View MoreDaniel's POV.I gripped my right leg as unimaginable pain shot up my leg, causing me to yell in pain. I glanced down at my shot leg. My trousers were now wet with thick blood, dripping from the bullet wound. Everywhere was wet with blood. I could hardly focus on anything as a new surge of pain crept up my leg. I looked around. Everywhere was dark and creepy. No one was going to save me. I was hopeless. I was just going to die here. I could feel my sight getting all blurry. There was nothing I could do without yelling from the pain in my leg, I wanted to crawl up to the car and manage to drive to any nearby hospital but the idea soon dissolved in my head as I felt myself losing focus. I felt suddenly tired and yearned to lie my head on the ground as one yearned for water when thirsty. I didn't want to die. I couldn't die now, I just couldn't. But I was losing so much blood. I glanced down at my leg, blinking away the tears that had accumulated at my eyelids to se
Adam's lips trembled as the bat hit the ground after falling from his hand. His expression softened for a bit while he looked at me, but when he looked at Daniel, his expression became as hard as stone."I am going to kill you," Adam said to Daniel. I swallowed, unable to comprehend the events unfolding right in front of me."Adam..." I started, but I couldn't finish it. I couldn't say a word when Adam turned to look at me."You..." He pointed at me, taking one step towards me. I took one step back. He suddenly sighed as he stared at me, and brought his hand down. "How do you betray me like this?" His voice cracked. For the first time since I'd known Adam, I heard his voice crack. He sniffed as he continued. "You left our house...you left your home when I was I trouble. You ran away.""Adam, I didn't - ""No, don't interrupt me," Adam said in a cool voice. This was all too
After about thirty minutes of driving in absolute silence, we finally got to the mall, and, fortunately, we still had another thirty minutes to spare at the mall before they closed the place. As we got out of the car, I made sure to pick all my belongings, especially my phone, I couldn't afford to forget it the second time. Daniel looked at me and took his hand out of his pocket, sliding it in mine as we walked into the mall.Something in my heart fluttered. I was holding hands with Daniel."Don't hold my hand," I said as I tried to remove my fingers from his hand but he gripped my hand tighter."No," he simply said as we walked deeper into the building, nearing the escalator."Leave me," I protested, wiggling my fingers from his grasp. He sighed and finally let me go. I felt a little bad for myself, and him because as much as I wanted to hold hands with him, it just wasn't proper. I was pregnant and
"Come on, Daniel, hurry up," I urged, watching Daniel put on his right shoe, tying the laces as he struggled to button his sleeves at the same time.It was a month later, after I'd settled down in my new home and forgotten all about my past life. . .yeah, I wish I could. I never did. We were in Daniel's house the fateful evening, after Daniel had offered to take me on a shopping spree a few hours ago. I got all dressed up and prettied up only to come find Daniel sleeping in his house. When I woke him up, he'd confessed and told me that it was just a prank, and me, well, being me, forced him and made him agree to taking me on the spree. For two weeks, Daniel had been trying to teach me how to drive. He said it's simple and easy if you concentrate but I found it rather tough. I still hadn't gotten the hang of it yet.Daniel introduced me to a friend of his who worked at an oil and gas company, who said he liked
"For three? Wait, you want to- ""Yes, I want to eat some bacon, how hard is that to understand?!" She shot at me, earning herself a frown-y glare."O...kay, no need for the yelling," Daniel turned around and waved the spoon in his hand in the space between Ashley and I, "and the glaring." He said, looking at me. I shook my head, and waved Ashley off. She went to Daniel and put her arms around him, pressing her chest on his back. She could touch him for all I cared, but yelling at me was not part of the options she had to choose from the list of things that she could and couldn't do, in my own house."Uh, I'm cooking Ashley, get off me." Daniel said, trying to wiggle her off his back but she still held on tight. I stood there and just watched."Why? You smell so nice." She cooed. It made me want to puke, how she talked."Ugh, seriously I need you to get off me, I'm going to
"Hold on, let me get this," Daniel said, holding up one finger as I nodded to him. He brought his phone out of his shirt pocket and I moved towards the kitchen cabinet. I retrieved some frying pans and finally settled on a medium sized one to use to fry eggs. I was suddenly in the mood for Daniel's bacon and eggs and I wanted him to teach me how he made such a delicious delicacy."Good afternoon to you too, Ashley." I heard him say behind me. It was that Ashley girl again. Ugh, she had really perfect timing."Why are you asking that?" Daniel asked, walking slowly, to and fro the kitchen. I brought out some eggs from the bags Daniel had helped me carry inside and started to crack them."I know I've never had a problem with you asking where I am but...I don't know, I'm quite busy now, can we talk later?" He asked. I removed some eggshells from the bowl I cracked the eggs into and headed to the gas cooker to light it up.
"Wait, popcorn? What do you need that for?" I asked, amused at his request."No, not me. You. You'll need the popcorn." He answered."Me? Why? Its not like we're about to watch a movie or some- wait, it's because of what you're about to tell me, right?" I asked him."Yep." He said, popping the P."O...Kay well I don't have popcorn. Will you just tell me already?" I asked, curiosity already eating me up. Why did I even need popcorn to listen to his story? Daniel is just too funny sometimes."You sure you don't want popcorn? It really adds to the - ""Come on, I don't. Tell me now." I demanded."Okay," he cleared his throat and left his sofa, joining me on mine. He faced me and began saying his story, "so I, myself moved here around five years ago. Then this house hadn't even been constructed yet, only my house over there,
"Hey, what the…!" Daniel shouted as we both bent forward by the impulse of the car. I immediately slammed my feet on the brakes again, bringing the car to an abrupt stop right in the middle of the road."Uh…I think I'll better take the wheel." Daniel slowly said and opened the door, he got greeted with hundreds of loud honks as I quickly opened the door to walk out but quickly closed it again because of the oncoming vehicle. When it passed, I reopened the door and hopped out, quickly walking to the other side of the car as Daniel hopped into the drivers seat. I entered the passengers seat and closed the door as Daniel pressed his feet on the accelerator, making the car move forward with a nice, slow speed."Uhm, unless I want to die, remind me never to let you drive again." Daniel joked but I didn't laugh."Deal." I said. This was all a bad idea in the first place even. Well, at least I got one good lesson
I turned to look at Daniel in utter surprise. He chuckled as the car slowed to a halt. Was he really going to teach me to drive right now?Right on the highway?!Daniel unbuckled his seatbelt but left the engine on. "What the heck are you doing?!" I yelled. Was he okay? Had he drunk anything today?"Getting down so we can switch seats." He simply replied, with his cool, sexy voice as if everything was okay.Everything was not okay!"You can't let me..." He was already out of the vehicle, slamming the door shut. In a moment, he appeared at my side of the car and opened the door. Was he actually serious? He was actually going through with this? Was he?"Come on, come out." He said, opening the door wider but I refused to get off the car. I was not ready to die now."Daniel, what are you doing?!" I yelled again, as some cars sped by us noisi
I am Daniel.Daniel Robinson George. For some reason, I hated the name George and hated to be called it, so everyone calls me Daniel, and my best friends, Danny. My age? Well, let's just say I was a teenager, tall with a broad shoulder, had enhanced blue eyes and had a scent girls said they loved so much.I was the kind of guy that could make any girl blush with just a simple smile. To cut the description short, I was handsome, and I sure as hell knew it.I was in the ninth grade and had one sibling -Judy, my elder sister who was good looking but wasn't as attractive as my Mom Flora, a very generous woman with accentuated high cheekbones and hazel eyes but without a job. I loved them both because I could easily voice out my feelings to then when necessary. But with my Dad, it was a different story. My Dad was a very strict disciplinarian who believed in corporal punishment. To me, he was a pain in the neck. I figure...
