331. The Complexities Were Odd

Heidi and Lucas came to an abrupt stop.

They exchanged glances.

Luckily, the couple was making out, so they quietly walked past them without them noticing.

Standing inside the elevator, Heidi fanned herself with both hands. “I couldn't feel the beating of my heart a moment there. That was close.”

Lucas circled his arm around her protectively. His eyes reflected the expression on her face. “Bringing you out here was a bad idea.”

No. It wasn't really.

But Heidi couldn't find a stand to refute his words. Every time they came out, they always bumped into someone they knew.

First was the cemetery and now the cinema.

Maybe he was right.

But Zach and Kate.

The thought of the couple consumed her mind so much that she ignored Lucas's strange behavior.

He made the bodyguards take her home, while he took a separate car out of the cinema.

For the rest of the afternoon, Heidi sat in the living room, half-reclining on the couch with a hand supporting one of her cheeks.

Lucas had to be wrong.
