(Ariel's POV)I was taken to a guest room upstairs by Ann. As I thought, the windows were rooms and I got a room facing the back of the palace. Ann moved and parted the velvet curtains until some light streamed into the room. Outside the windows, there were guards on patrol. I counted about four. They had a gun slung across their body. The fence was so high, I would have difficulty climbing it. I might even get caught. I looked further, there was a black gate, it was smaller than the gigantic structure called city gate at the entrance of the compound.I could make out two forms, I was guessing they belonged to Elijah's guards. I wondered how many guards he had and I am sure if I totaled them I would count at least 15. I shuddered at the thought of being caught by these men. (Elijah's POV)After giving instructions to my guards on patrol. I strolled into the house and headed towards the boy's quarter to meet Vincent. It had been a while since I last saw Vincent and it was good to have him back. I wouldn't even have known that he was back if it weren't for Don to spot him, sneaking back into the mansion.Vincent had been very helpful to me. He had been out there moving pack by pack and getting me all the intel on all the Alphas of each pack. Vincent was very handy, he had even gone undercover with the rebels getting necessary information for me. But just the day before he was due to penetrate the Moonstone Park, he suddenly went missing.I tried to find out what kind of danger he could have encountered but I was unsuccessful. I didn't know what danger he is in or how he entered such danger that made him disappear but his words on the last phone call we had just before he disappeared spoke about him falling in love with a human.I was not surprised though.
