The world had descended into chaos, and every day felt like a struggle to keep hope alive. The fever was spreading faster than anyone had anticipated, and the infected were becoming more aggressive. Entire cities were falling one by one. The streets were empty save for those who had already been overtaken by the virus, their grotesque, zombie-like forms stumbling mindlessly through what remained of civilization. It felt like the end was drawing near, and even the most optimistic people were beginning to lose faith.

And something sick inside me wanted her to say it. Tell me you didn’t want this. Tell me to get you out of here, and I will burn the whole fucking city down for you. But she didn’t. Instead, she smiled and said, “It’s not a bad position at all, you know? Queen of the Moreti empire. Free to do whatever I want. The most important woman in the city. That’s every woman’s dream, isn’t it? I hope you didn’t think I was any different?” And there it was.

*Zombie* I bolt out of the old school like a bat out of hell, the door slamming behind me with a thud that echoes in the stillness of the night. My heart pounds in my chest, each beat a frantic reminder of the chaos I just left behind. I can still hear Amber’s voice, the confusion and fear lacing her words as I sprint down the hallway, a wild frenzy coursing through my veins. Adis. The name reverberates in my mind like a drum, but it can’t be true. Adis is dead. He’s gone. I’m Zombie.

What she failed to see was that it had all been hard-earned through my own efforts and sacrifices. Over the years of fighting alongside Shawn, I knew exactly how he thought. I told him straight, "In 13 days, the zombies will appear. The serum from the Westfound lab has leaked, and the world is about to face a crisis." As expected, Shawn looked at me like I was crazy, but he didn't outright call me insane. "You're Shawn Decker. Your parents are district commanders, and your grandfather is…" I raised my finger, pointing to the top. "He's the second-in-command."

muttered the slightly bewildered Yusef as he stared at the zombie. Fezrumos was quite famous within the Underworld Valley as a vicious and cruel beast. With that in mind, Yusef definitely knew who this zombie was, and he was also aware that it had the same amount of training as a Ninth-rank Chakra King! Aside from its immense strength, the beast was pretty much immortal as well! In short, only someone who had managed to enter the Sage Realm could have a chance of even killing the zombie for good. Knowing that, a fearful expression was instantly displayed on Yusef’s face. It didn’t help that the zombie was looking at it with such murderous intent.

Zombie marched forward, pointedly ignoring the other Mandrill Monkeys with eyes trained on the old lady. Shoving her hand to her. “Hi. The name is Zombie. The head of the recruiter. My eyes can discern useful people with just a glance. I can see your unbloom talent.” Linda hesitantly took the hand. Zombie’s attitude was quite repulsive to her eyes, yet she said nothing and only smiled business-like. They shook hands as Linda swallowed her saliva. The aura carried by this Zombie lady was so extreme. As extreme as the other seven.

Rage points +200! [Congratulations to the host for receiving the rewards: 50 infinite rechargeable heating pad and max combat proficiency.] A warm current spread throughout my body, and I felt my muscles filled with strength. Great, the first night of the apocalypse was peaceful. However, I could not be careless because after the extreme cold came a more terrifying zombie outbreak. People who froze to death on the roadside would stand back up with twisted limbs, biting at anyone they saw. Uncle Adam's family was indeed lucky. They abandoned the car and fled back to their upscale neighborhood.

It was protecting its children from the zombie horde. Even zombies instinctively protected their offspring. And yet my own sister spent every waking moment plotting against me. The thought left a bitter chill in my chest. Fortunately, my sadness lasted less than three seconds before my mood brightened again. Because at that exact moment, the system informed me that the zombie siege had counted as a major survival crisis. Even though I had survived partly thanks to the zombie bird’s help, I was still eligible for a special reward because of it.

Bag after bag of plasma was pumped into my veins. One raw, guttural scream tore out of me, and then the sound of a baby crying filled the room. On my phone, the screen was still frozen on one last image. Jasper and Fiona were locked in a kiss beneath the Aurelian Tower. I held my crying son and let the tears fall without stopping.

☆☆☆ Inside It was foggy within but they could still see what lies buried within the cemetery, they walked stealthily like ghosts trying effectively not to attract unwanted attentions. The Zompires are dead creatures considered to be undead, their existence is a curse and an abomination of the hidden world itself. They are ludicrous and predictable unlike other creatures on the planet, they're visibly blind but attracted to noises and lights. They could transform others at will with just a bite but that differs between species. It hasn't been really tested on a dhampir but Rapidfire was not ready to try that out yet.
