334. Left Again

The genuine words he spoke and the smile in his eyes were enough to convince Heidi that Lucas wasn't bluffing.

She averted her gaze, breaking eye contact.

As long as she was happy. Would he do anything for her happiness?

Heidi stood up, heading to the stairs.

“You haven't finished your food yet,” Lucas called out.

Heidi stopped and shook her head. “I'm full.”

She resumed walking at a faster pace. When she got to the bedroom, she leaned her back against the door, her heart thumping with an unsteady rhythm.

She sat on the bed, drowning in the pool of her thoughts.

No doubt, Lucas followed her to the bedroom.

He leaned by the door frame, cautious not to enter, fearing to tick her off. “What's wrong? Are you angry?”

She wasn't angry, sad or confused.

Heidi couldn't point fingers at what she was even feeling which was strange.

Lucas hesitated by the door before he entered the room and sat beside her. “Heidi, are you alright? Speak to me…”
