy for Lasci or Purity. As one tossed, the other turned, both with thoughts on their minds. Lasci felt his mind should be focused on safeguarding the home now that an unknown stranger had entered their territory and threatened him. He was never one to act rashly when it came to threats. Lasci’s loss of control could occur from what lay in his bed. A female. Wolf or not, he couldn’t shake the urge to take her and touch the body hidden by the long shirt she was wearing. He noticed the bag of items Johnathan purchased was still untouched, so thoughts of her without underwear worsened. Turning, he couldn’t see above the bed. Thinking that maybe if he looked at Purity once more before bed, he could be satisfied and move on, but as Lasci was about to sit up, he heard her voice. “Grandma, I’m sorry, so, so sorry, please don’t go yet, Grandma, please wait for me. I’m sorry!” Her voice, barely above a whisper, cried out for the grandmother she had mentioned. Lasci ju
Both of them had managed to fall asleep, but morning came early for Lasci. Waking up stiff, he stretched as he sat up. Then, looking over at Purity, seeing her still asleep, he quietly got up and left the room. He needed to get some work done, and Purity was too distracting, so he decided to talk to Pru instead. Going downstairs, he could smell bacon, sausage, and ham steaks being cooked. When feeding wolves, the local pig farmers stayed in business. “Well, look who’s up bright and early. I’d ask how you slept, but I don’t really care,” Johnathan said to Lasci as he entered the kitchen. “About time you did something around here. You and Tener left a mess for Pru to clean up last night.” Johnathan sighed, “Yes, I’ve already had a tongue lashing from the second in command. Too bad it’s not the desirable kind.” Lasci rolled his eyes at the butler as he grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge and eyed the bacon sitting in a dish before stealing one. “Speaking of the second, where’
Unfortunately, I got very sick in early 2023, and in October of 2023, I was diagnosed with multiple myeloma type cancer. I have finished chemo, and it is officially in remission (yay! thank the Lord). I will be updating soon, hopefully, as my energy returns. I want to finish my stories and continue others soooo badly, it is driving me crazy! I am soo sorry for the lack of updating, and keeping in touch. I hope everyone is well and I look forward to writing for you again soon. Please be patient and thank you for waiting on me, I promise to hurry!
It was Tener. Standing there with one hand holding the towel closed and the other on the stall, he looked at her with deep blue eyes. Water was dripping from his tawny hair plastered along the side of a very trim, muscular arm. She could see the muscles on his stomach rippling south below the towel. Letting out a loud squeak, Purity turned, hiding her face, “TENER! This is the women's shower!” He didn't respond, but she could feel the burn of his gaze on her naked backside. At that point, the shower sound was muted because she clearly heard the slip and drop of his towel. “What are you doing?” she asked, still hiding her face, not daring to turn around. Suddenly warm, gentle hands slipped up her waist and beneath her arms before gently cupping her full breasts. “Shhh, don’t move…,” he said, pressing his hardness against her backside and leaning to her ear. Purity was stuck. She didn’t want this, even as she protested, but something in her made her stay still and not resist, “Te
Johnathan's laughter rang through the phone as Lasci started to undress to ready his wolf, "What's so funny?" he asked, kicking off his shoes. "A moment, please, let me gather myself," Johnathan said, trying to calm the laughter, "You have no need to rush out as if saving the day, Lasci. The shifter is harmless. We've already had a nice chat over the phone, and as for Purity, I will say she's enjoying her dominance over Tener. I brought them to the gym for some blood-pumping exercise and discipline. It turns out our Purity is quite the little fox when it comes to handling your brother. She has had him on his back several times after learning only a few moves. I admire her capabilities, to be honest." Lasci took a deep breath and leaned against the wall in the foyer, "You took them to the gym, for a date?" "Yes, why? It's perfectly normal, and it allows them to be close physically. Is there something wrong with that, Lasci?" As much as Lasci wanted to yell into the phone, "YES
Bastian smirked, “Thought you’d find that worth staying in my company for a moment. After your bad form toward my love, everyone left the dinner table. So, eventually, I found myself waiting on her balcony with no intention of eavesdropping. But, mind you, it just happened that way. I must have caught the tail end of something because one minute, they were talking about your nasty declaration, and the next, the female wolf was attempting to open the balcony door. I was about to hide myself when your brother, Pru, came in the bedroom door and caught her attempting to leave.” Lasci shook his head, irritated, “You’re telling me something I already know, Bastian. Get on with it, or I’ll lose my patience.” Bastian smiled innocently, “I’m getting there, be patient. Now, where was I? Oh yes, her leaving and your brother coming in. So they had exchanged a few words, and the female wolf left.” Bastian acted like that was the end of it, and Lasci snapped, “You’re wasting my time.” “
Lasci paced the floor, his mind on edge about Purity and everything he said the night before. Now that Fahal had left, he was worried Purity might hate him even more. The front door opened, breaking his thoughts when Pru came in. “Any luck?” Prus shook his head, “Nothing. She’s either covered her trail perfectly or had help.” Running his hands desperately through his hair Lasci swore, “Fuck, I bet that vampire helped her. Where is he?” “I haven’t seen him since dinner last night. It’s possible he helped her leave, but we can’t be certain. If the female wolf was here, in fact, looking for a mate, I doubt she would have left regardless of what the situation was. Not all of us will be mated to Purity, so she had a chance. If you ask me, I think she was just looking for a place to hide before moving on. Refuge, in a manner of speaking.” Lasci nodded in agreement but still felt uneasy about it, “What do you think we should tell Purity? 'Her newfound companion just up and left b
Purity watched as Johnathan threw a wave out the van’s window and drove off. She was nervous about being left in Tener’s care but decided she could fend for herself by turning away from him and heading straight into the kitty café. Small mews from the kittens in a small enclosed sitting area reached her ears, and the smell of baked goods and tea filled her nose. A standing sign greeted her and read, “Find your seat, lift your feet, and get cozy. Our fluffy friends will find their way to you. They are well behaved and will let you enjoy your meal in peace (All cooked breakfast is chef’s choice, baked items are created fresh every morning.).” Purity giggled because at that moment, a large, short-haired tabby rubbed against her legs and meowed loudly, demanding attention. “Awe, aren’t you precious? Come here, big guy,” Purity cooed as she picked up the tabby to cuddle him. “Welcome! Sit anywhere you’d like, and I’ll be with you shortly,” a cheery male voice said from behind a high d
Walking over to the kitchen window, Lasci peeked through the blinds. Only blackness looked back at him with the occasional light display from the storm that stayed in the clouds. He wasn’t worried about Fahla but about how Purity would take the news that the female wolf had left. At dinner, he couldn’t help noticing the easy conversation between them and the laughter coming from Purity. They appeared to be close in such a short amount of time. It was the same with his brothers, too. She could talk comfortably with them and joke about things. So why did he always feel outside her circle, like a stranger sometimes? Purity lay in bed with her eyes closed while the morning light tickled her lashes. She didn’t dream but a tiny bit about Lasci. Recalling it, she could remember the feeling, and the images remained of them both staring across from each other, standing on opposite sides of a small creek. There were urban displays of everyday human life behind Purity, and behind Lasci wa
Pru ran to the balcony and was sure he caught sight of her for only a moment before she disappeared along the dark tree line. Going back inside quickly, he shut the door as quietly as possible, seeing Purity was still asleep. Walking fast, he left the room to run down the stairs and chase after Fahla. But he stopped, suddenly hesitant. Pru knew if the female wolf wanted to stay, she would have. He couldn’t understand why she’d left, but what was even more confusing was how she managed to jump down off the balcony when that was something even he couldn’t do without almost injuring himself. Of course, Lasci had jumped off his own balcony a few times in wolf form, but Lasci was an Alpha, so it was understandable. “Is Fahla a true Alpha female?” Pru wondered to himself. “Are they asleep?” Lasci asked, coming from the great room and looking up the stairs at Pru. Pru nodded, “Well, Purity is, but the female wolf is gone.” “Gone? Gone where?” Pru shook his head, “No clue Lasci.
Everyone had managed to sit down for dinner, but it wasn’t the usually pleasant and funny atmosphere. Libidi still held a grudge against Fahla, and Lasci was unhappy initially. Purity tried smoothing things over, but none of the brothers or Bastian seemed comfortable. Finally, after an argument with Lasci, causing him to get up from the dinner table and leave, Purity lost her appetite and invited Fahla to stay in her bedroom for the night. “Ignore him. He’ll get over it,” Purity said, referring to Lasci and slamming her bedroom door after Fahal made her way in. The female wolf laughed in amusement, “You’re impressive, kid. Every Alpha I’d ever come across wouldn’t just sit there and argue before finally pouting and leaving the room.” Purity laughed nervously, “Yeah, well, I'm sure he’ll make me pay for it later. But I don’t care. He had no right saying that.” Purity plopped on her bed, and Fahla jumped up on the creamy pink sofa across from her and lay down, “He’s right, tho
