Lucian’s POV I watched as she came out of her room, then headed toward the exit of the pack, still confused about her retaliation. I tried to call her back but she ignored me.Confusion settled in my heart as I tried to make sense out of it, but everything was out of place, why would she be angry if I knew she was pregnant? I never said anything about living her alone. I might hate my brother but his offspring had nothing to do with the hatred for him.I flexed my jaw again, her fingers on my face caused a whole new level of pain. Everything about her just had to be complicated each time, she was impossible.Or maybe these were just those little issues that came with pregnancy? How would I know? I leaned on the wall of my chambers, as I watched communicate with the people in the pack, totally disregarding my presence. The chef had mentioned that she woke up feeling sick, maybe she was having mood swings. She couldn't comprehend anything and must have expected me to be shocked, it was

Lucian’s POV After six years of being a rogue, I have learned a lot, from the betrayal of a sibling to that of commoners. I knew people who could betray me just by looking at them, and after my last conversation with Alice, I knew she was going to do something. For a wolf like her, suffering from detachment from her mate, it was going to take her more than the death of her mother to make her see that not every mate bond could be rejected passively. After I hinted that Alex wasn’t the reason for the drought and the fire outbursts I suspected I had given her enough reasons to forgive him. And waking up to the news that the borders of the pack were intruded at night was my confirmation. She was smart, I would give her that, but not smart enough to know no one leaves the pack, not under my watch.Earlier today, the guards noticed a sneaky move at the borders. Alice tried to run away with her little niece as an accomplice, which happened to be futile in the process because I was also info

Selene’s POV I slept, for a while but half heartedly this time, after the last encounter with Lucian, I couldn’t get myself to stop thinking about what he said. And the little feeling in my heart that still remained warm.I couldn’t comprehend why, but somehow I chose to repel whatever it was that I felt, I only needed his permission to build a greenhouse, and he had done enough, I could do the rest myself, with time.We might not be able to grow the crops as fast as we wanted to, but I could still grow them. Within a month, I didn’t want to owe him any more favors than I already did, I didn’t want to feel obligated to him or attached. So as I stood up from my bed, I reached out for a sheet of paper at the corner of the bed, he stated that he needed the list for the fertilizers, I planned on giving it to him, but mostly in a manner he had no option than to reject it.I was planning on making it hard to achieve, so I stated some plan based fertilizers which I had back in eclipse pack,

Lucian’s POVI didn’t entirely find that aspect of her life interesting.“Did Jullian occasionally visit you?” There was a lump in my throat as I spoke. What guarantee do I have that Selene wouldn’t desire a male counterpart while in this circle.“Yes he did, but we were on a routine, each wife had the day they stayed with him, and if it happens that we desire strongly to be with him we might trade places and favors.” I cleared my throat and I moved on the chair, my eyes barged hurriedly. That was something I couldn’t satisfy, what if she decides to have someone in the pack due to the heat of pregnancy, winter is coming either way, she would need someone to warm her human side.“Chief, you look flushed, are you okay?” “Yes, I am thankful, you can leave now.” She bowed before she left, and as I watched into the distance I thought about everything, the movement of the child as it ages, the emotional turmoil, I was close to my mother as a child, but during the birth of Alex, I was fa

Lucian’s POV I fought with the pack guards at the borders. Not only did they lose my scarf, they had taken the bracelet I bought alongside a picture, I found out right after the trance, I was paranoid and I needed to take back everything they took which led to a fight and the bruise she desperately wanted to heal. But I could not let it happen, the poison had surpassed my arms and I could feel it around my chest. If she touched it, she would notice my blood stream was infected but she was too stubborn and wouldn’t listen.I had subconsciously entered the healers ward at the sight of her, I wanted to give her the bracelet I bought, but seeing her and remembering the outcome of my hallucinations, I had a change of heart, I was still hurt by it, I knew it wasn’t real but somehow it made my heart weigh with so much pain.I was way past it already, I knew she wouldn’t go back to Alex. I was certain but somehow the betrayal stuck with me. It taunted me so much and it messed with my mind,
