His Boss's Partner의 모든 챕터: 챕터 1 - 챕터 10

Chapter Two Blake's Pov As I watched Marianne leave the next morning, a weight lifted from my shoulders. I couldn't pinpoint the exact emotion, but joy was certainly part of it. For months, I had longed to be free of her presence, but the fear of disappointing my parents had kept me from taking action. Now, with the divorce papers signed, I was finally rid of the burden that was my wife. "Good riddance," I muttered under my breath, turning away from the window. "Now I can finally move on with my life.” I called my boss at work and explained to him that I won't be coming to work today. Luckily, he accepted. I just want to celebrate today with my girlfriend. “Hello Grace, start coming, we need to celebrate, Marianne has left” I said as she picked up the call. “Whoa! I'll be right over” I ended the call and poured myself a drink. It was time to celebrate, after all. A knock at the door brought me back to reality. "Come in," I called, a smile spreading across my face.

Today, I would submit my CV to apply for the position of accountant at Homeland Company. It was time to start over, to prove to myself that I was more than Blake's dutiful wife. I am a skilled accountant with a Ph degree, and I will be able to succeed with it.I rose from the bed, my feet hitting the cold floor with a soft thud.I made my way to the big bag, rooting through the contents in search of my CV."Good morning," Anna's voice broke the silence. "What are you looking for?”“You are awake, Good Morning. I am looking for my CV. I have made up my mind already, I am going to apply for the position of an accountant in a Homeland company” I said with boldness in my voice.“Whoa! That's very good. You made a good decision. A wise decision at that” Anna said, stretching her body.“Yeah, I really want to forget about him and I don't want us to talk

Chapter SixI noticed she wasn't happy when she saw the message but there was nothing I could do.Anna's face betrayed her concern as she handed my phone back to me. “A dinner with the CEO? Marianne, are you sure about this?”“I didn’t ask for it. He just offered it as a thank you,” I said, trying to reassure her.“Still, it’s unusual. Are you sure you’re comfortable with this?” Anna pressed.“I think so. I’m just focusing on doing my job well,” I replied.“You can turn him down, I do not think he would get angry with that. Try to give yourself respect, value yourself”“Thank you Anna” I said, closing the conversation.***It was time for me to leave but I do not like the fact that Anna had been staring at me, as if she was expecting me to say somewhere.I went to the bathroom to take a bath.I came out, and I dressed up in a short and elegant gown. My gown wasn't looking too casual and not too formal.Anna watched me as I stepped out.“Goodbye, I'll be back soon” I tried saying in a

Chapter Eight It was the next morning, Marianne was still asleep when Anna had woke up to prepare for work already. The sound of her plates crumble, woke Marianne up. Marianne stretched her hand as she woke up, “Why are you dressed this early? What's the time” she took up her phone to check the time “It's 7:30 am and I am still sleeping” she said as she removed the duvet from her body, running to the bathroom. “Why didn't you wake me up, Anna?” Marianne said, while running to the bathroom. “I forgot,” she said, rushing her food. Minutes after Marianne came out of the bathroom, “Probably because I came back late yesterday, the time is going already” Anna drank water, and took her bag from the table, “I am going to be going now, see you later” she said and exited the door. Marianne was rushing that she couldn't eat. She left home and to Anna surprised she got there before her. Marianne reached the office, feeling slightly disoriented from her rushed morning. She w

Chapter Ten“Anna, why are you doing this to me?” She asked with a pitiful face, “This is unfair, I thought you wanted to help me, where do you want me to go now?”“You thought I wanted to help? Really? So what I have done, I haven't helped right? You stayed in my place for three weeks and I helped you look for work, I haven't helped you?”“I didn't say you haven't helped me, where do you want me to go?”“Go back to your husband and child, go and beg him.
