Valeria's heart ached as she witnessed Markus's turmoil. She knew that the pain she had caused him was real, but she also knew that they couldn't go back to what they once had. Their relationship had been poisoned by mistrust and betrayal, and she had made the difficult decision to leave for her own sanity and well-being. "Tell me Valeria, why do you think I'm here?" She could feel herself longing for his touch, perhaps that moment was similar to what she had been imagining ever since her marriage with Markus. Valeria could potentially feel suffocated due to the realisation that she was stuck between two men. But she had to stay strong considering that Markus could not be trusted, and she had to stay put. Valeria pushed him but Markus pulled her again forcefully, she gritted her teeth and smacked him on the chest. 

“I mean if you are marrying her for the sake of the child then I can understand. You have always been the responsible type of guy.” Markus immediately shifted the conversation towards the main point. He settled back on the sofa and puffed once more. “Oh no. You are misunderstanding, Markus. We are absolutely a perfect duo and it is not about the child. The kid is our responsibility and I don’t deem my child as a burden or a forceful string between us.”  Adrian explained in a firm tone to put Markus off as he grew annoyed of his constant questioning. “Okay, okay. The next day they all had breakfast when Markus arrived at the table a few minutes late. “Morning!” Valeria was seated beside him when Adrian greeted his cousin. Markus could clearly see her getting fidgety upon his presence and he enjoyed that. It was confirmed to him that she was affected by his presence.  “Good morning! Are you going somewhere?” Markus questioned while pouring himself a glass of juice. He saw the driver taking a big suitcase outside towards the car. There was no chance that Valeria was going somewhere as she had no place to go. On the dining table Markus tried to ignore Valeria completely.  “Oh yeah. The Japanese delegation, they want me to sign the documents and finalise the deal in Sydney.” Adrian explained while taking a big bite of the bread.

Markus settled her in the back seat of the car while the woman was still unable to move. He played the role of devil instead of being her knight in a shiny armour. Valeria could not believe Markus could stoop so low to have her. Only if Markus would have behaved well, then it could have brought him the love of the woman he had desired. "Don't worry love, you know I would never harm you. Nor this child.” Markus cast a look at her protruding tummy blankly. He assured Valeria but perhaps his actions spoke louder than words and she got scared seeing his madness. And she should give him a chance to prove himself. Markus was willing to do everything in his power to stop her from marrying Adrian.  "I'm eager when you will wake up and have breakfast with me. It will be us having a quality after seven months and ten days." Markus glanced at her while tracing his knuckles over her cheek. He had counted every single day which he spent apart and away from her. Even the precise calculation. Markus slumped back on the sofa with a satisfied smile. He stared at Valeria in the position while reflecting on his plan regarding how to proceed next. All Markus could simply think of was a future and a family with Valeria!
