You Won't Leave, Right?

Alpha Gregory's POVIt first started as side talks but as time went on, it grew into rumors and soon almost everyone was talking about it. Stephanie's disappearance and sudden reappearance was a hot topic for the pack members to debate on. The main highlights of their discussion was her whereabouts when she disappeared. Some said she went into hiding due to shame but others highlighted she was in the arms of another man. Soon the topic that was meant for the pack members to discuss was brought into the council during one of our meetings. “You shouldn't try covering up for her, tell us her whereabouts before her return so that all the rumors would be clear." Elder Ralph said, eliciting a nod of support from his colleagues. “Why are you interested in her whereabouts?" I snapped at them, grabbing the arm of my chair in anger. As the rumor grew, the more angry I became but there was nothing I could do about it.

Rumors Again

Gregory's POVI did everything I could to abate the rumors but it was of no use, rather, it became a hot topic in the pack that even restrictions couldn't put an end to it. Because of the intensity of the rumor, Stephanie got wind of it, leaving me at the edge of the cliff but her reaction calmed me down. Instead of flaring up and attempting to leave the pack, she did nothing of that sort. The elders were not helping matters as they were on my neck concerning Stephanie's loyalty even after my several reassurances that she was on our side. Once again, during one of our council meetings, Elder Ralph started the topic, indulging the rest of the elders who in turn shifted their focus to me. “I have everything under my control, you just have to believe me." I said to the elders but they wouldn't hear of it. They kept demanding proof of her loyalty which I didn't have to offer. At the end of the council meeting

Traitor

Stephanie's POVThe rumors were getting worse with each passing day. Alpha Gregory had done a good job trying to stop me from hearing the rumors but the volumes at which the pack members spoke were loud. Now I understand why I was getting those strange looks each time I stepped out of the chambers. To make the pack members believe I was loyal to them, I did all I could to make that happen and even got involved in their little talks but it didn't suffice. They were all still suspicious and whenever I joined them, it was either they changed the topic of their discussion or the gathering started thinning out until I was the only one left. Alpha Gregory was not left in all of this. I did whatever he asked of me and my head was always bent to the ground whenever he spoke to me. My aim was to let him know that it was just a rumor and I was loyal to him and the pack. Since the pack members won't believ

She Is Dead

Gregory's POVElara’s confession made my heart clench tightly against my chest as I stared back at her, a million and one thought running through my head at once. Ava is still alive! — I thought, sending my teeth into my lower lips, my heartbeat getting doubled with each passing second. Suddenly, Elara began to laugh like the situation was funny. Snapping my head in her direction, I took a few strides in her direction only to grab her by her neck, pulling her up roughly until her back was against the rough wall. “Don't you dare lie to me, Ava is dead." I spat in her face. “Then why am I alive?" She replied defiantly, causing me to recoil but soon I regained my balance, tightening my grip around her neck. “Tell me everything you know about Ava’s plan.” I snapped, my tone cold and controlling. When she wouldn't speak, I let go of my grip on her neck and she began to cough while I looked on waiting impatient

Back From The Dead

Ava’s POVTwirling my hair around my fingers, a scoff escaped from my lips. Till now, Alpha Gregory’s voice still echoed in my mind. The way he had whispered my name filled with passion and love. And then, the way he had uttered his final order.Alpha Gregory had been a pawn in my game for a long time but all of a sudden, things changed. He learnt of the truth and was determined to put an end to me.At first, I thought he was reacting because of the feeling of betrayal and with time it would wean off but I was mistaken. I tried all the tactics I could think of to soothe him before I resumed my manipulation but it was to no avail. It was unlike before when he could barely function properly without me by his side even to the extent that he rejected his pregnant mate just to be with me. Rolling my eyes to the back of my head, I sat on the couch, legs crossed and staring into space. “Gregory, you thin

Revenge Gone Wrong

Ava's POVSatisfied with the manipulations of the pack members, I decided to move to my next plan and that was confronting Alpha Gregory. I wasn't going to do it alone, I was going to do it with the aid of a powerful sorcerer as it wasn't going to be easy if I handled it myself. Standing at the borders next to the sorcerer, I placed my hand on my dagger which was strapped firmly around my waist. With the alarm of rogues at the borders, Alpha Gregory was going to leave whatever he was doing and find his way here. Several times I have heard him talk about the safety of his pack being one of his priorities and not only that, he had demonstrated countlessly. Today was not going to be any different. The aura from the sorcerer next to me gave me so much confidence. He was tagged the best and that's why I chose to form an alliance with him knowing I wasn't going to regret my actions. The air was thick with the sc

Defeated

Gregory’s POVI was shocked to see Ava at the borders instead of the rogues like I was informed. She didn't come for negotiations, she was here for revenge and to make that happen, she came with a sorcerer who cast spells on my armies before doing the same to me. Fighting against the sorcerer's magic was like I was fighting against a demon which was triple my size. His magic was like I was being whipped with fire that scotched my skin and left a burning sensation in my veins. The sorcerer continued tormenting me, giving me no time to breathe as the pain came hitting me in bolts. Gritting my teeth amidst the pain, I struggled to remain on my feet. My armies were frozen, I couldn't afford to fall when the whole life of my pack depended on me. And then, there was Stephanie and our child whom I had vowed to protect. With this in mind, I continued fighting against the magic but I was losing strength.

Who Was He?

Stephanie's POVThe sound of hurried footsteps made my eyes flicker open and at once I sat up.Recalling what happened before darkness took over, I was staring into space but the noise from outside took over my reasoning. Davies? I had seen Davies at the borders before I passed out. Was I back at his pack? What is he going to do with me?Throwing my feet off the bed, I scurried towards the door, my heart pounding in my chest as dread settled over me. Something was wrong and I wonder what it was. Realizing I was still in Alpha Gregory's pack, I exhaled in relief. The pack members, have they finally reached the decision of throwing me out? — I pondered but I waved the thought off almost immediately. The sound beyond the door was more like that of a battle cry. “There are rouges at the borders. They are going to infiltrate the pack." The moment I heard this, I yanked the door open, allowing my eyes to roam through the hallway which was in chaos. “Ava, she is not dead. She is at

A Year Later

Stephanie's POV Standing behind the cot of my children, my heart fluttered as a permanent smile remained on my lips. They were so adorable and I wouldn't mind spending the whole day watching my little darlings I had vowed to nurture into great men. “My lady, it's time to have your bath so we can proceed for breakfast." Sarah spoke from the door. When I didn't give her a response, she closed the distance between us and with her hand resting tenderly on mine, she asked, “Are you skipping breakfast today?" Nodding at the twins, she added, “They are hard suckers, you need to eat a lot to withstand them." Swirling to face her, I mouthed, “Aren't they beautiful?" “Yes, they are. They are both adorable." “Who do you think will take after me?"She was about to answer when the door creaked open and Alpha Gregory walked in. “Excuse me." She took her leave, leaving me with Gregory who was already beside me and the kids.“I will look after them, go and have a bath." He tried to steer me

Confused

Alpha Gregory's POV The incessant itching and scratching, I noticed it all but I said nothing to her about it. I wanted her to tell me but she kept it to herself so I felt it wasn't bad as I thought. At the dining table, I kept casting her side glances. The look on her face showed she was in pain but still, she kept it to herself.Suddenly, she began to twitch and turn.Seeing it had escalated, I had no choice but to call out to the physician for help but he was taking too long and Stephanie was crying.“He will be here soon." I said, trying to relieve her of the pain she felt but it was of no use. Hurrying towards the door, I wanted to go fetch the physician myself but I couldn't leave Stephanie on her own; hence I was conflicted. Rushing to her side, I wanted to help ease the pain she felt when she suddenly went limp and the next second, she was falling off her chair.“My lord…” The physician announced his presence, standing behind the door. "What took you so long?” I yelled
