Stella's.Cooper let go of me and we both looked at Owen. Leaving his side, I stood beside my mate and passed him a soft smile before looking back at Cooper. “This is—”“I do know who he is,” Cooper said, cutting me off. I kissed my tongue and glared at him but he only winked back. The nerve of this guy. Right in front of my mate. An alpha for that matter. “Alpha Owen, I'm Cooper Stevenson, beta of Grandiose Apex.”Owen shook his outstretched hand, his face emotionless and his mouth set on a straight line. “Nice to meet you.”Lie. It was so obvious he didn't fancy Cooper, but due to the fact that he was family, he wasn't on his pack ground and he respected him, he kept it to himself. A definite alpha way.Copper nodded and stepped aside, his hand now stretched to the hallway before us. “Please, allow me to lead you to the guest house.”“Nuh-uh.” I stepped in-between them. “He stays with me.” I peered up at Owen whose eyes never once drifted from me. “Right?”Cooper looked between us.

Stella's POV.Surprisingly, I woke up quite early in the morning. The night was pretty much well spent. Now, I felt like I could conquer the world. Stretching, I stood up from my bed and went to freshen up. I should stop by at Kormak's home quick before Owen got up. I hurriedly scrubbed my body before shrugging on a white shorts, white t-shirt, and blue sweatshirt to go with. I loved the way it complimented my skin and matched my eyes. My hair remained on a messy bun with tendrils fallen over my face. Feeling satisfied with how I looked, I grabbed my phone and exited the room.Quietly, I trudged down the stairs and to the kitchen. It was after six, Kormak should be up by now. A scream tore out of my throat when I saw someone in the kitchen. “You good?” Owen asked, getting up from the stool he occupied and to my side.I removed my hand from my chest, “what do you think? You frightened me.”“I apologize. But you should know that I stay here too.”I glanced up at him. The bright light

Stella's POV.A groan made me shift my sight from the drip button I was adjusting to him. Kormak groaned again and slowly parted his eyes, but shut it quickly because of the bright light. I stood rooted in my spot, my gaze on his face.He sighed, “can you stop burning my face?” His voice came out scratchy.“No.” I grabbed the cup of water from the center table and passed it to him. “Here, drink.”Kormak struggled as he sat up, not once did I assist him. “Why on earth am I so weak?” He hissed, a frown on his face. “Help me understand that, too brother.” I said, crossing my arms over my chest and glared at him. After he drank the water, he passed the cup back to me. “Dim the light, will you? My eyes and brain seemed fried.” Kormak grunted.“Yet again, I wonder why.” I sassed, but did as he wanted. When I saw how confused he looked, I heaved out a breath and asked. “How do you feel?”He didn't acknowledge my question and asked me. “Why exactly am I here?” He raised his hand towards his

Stella's POV.“What?” I breathed out, my hand falling limp by my side.I never thought this would happen. Never in a million years did it cross my mind. That it could happen. The lump in my throat grew two times bigger. Numbly, I twisted my head to Cooper. “What did you just say?”However, I didn't think I heard him right. He needed to repeat it. Just to be sure it wasn't my sick mind feeding me the words.“What on earth did you say, Cooper??” My voice came out stronger, harder, meaner. Because…what..??He blew out breath from his lips before repeating it. “She was pregnant. Aria was a month gone before then. Neither she or Kormak had any idea about it. It was a cryptic and early stage pregnancy. So, her baby died before she did. She lost her first child, Stella. The wolfsbane alone was too lethal for it.”This was just ten in the morning and I've heard more bad news than I ever had in a day. My mother killed an unborn and innocent baby. And I? Was the daughter of a murderer.“Don't,
