Chapter 1: My mate's rejection (I)

My eyelids slowly fluttered open, and I blinked rapidly, trying to shake off the remnants of sleep. Sitting up abruptly, I looked around the familiar room, my fingertips pressed against my temples as I tried to recall the fading details of the dream I had the night before. But no matter how hard I tried, nothing came to mind. With a heavy sigh, I slid out of my bed and walked to the bathroom. I turned on the shower and turned to the mirror as I waited for the water to heat up. My heavy eyes studied my reflection. My plain nightgown clung to my wet skin and my brown hair was all over the place. I looked normal, nothing remarkable. Sighing for the upteen time, I turned to the running shower and placed my hand under it. "Perfect," I croaked under my breath. I slid my night gown over my body and slowly stepped into the bathtub, wincing as the hot water immediately began cascading down my skin, washing away the lingering haze of sleep. After I was done, I stepped out of the shower, wrap

Chapter 2: My mate's rejection (II)

“What?” I gasped in pain as though thousands of needles were being driven forcefully into my chest. The pain was so intense that my legs gave out, and I collapsed to the floor. I cried out in pain as I hit the ground hard. The crowd around me gasped as I struggled the rejection, my gaze still fixed on Jake who didn’t even glance my way.“Just accept the rejection, my dear,” I heard my father’s voice in my head, his words coming through the mind-link for the first time. "You’re better than this." “But why? Why did he have to do this to me?” I screamed internally, the agony overwhelming.“Accept the rejection, Exalia," Alpha Jake said, his voice was cold and void of any feeling. "You don’t need me to force you.” With immense effort, I struggled to stand. My left leg throbbed painfully under my weight, but I refused to give up. Clenching my teeth and sobbing, I pushed myself upright, using my trembling arms for support. Tears streamed down my face, blurring my vision as I looked at Alp

Chapter 3: My father/ my wolf

"ARGH!" My father scream out in pain. I stood by the gates of the dungeon, watching my bloodied father yell out in agony. He laid flat on a wooden-like board while two guards stood opposite each other, hitting him with the large rods in their hands. Maria sat in front of it all with a wide smile on her face. The entire thing seemed to... satisfy her. If the guards weren't using silver and wolfsbane, I wouldn't have any problems, but this way, my father was too vulnerable. When the rods landed on his back, large gashes appeared. They would have healed up if it wasn't for the silver and wolfsbane which hindered his healing factor. The heavy rods were brought down with full force across my father's shoulders, back, and legs, again and again. At first, the heavy thongs cut through his skin only. But then, as the blows continued, they cut deeper, breaking bones and tearing muscles. I thought I could watch, and as the pack beta, he could manage, but no, my father was dying, and no one fu

Chapter 4: my fate

“No, I didn't!” I screamed on top of my lungs. The entire room seemed to spin around me, and my eyes pulsed as hot tears started rolling down my face. "I didn't kill him." “You were forcing yourself on him," the lady who had walked in at the last minute said as she rushed to the still bleeding alpha. "I saw everything. It was clear as day.”"No..." I muttered under my breath as I took two steps backwards. "I... I would never do such a thing. He tried... he tried... " I tried to speak but I only burst into tears.Suddenly, the door slammed open and five guards stormed into the kitchen. Two pulled at my arms, dragging me toward the door. I tried to react but I could not as it was happening all too fast."Exalia," one of them, the pack gamma, asked as his grip on my hands tightened. "What have you done?""Nothing!" I cried out as more tears fell from my eyes. "I swear! He tried to force himself on me and... and I didn't do anything, just a push.""Don't lie to us!" Mike, the gamma shoute

Chapter 5: my fate (II)

Axel’s POV.“Alpha, I think we should attack tomorrow when all their alpha's are together and finish them off,” Jace, my beta suggested as he walked into the room.I leaned back in my chair, contemplating his words. It was a sound plan, yet something felt off. A strange unease settled in my chest.“No, I feel uneasy," I finally said as I sat upright. "I need some air. We'd check out how to get into the pack house later.” I stood up from the seat with a small grunt and walked out the door, Jace following closely behind me.The night was dark and eerily quiet in the territory of the Moon launch Pack. As the fierce and dominant Lycan alpha, I moved through the dense forest with precision and keen eyes, my guards walking by me. Jace flanked behind, scanning the forest for any sudden movements."Alpha, everything seems calm tonight," one of the guards reported, his voice breaking the silence of the night.I scanned the area with my wolf vision before nodding in acknowledgment. "Stay vigilan

Chapter 6: Axel

Axel’s POV.“Alpha, I think we should attack tomorrow when all their alpha's are together and finish them off,” my beta's voice sounded.“No, I feel uneasy. I'd go out on a walk and we'd check out how to get into the pack house,” my voice sounded as I stood up and walked out through the door, as my beta, jace followed behind me.The night was dark and quiet in the territory of the Moon launch Pack. As the fierce and dominant lycan alpha, I prowled through the dense forest, by my guards, and jace. "Alpha, everything seems calm tonight," one of the guards reported, breaking the silence of the night.I scanned the area with my black eyes and nodded in acknowledgment. "Stay vigilant. We have an attack to launch," I replied firmly. Deep down, I longed to rest, but I had to get rid of all the corrupt alpha's and I was going to do just that, I had to uphold my duties. I was known as the most feared alpha, although I didn't see anything scary about myself compared to Peter, my best friend,

Chapter 7: mate

Exalia's POV"Hurry, get to the gates now!""Secure the Alpha!" I watched as all the guards rushed in all directions, their voices sharp with urgency. My heart pounded hard against my chest as I tried to grasp what was happening."The rogues are attacking the clinic!" a nurse shouted as she sprinted past the prison, her voice filled with panick. "Move!" Rogues? An attack? I clenched my stomach as I felt it twist into knots. My father!Without a second thought, I turned and followed the guards, my steps quick and unsteady. Every moment that dragged by did so with unbearable dread as different thoughts raced through my mind. 'Please, let it not be as bad as I think.'"Where is my father?" I called out to a passing guard. The guard didn't even give me listening ear. Instead, he scoffed and kept walking, dismissing me like I didn’t even exist."Where’s my family?" I asked as I felt my frustration tighten in my chest. "Where is my father?" I turned again to another guard who stood at t

Chapter 8: his deal

Axel's POV"She's mine! My mate! My mate!""Easy, Wolfie. We'll get to her soon."The battle between the rogues and the rest of the pack had been more than ferocious. I'd nearly been defeated as they all came onto me in numbers, but my strong bond with my mate only fueled me to move on.I needed her... so much."Find me my mate, now!" I growled at my Beta, Mark, as my patience had begun to thin. Waking down the length of the meeting room, I ran my hand over my hair, adjusted my attire and smoothening an invisible wrinkle on it. I wanted to make an impression to her even though I reeked of sweat and blood. I didn't care about all that. All I wanted was to see her-to know that she was okay, that she didn't hate me for being gone for so long."Alpha," came mark's voice, uncertainty etched in his tone.I turned, my eyebrow furrowing. "What?" I growled under my breath"It's about your mate, Alpha," he muttered, his voice low and his eyes avoiding mine.Something was wrong. "What's become o

Chapter 9: Past encounter with the moon goddess.

Axel's POVThe soft buzzing of cicadas and the quiet whisper of leaves filled the air, feeling me with a sense of peace. My eyelids fell closed as I breathed in the sweet scent of serenity. But that feeling was short-lived as reality slowly broke through. My fists clenched, tension creeping within me as different emotions stirred within my heart.Exalia's face flashed before my thoughts, and a mixture of different emotion plagued me. I furrowed my brows. My connection with Exalia was nothing short of divine. I knew a mating bond was a clean one and sacred, one that could not be broken. But this bond felt like chains, holding me in ways I could not have predicted. My past sins seemed to torment my thoughts-memories I knew could sever the tie between me and Exalia or in the least make it unbreakable.A sudden memory flashed in my thoughts, and I stiffened.I had been in a foul mood that day, mourning the loss of one of my best fighters. Trying to vent my sorrow and anger, I had shifted a

Chapter 10: Unrestrained Elders.

Axel's POV"A council meeting?" I muttered to myself, my brows furrowing before shrugging.I shook off my distracting thoughts, before turning back to my pack house, the guard that had come to announce the meeting following closely behind me. After many trials and hardships, I had finally merged my pack with the Moon Launch Pack—Kiera's old pack. To my surprise, their Alpha had fled his mate even before the battle had begun. I grunted at the memory. How did that wimp become an Alpha? What a coward.Fortunately, Kiera still had the interests of the pack in mind. If not, I would not have proceeded with the merger and just killed off the entire pack. I walked into the pack house with heavy strides until I finally arrived at the council hall. The servant by the entrance pushed the door open after seeing me approaching and I entered confidently. The moment I entered, the once noisy hall immediately fell silent. Not sparing anyone a second glance, I took a seat on the middle chair on the o
