Happy Family

Tiarra Shane has never felt happiness since she was a child. Yes, they live a prosperous life, she gets what she wants, and she never has a problem with anything — she has nothing more to ask for, as others have stated. But, unbeknownst to everyone, she didn't need material things to be happy. She only needed her father and twin to accept and love her. She had the impression that his father and Reina Margaux, her twin, were not treated equally from the start. Their father treats them differently in terms of toys, clothes, and love. Because they held her responsible for their mother's death. She does everything they want, anything that pleases them, but she receives nothing but pain. My mother kept a red notebook recording all of my sister's favourite things. She had a blue notebook for me too. When my mother was hospitalized, I took leaves from work to take care of her. My sister had never shown up. However, my mother recorded in the blue notebook, '15th March, I am not well and am hospitalized. Celine owed me 450 dollars for food allowance. I knew that was not a notebook about my favourite things, but a notebook of all of my expenses. Behind the closed doors, Mother said to Father, "Celine is an evil person. She always likes to compete with her sister. We must take a chance to steal all her money and leave with Belle. Later when we are old, we will ask her to take care of us. I think we should just ask her to pay us back all the money we spent on her that I have recorded in this notebook. I was devastated at that moment.

My parents had given her a luxury apartment in the city and a Maserati as birthday gifts. Even my childhood friend was looking at her with love in his eyes. She said they were the ones she loved and thanked them for giving her the best of everything. I looked down at the crumpled IOU in my hand and suddenly laughed. Once I paid off my debt, I would no longer need such a family.

My wife dies in an accident, leaving me and our son, who's just started kindergarten, behind. I barely make it through the funeral.
