Leaving Our Past Behind
After my parents passed away, my uncle Terrence, who was not related to me by blood, became my guardian. He raised me and treated me like a princess. Everyone knew that he loved me, his niece without any blood ties, more than anything—willing to move heaven and earth for me. However, a few people knew that the relationship between us was not that straightforward. On my 21st birthday, we had a one-night stand.
When I later found myself weak, nauseous, and struggling with waves of discomfort, my first instinct was to seek out Terrence. Yet, what awaited me was the sight of his secretary, disheveled, perched on his lap, playfully clinging to him. When he saw me, his expression darkened. "Pearl, get out! Since when did my office become a place you can barge into?!"
Turning pale, I quietly closed the door after me. The faint sounds of kissing and soft moans seeped through, leaving me trembling uncontrollably.
