Confession?

As the sun rises, it was another normal day for Chloe. She woke up earlier to start the day right. She brushed her teeth, combed her hair, and did all other activities in a normal morning routine. Her habitual action of going to work early has made her very productive. All smiles to her customers like it was a happy day. However…

Is she being creepy or just trying to come up with plans to annoy me again? Chloe thought to herself as she was looking at Remi who kept staring at her in the corner. Ever since yesterday, Remi couldn’t understand herself. She went to school late. Even though the students keep on bugging her to spend time with them, Remi never gave them the attention. The teachers got worried but they approached Remi or even bothered to ask since she is a top student, they thought it was normal to have a burn-out.

Remi immediately went to the cafe to confirm her feelings. She didn’t annoy Chloe for the time being to have full focus. In her perspective, she was just looking like an average human being but she was confused to see Chloe glaring at her for staring, Why is she looking at me like she wants to stab me? Remi still remain behaved and drank her coffee until Scarlet arrived.

“Hey, Chloe! Can I order the usual?” Scarlet waved at Chloe with a smile.

Chloe was happy since she also made a new friend other than Remi. She waved back at her with a smile too and said, “ Hey Scarlet! Coming right up.”

As Scarlet was walking towards the counter, she took a glance at the ‘staring Remi’. She got so creep out with Remi’s weird look at Chloe, “What’s wrong with her?”

“I have no idea or whatsoever,” Chloe said as she gave out the change to Scarlet. She didn’t pay any attention to Remi and went to the manager’s office since he was calling her.

Scarlet smirked and looked at them both back and forth, “Hmm.” She grabbed Chloe’s hand and stopped her for a second and asked, “Hey, I’m curious, do you have a boyfriend at the moment?”

“Boy best friend? Yea.” Chloe puts up an innocent smile as she said that.

Scarlet was caught in confusion and laughed, “Pft, HAHAHA. No! Stop making excuses.” She tried to confirm once more if Chloe does have a boyfriend. Scarlet was intrigued by them and thought, If my assumptions are correct, Remi already realized her feelings.

Despite Chloe’s angelic face, she wasn’t all that innocent. After all, she saw them trashing the mayor’s mansion just a few weeks ago so she wasn’t surprised, “HAHAHA, I’m kidding. Nah. I really have no plans.” She confidently said with her heart that she will give her life to working. The vow of marrying work is far more important for her than any kind of relationship.

“Oh?” Scarlet lets go of her hand and smiled at Chloe again. This time, it was a smile that kept on going for a few seconds. Chloe also retains her smile at Scarlet to show her how much her words mean to her. Meanwhile, Remi was looking at them and wondered, What are those two talking so happily?

Scarlet pointed at Remi’s seat and said to Chloe so that they can stop smiling at each other, “Now then, I shall have my drink served there.”

As Scarlet walked towards Remi and Chloe went to the manager’s office, Remi was back with the face that says Scarlet don’t even try to make fun of me today, “What are you doing here?” Remi asked.

“Can’t I just have a drink here like a normal person?” Scarlet has a point where Remi can’t refuse. That is what makes Remi so annoyed by her. “No.”, Remi said with a straight-up face.

Scarlet had a long sigh and said, “Wow, how cold.” Chloe went back to the counter and gets back to work. Scarlet had a sinister smile as she looks at Remi while pointing at Chloe’s counter to give Remi a hint that she’s in love. Suddenly, Chloe walked towards them with Scarlet’s drink without them knowing.

“Here’s your drink Scarlet.” Chloe smiles at Scarlet as she said that while putting the drink down. Remi sipped her drink fast and crushed her cup slowly as she watches them smiling and gazing at each other’s eyes, why is she smiling so cute at her? Out of the blue, Remi said with no particular reason, “Chloe! You have something in your face.” She points at Chloe’s face and moves her finger around so that Chloe won’t know where she was pointing.

Chloe touches her cheek gently and said, “Do I, Ms. Remi?”

Remi was bothered by Chloe saying Scarlet’s name casually and she clenched her teeth and got very annoyed, “Tsk. Just call me by my name from now on. Here… “ Scarlet almost spits out her drink when she heard Remi and holds her laughter by covering her mouth and calming her heart.

Remi stood up and leaned her face towards Chloe as her face was slowly getting redder by the minute.

Chloe got anxious and got nervous, “Haa?” Chloe thought to herself, Does she have a fever? She looks like a tomato.

Suddenly, Remi puts her whole hand right at Chloe’s face, “Ahh I think I just saw your ugly face that kinda bothered me. Should we fix it?” Chloe instantly got irritated and slaps Remi’s hands. Remi was shocked at that moment, she didn’t realize what she said until she got slapped by Chloe. Remi got paralyzed by Chloe’s actions.

So she just wanna bully me again! Chloe got serious and said outright to Remi, “Ms. Remi. I think you have to check your eyes first or check yourself at the mirror before you spout something that describes yourself.” and she smiles. In Remi’s eyes, Chloe’s sarcastic smile was the death of her.

Scarlet couldn’t hold it in for much longer and burst out laughing, “Pft. HAHAHHAHAHAHAHA Remi I almost feel sorry for you.” Remi turned into a helpless puppy and was begging for forgiveness but she was super annoyed by Scarlet and Chloe doesn’t seem to want to forgive so she smirked and said, “ I see. So this is how you treat your customers? Maybe I should call the manager.”

Chloe didn’t back down and got more irritated, “Oh, I’m sorry Ms. Remi. Did the truth coming from my mouth actually hurt you?” Hmph, I won’t get defeated that easily. Chloe seems to have an idea to embarrass Remi more so she continued, “ If that’s the case…” Chloe suddenly knelt down in front of Remi. She bows her head and said, “I am very sorry….”

Remi got beet red from embarrassment. All of the customers are looking at them and felt sorry for Chloe. “W-what the heck are you doing? Remi stuttered.

“Oh dear, is she bullying the poor cashier? Does she know no sympathy for the girl? Is she jealous because she’s pretty?” a customer whispered loudly

“That’s not right…” another customer added.

All of the customers in the cafe started gossiping and Remi has no words to say with such embarrassment.

“Oi oi now Remi…” Scarlet pats at Remi’s back and tries to hold her laughter once more.

Remi had no choice so she walked out from the cafe, “ Shut up! Tsk. I’m outta here.”

Scarlet tried to stop and Remi. At the same time, she was glancing at Chloe so that she could comfort her as well, “Oi Remi! Hey Chloe, are you okay?”. Her head was looking back and forth at the both of them but she decided to stay at the cafe.

Chloe got disappointed in Remi. She stands up and stretches from the exhaustion of kneeling down for so long, “Nah, I’m fine. Just trying to teach her a lesson.” she said to Scarlet.

Scarlet was feeling bad about Chloe and said, “Haa- I’ll chase after her and tell her to apologize.” for the first time in her life, she got nervous about what happened because she thought it was all a joke.

Chloe turns her back at Scarlet and said, “ It’s fine. You should go now.” She waved goodbye at Scarlet and continued her job.

Scarlet then, rushed out of the cafe and chased after Remi. She wouldn’t go that far. How could this happen? Luckily, she saw Remi crouching on the sidewalks going home, “Oi Remi! Just stop for a sec.” She caught up to her and grabbed her wrist. Scarlet tried to catch her and breath and said, “What’s wrong with you? Did you hit your head? Why’d you have to say it like that to Chloe?” Scarlet knew how Remi loved to pick on Chloe but she was out of the line.

Remi turns her head to avoid making eye contact and replied, “Tsk. I don’t know. I don’t care. I’m not going back there anymore.”

Scarlet saw Remi’s redden ears and came to a conclusion, “Hooo- Are you?…” Scarlet smirked and there was total silence for a few seconds. Scarlet continued, “In love with Chloe?”

Remi abruptly lets her hand go of Scarlet and got her face so red, “I- HAAAA? Noo, I mean- It’s just-” Remi hesitated to speak more.

Scarlet crossed her arms and nods. She took out her nerdy glasses and puts them on and said, “Now, my deductions have to lead me to the truth, finally.”

Remi got confused and asked, “What?”

Scarlet acted like Sherlock Holmes who solved the mystery, “Based on your actions, it’s clear enough that you fell for Ms. Chloe. “

Remi immediately covered her face so that Scarlet won’t see how much of a loser she is when it comes to love and tried to deny, “Noo- I- It’s because she saw us that night. I’m trying to protect our reputation Scarlet!” she yelled at her.

Scarlet didn’t faze and sighed, “Yea, sure. Keep on denying it.” Remi blushed and seemed like she can’t utter the words from her mouth, “I-” Remi got on her knees and felt weak.

Scarlet smiled at her, adjusted her position to hers, and said, “Don’t say no more. But you gonna go back there and apologize to Chloe. You’ve been bothering her that it distracts her from doing her work. And stop being a wussy! Dumbass!” She slaps her back to give her a push, “I know we stopped hanging out at night because of that but…Just tell her how you feel, she’ll understand.” Remi calmed herself down and smiled back at Scarlet remembering their childhood. Despite being annoyed by Scarlet most of the time, she always got Remi’s back.

Remi went back to her usual self, “ Hmm… Tsk.” Remi then runs off back to the cafe leaving Scarlet on the sidewalk. Scarlet waves goodbye and thought, Well love makes you do stupid things I guess, she looks up to the sky admiring it, “ Haa-  Why does it have to be her?”

As Remi was running back, she had mixed thoughts, do I really have feelings for her? Tsk. I have to give this some thought. Should I confess?

As soon as Remi arrived, she slammed the entrance door and went in, “Chloe! Later after your shift! I’ll be waiting out here.” She yelled as she looked at Chloe who is delivering some drinks with a serious face. Chloe had no choice but to agree and had a long sigh once again with the head waitress.

Chloe was working hard until her shift ended.

“Thank you for your hard work!”

Chloe went out and saw Remi waiting and crouching beside the cafe. As Remi saw Chloe, she stood up and pulled her to a corner where no one can see them.

Chloe crossed her arms and said, “Well? What do you want to say to me?”

Remi soon blushed again, “Umm I-”

For some reason, Chloe got nervous as well with the atmosphere they are having.

After a few minutes of total silence….

Remi bows her head and stuttered, “ I- I am so sorry for what I said earlier. I was really out of the line. I know that I was being so annoying to you and I was really observing you so that you could keep your mouth shut but still I was in the wrong. I- I really hope we could be good friends from now on.”

Chloe widen her eyes and laughed, “Pft. HAHAHHA. I never knew you have this side Remi.” She holds out her hand to Remi for a handshake and smiled, “ I hope we could be good friends.”

They shook hands and left, as Remi was walking back home she thought, I was really happy that she forgave but why do I feel so bothered by what I said.

The next day, it was a hot sunny day. Remi and Scarlet are chilling looking at the classroom’s windows before classes start.

“So.. did you?” Scarlet asked while fanning herself.

“I think you’re right.”

“In what exactly?” Scarlet looked bored as she said that.

“I think I do have feelings for Chloe,” Remi said with a straight face.

“Hmph.” Scarlet was at a loss for words but then she smirked and puts on her glasses again, “I’m a love master.” she said proudly.

“But…” Remi got worried.

“But??” Scarlet looked at Remi’s expression. So she could have a face like that, she thought to herself.

“ I told her that I want to be good friends with her,” Remi said.

“.…” Scarlet opened her mouth shockingly and was about to be entered by flies.

Remi sighs with regret.

“Idiot,” Scarlet said and went back to fanning herself.

Meanwhile, Chloe was doing her work happily in the cafe while Remi grieves with regrets and Scarlet gave her love master skills a 0.1% achievement rate with disappointment.
