Chapter 81

Leora Montgomery's pov “Are there others that are aware of his past,” I asked Ivory, and she told me that only the older centenarians do, but they have been warned by Gideon not to mention it to others or die. Inhaling deeply, I felt that I must be the one who would break through the walls he had built up around his heart. It was obvious that he was a caring individual but it only reached a certain level. “I will pole vault over his walls and capture his heart,” I asserted and grinned slightly at myself. Seeing Gideon returning back inside and looking gloomy I narrowed my eyes. “What has crept up your butt, Mr Landers?” He glared at me and growled, “Call me by my given name and nothing is going on within my ass.” Hissing, I shook my head and asserted, “Cheer up, buttercup, so I can introduce you to your assistant.” His mouth turned up slightly at the corner and he nodded. “Come along, my king; I was shown your shared office and know the way,” I said chipperly and offered him

Chapter 82

Leora Montgomery's pov After getting all the information for the invitations to Calvin, I felt hungry and suggested that we head to the kitchen, seeing the time on the clock on the wall. “Breakfast is served every day at nine. So we better go and eat,” I commented. Nodding, Calvin thanked us both and waved us off, letting Gideon know that he would handle everything for us until we got adjusted. Standing there waiting for me to move, Gideon said teasingly, “ Lead the way since you have a mind map.” “You could just follow the scent of food, sir,” I responded and he told me that was no fun. We reached the dining room and I was surprised by the buffet that was set up. Spotting a few of the upper staff serving themselves I called Brandy over after seeing her. “This is my mate and my King,” I told her. Her eyes widened at Gideon and me. “It's a pleasure to meet you, Sir. You both should grab a plate and enjoy your breakfast; I will be with the staff,” she said kindly and

Chapter 83

Leora Montgomery's pov In my disappointed state, I was startled by Brandy approaching me with a flamboyant male by her side. “Leora, this is Pierre, and he needs to measure you for your coronation gown,” she said, then leaned toward my ear and softly added, “He is the seamstress of the estate and bats for the opposite team. If you catch my meaning.” Grinning slightly I side-eyed her and said sarcastically, "I never would have guessed.” Crossing his arms Pierre snubbed my comment and said, “We must hurry up so I can have your masterpiece finished in time, Your Excellence.” “Please call me Leora and where do you want me to go, Sir,” I asserted. Scoffing he waved his arms around. “To your suite, of course, Egads! I can't get your measurements done outdoors,” he scolded me. Rolling my eyes I told him let's go and walked past them as I entered the side door. Brandy shouted that she had to help with dinner prep, and Pierre said he would meet me in my room with his sewing i

Chapter 84

Leora Montgomery's pov “Please forgive me for hurting you, Leora. I lost myself and feel terrible,” he murmured and I squeezed him. “I hope that you know that I can feel what you're feeling through our mate connection,” I replied carefully, then added, “I knew what to expect. With you being half-vampire, I figured it would have been rougher. “ Eyeing me incredulously, he started to chuckle, and I could feel him inside me still. “How is that possible?” I huffed and he grinned. “I have only just begun,” he said with a smirk and I shook my head. “I don't think I can handle mating anymore right now but I probably will later,” I giggled and felt him once again inside of me. He sighed and pulled out a little, then pushed himself back in, and my eyes widened as I bit my lip. “It feels so good. You fit me like a glove, sweetheart, but I understand that you need to recuperate, so how about I carry you to the ensuite, and we get ourselves cleaned up,” he suggested. Nodding sl

Chapter 85

Leora Montgomery's pov “Okay,” I answered while I squeezed the small painting in my hand. Concentrating on my suite I felt an odd tug and felt a whoosh of air. Feeling weightless I soon was standing on solid ground and opened my eyes to see my bedroom. “That was so cool!” I chuckled and went to my dresser to stash the painting in the top drawer underneath the black t-shirt I used for pajamas. Sensing a shift in the air I turned to see Gideon standing there with a grin on his face. “You have the gift, are you queasy at all?” Shaking my head I told him that it was exhilarating and easy peasy. My eyebrow raised watching him select a t-shirt from his pile and slip it over his head. His muscles rippled down his abdomen and my lip curled up in appreciation. Peeking over at me, he chuckled and asked if I was ready to go to my parent's house as he shimmied on a pair of faded blue jeans. After putting on his socks and boots he glanced over at me with the hair clip that was left o

Chapter 86

Leora Montgomery's pov Stopping where we had left our clothes, I sat on my haunches, telling Ivory I needed to shift back, and waited for it to happen. “Concentrate on your human form,” Gideon’s stern voice asserted. Peering over at him I wondered why he was all pissy suddenly and huffed as I closed my eyes and thought about being myself. Wincing as my body contorted and watched as the fur evaporated from my arms. Still sitting on the ground, I turned my hand and saw that my palms were filthy. I glanced at Gideon, who was already dressed. “I'm going to need a shower,” I muttered. Nodding his head he suggested that I get dressed. “When we get back, you can shower, and I will raid the kitchen for a meal we can share,” he said firmly, and I shrugged. Gazing at me with lowered eyelids he exhaled deeply and said, “I wish to apologize for my wolf’s behavior. He has been celibate for just as long as I have and was feeling horny.” Looking at him as I smoothed down the materi

Chapter 87

Leora Montgomery's pov Seeing that Gideon was already up and not in bed I sat up and took the phone from her. “Hello?” “Hello, your Excellence, I am Mister Durumill, and I am calling in regards to my dead son Aspen. Are you the person responsible for his demise?” Taken aback, I hesitated before answering. Finally, after a moment of silence, he added, “I have no plans of retaliation, dear; in fact, I wished to thank you for removing that stain from my bloodline if you are the individual responsible .” “Oh, I see. Yes, I stabbed him with a weapon that I was assured would end him,” I asserted bluntly, and he chuckled. “Very well, I just wanted to be certain that he was, in fact, deceased since his body was put into the crypt there. Anyway, I won't take any more of your time. Good luck to you, Miss,” he said kindly and ended the call. I sat there befuddled and furrowed my brow. “That was very strange,” I muttered and handed the phone back to Brandy. “Where is my king?” I asked

Chapter 88 Day of the Coronation

Leora Montgomery's pov Pacing my bedroom, I kept squeezing my hands periodically and chewing on my bottom lip, not wanting to deal with all of the royals that had been willingly invited into my home. “You should at least make a presence before the crowning as you are the natural-born high queen,” Gideon said with a grin. Shaking my head I told him that he was doing just fine on his own and he was just as important as I was. “You're my mate Gideon so all that natural born bologna is nonsense. I just don't want to be judged by a bunch of uppity snobbish wolves. Plus I was enjoying our solitude,” I asserted. Coming to my side he hugged me tightly and said, “They are all going to admire and love you like I do and will leave tomorrow.” Scrunching my face I side-eyed him and growled, “I don't want them to love me like you do, Gideon! And they can leave NOW!” Rolling his eyes he chuckled and explained that he didn't mean love in that sense and that I just needed to deal with th

Chapter 89 Night of the Coronation

Leora Montgomery's pov My hair was lovely. Remy had outdone herself as I looked at my reflection in the mirror. Linda had returned to inform us that they were going to wed Gideon and me first, then crown us. “Who are they?” I asked her curiously. Grinning slightly she said, “A Moon Council member has come to officiate the wedding and is an acquaintance of your King.” Creasing my brow, Ivory chuckled and informed me that it was Cedric Phillips.” My eyes widened at the mention of that lighthearted old werewolf. “That's hilarious that he's officiating our nuptials. He's a silly character, I met him when I was first at the council but briefly,” I giggled. “Here is something blue!” Linda stated as she handed me a small pale blue handkerchief. “I don't have a bouquet,” I mumbled softly and my mom lifted her hand from behind her back and presented a lovely cluster of pink roses and baby's breath. “Where did you find these?” Grinning slightly, she informed me that my la

Chapter 90

Leora Montgomery's pov Straining to push out my son, I grasped Gideon's hand and screamed as I bore down. After several attempts, I felt the pup exit along with the placenta and waited for his cries but was met with gasps of concern. Gideon stood and growled sternly as he left my side and went to see what was wrong. Tears fell from my eyes as I stammered asking what was wrong. “The pup is blue and not getting oxygen by breathing!” Remy asserted as Gideon lifted the infant and started digging the mucus from his mouth. “Give me the suction apparatus,” he shouted out. I watched through my panic as he sucked out our child’s nostrils and rubbed against the child’s tawny back skin. Seeing the fear in Gideon’s eyes I cried out for him to save our son. “I will,” he snapped and cradled the pup. Inserting his fangs into the pup's shoulder, the child let out a menacing growl, causing me to gasp. Retracting his teeth Gideon smiled widely and looked at me. “He was being a stubborn litt
