I slowly got out of my car, heading towards the mansion. I could feel my heart racing, my whole body trembling. I still can't believe this is over. A whole four years of marriage gone down the drain. I stood in front of the entrance door, contemplating."should i ring the doorbell or let my lawyer handle this?" After gathering much courage, I finally rang the doorbell. It took a few minutes before I heard footsteps approaching. My breath ceased as the footsteps grew louder. It had been one month since I last saw him. After witnessing him cheat with my best friend, Natasha, I knew I wasn't going to take it anymore. His constant betrayals had caused me nothing but pain. I had endured countless times, hoping he would change, wishing he would magically become the man I once fell in love with. but it turns out I was just fooling myself. The door opened, revealing Ethan. His sky-blue eyes landed on mine, shock flickering across his face. “A—Alice, you didn't tell me you were coming?”

We all stood up to welcome him as he entered the room, each of us eager to make a good impression. I felt my heart race as his gaze swept across the group, finally resting on me. His expression was blank, as if I were just another face in the crowd. Seriously? “Welcome, everyone,” he said, his voice smooth and authoritative, as he gestured for us to take our seats. I swallowed hard, my pulse quickening Why was my heart racing so fast? My boss cleared his throat. “Thank you for being here today, Sir Astor. I’m excited to discuss potential collaboration with your company.” My boss said and Jake nodded, his eyes studying the room. As the meeting commenced, I tried to focus on the presentation, but my mind kept lingering to the past, the moment I woke up beside him, the way he walked out on me. 'What were the chances?' I had shared something intimate with this man, and now he was sitting across from me as if we were merely colleagues. It's obvious he sleeps with different ladie

I hesitated, staring at Ethan’s name flashing on my screen. My heart raced. What did he want now? I watched as the call ended, hoping that would be the last of it. But then it began ringing again. I rolled my eyes in annoyance; the ringtone seeming louder than usual, as if urging me to answer. Taking a deep breath, I picked up, trying to keep my voice steady. “Hello?” “Alice,” he said, his tone sharp. “What do you want?“ I asked. “Who was that guy you were with at the restaurant?” I frowned, taken aback by his question. “Why does it matter to you? We’re done, remember?” “I just want to know. Tell me who he is,” he pressed. “You didn’t mention you were seeing someone.” “Look, it’s none of your business,” I shot back, frustration boiling over. “You lost that right when you decided to cheat on me with my best friend.” “Alice, wait—” he began, but I cut him off. “Goodbye, Ethan.” I hung up, my heart pounding in my chest. What was that about? How dare he? The next day, I sat in

I took a deep breath, willing myself to regain composure. “Alice! Are you okay?!“ The sound of Jake’s voice was filled with concern. I splashed more water on my face, hoping to wash away the fear that engulfed me. “Just a minute!” I called out, my voice shaky. I leaned against the sink, staring at my reflection as if it held the answers I desperately needed. My heart raced, and my mind spiraled with questions. What if I was pregnant? I wiped my mouth again, the metallic taste lingering. I couldn't afford to let this thought consume me—not now, not when everything was so fucking uncertain. After another moment, I pushed myself away from the sink, straightening my clothes and taking a steadying breath. As I opened the door, Jake stood there, worry etched across his face. His sandy blonde hair fell slightly over his forehead, and his light green eyes searched mine. “Alice, are you okay?“ I hesitated, turning back to the restroom “I just… I needef a moment,” I said, my voic

Standing in the living room, I was frozen, staring at Jake Astor. He looked even more handsome today, his presence commanding and confident as usual. Taking a deep breath, I walked toward him, my heart racing.“Good day, Mr. Jake,” I greeted, attempting to sound casual. “What brings you here?”He smiled, a charming smile that made my insides flutter. “Can I come in?”I hesitated, my mind racing. Would he notice? The pregnancy was still in its early stages; maybe he couldn’t tell. Just as I was about to say yes, Mia chimed in from behind me.“Yes! You can come in!” she exclaimed, her eyes wide with admiration as she took in Jake’s good looks. I turned to her, momentarily stunned by her enthusiasm.Mia had always had a thing for handsome men, and Jake was no exception. I felt a mix of awe and annoyance, but I couldn’t blame her. He was striking.Jake stepped inside, glancing around the living room. “Nice place,” he remarked, his voice smooth.“Mia, can you excuse us for a moment?” I ask
