RhysI couldn't get the image of her cradling an unconscious pup while wrapped in that blanket out of my head. Neither could I stop stalking her even now.I'd been in the dungeons interrogating one of the rogues. A lot of them had been straying into my territory recently and it made me antsy. My gut told me that something was wrong. Something was coming and it had to do with Devon's death. What did I need to do to let the world know that I wasn't interested in becoming Alpha Prime? I didn't want anything to do with that position. Yet someone out there was sending spies into my territory. It was obvious that they had already started hunting for the Crest, even before the new Alpha of Creekside was crowned. And those greedy people suspected me most of all because they believed that I wanted it the most. I didn't blame them. In public, my relationship with the Old Alpha looked horrible. When he was still fit, we argued and almost always fought.I accused him of everything under the su

DawnThey led me to a Lab that contained everything I needed. I was impressed by the sheer size of it. It was also well-equipped. Creekside didn't have anything like that in all its years. Mother had some tubes for mixing herbs, but that was it. The lab was dusty and full of cobwebs. According to them, it had been locked up for decades. The triplets looked spooked and refused to enter the Lab with us. Even Kaden looked a tad uncomfortable.“What's wrong?” I asked, clearing the cobwebs with my arms.“Rhys boarded this place up after both his parents died and banned everyone from coming here or even mentioning it. It belonged to his mother.” Kayla said from the door. I froze. “Yeah?” I asked, my voice breaking.A beat of silence passes before I turn around. “You know what? Let's go to the infirmary. I can borrow some containers from the kitchen. Or just simply crush them, mix the pulp in water and strain it out. We don't need the lab.”Princess dragged my arm, “Rhys wouldn't mind. Be

DawnWe waited around for about 10 minutes before Kaden instructed us to move. We slipped casually out through wide, winding hallways until we got to the backdoor. There was no living soul in sight. Even my wolf couldn't feel anyone close by. It amused me. Delta's were very efficient. We found the triplets lounging outside the door, looking bored. “What did you say about training with us?” Tayla asked, linking her arms with mine. Kaden grunted and Princess rolled her eyes. “Leave her alone. Don't put ideas in her head now.” Princess warned.Tayla smirked and exchanged looks with her sisters, who had similar expressions.“And before we forget.” They said simultaneously, then laughed. We all turned towards them. “Forget what?” Kaden asked impatiently. “Marcus is around.” Layla completed.Princess stopped short. “When?” She gasped.“I just got here.” A familiar voice said smugly. We found Marcus standing by the entrance of the Pack house, with folded arms and a deep frown.Seeing him

RhysShe had become a lot more attractive. She'd put on a little flesh, and there was color on her skin. Her hair blew in the wind, and I itched to run my hands through it. Dawn had always been a sight for sore eyes. But now she was goddamn breathtaking. And it only took two weeks for this transformation to occur. She'd somehow worked her way into the heart of my pack and was everyone's sweetheart. The most surprising thing was seeing her work in my mother's lab. Lex told me of it, and I was so pissed that I rushed down to rip her out of it.Yet, I stopped short at the sight of her smiling and humming in an unfamiliar but beautiful tone. I stood transfixed. I didn't know what she was working on, but this was the most relaxed I'd ever seen her.She drifted around happily like some sort of fairy. I finally understood why my father insisted that the walls of the Alchemy lab be transparent. He could stand and watch her work for hours while forgetting to do his own work. I'd found it unn

DawnThe attention that I got after helping the kids was insane. I was invited to every social gathering and every event. Rhys' decree helped a lot because I was able to mingle with pack members. My days have become pretty busy. After breakfast, I joined some female nobles who were in charge of bestowing knowledge about the Luna position for lessons. It was a bit weird because I had no experience whatsoever. Plus, there were very beautiful female nobles who'd been trained since birth for a position that I was tossed into in the same lesson. By virtue of my marriage to Rhys, I was treated above them, and I could feel their distaste, jealousy, and anger. Even the tutors regarded me in an odd way. Thankfully, Rhys' decree kept them from expressing how they truly felt. After the dreadful lessons that sometimes involved practicals and outings, I retreated to the lab and spent most of my time in it. It was my favorite place in the world.I'd wander into the forest with the triplets trail

RhysI found myself in her room, frowning as I pretended to inspect the place as they fixed the door. I also instructed them to include a connecting passageway to my room and conceal it from her.Her room felt like home. Everything was perfect, from the pale blue gradient on her walls to the silver bookshelf and the window nook. The room was bathed in her scent that my wolf had grown to obsess over. When I ripped the doors away and bathed in earlier, I stopped short at the transformation. It was beautiful and much like her. She was sleeping soundly in my room now, and I Itched to go and check on her. But that was against the rules I gave myself and everyone. It was as if I'd fallen into a trap that I had set for myself, and the worst part was that I wasn't sure I wanted to escape the trap. Without even trying, she called me, and I couldn't help but answer. I ground my teeth as the bitter memory of her drifting away. We thought she had fallen asleep, but suddenly, she started choki

DawnMy wrists hurt even when I awoke. It was like someone used hot needles to draw a tattoo on both of them.Groaning, I pushed myself up and forced my eyes open to stare at them. My vision was blurry at first until it cleared up. As soon as I could see clearly, the pain was gone.I rubbed my wrists testily, There was no sign of pain. My skin was smooth and soft. There were no bumps that showed any indication of the pain I'd felt.Weird. I thought. The door flew open and Princess dashed in. I blinked. What was I doing here? Didn't Rhys tear down that door or did I imagine everything?“Oh my gosh. You're finally awake.” She exclaimed.“Hi.” I croaked.“I'm really sorry. I shouldn't have allowed you to follow me.” She apologized.“Nah. It's fine. I overreacted.” I responded still trying to put the pieces of what happened in the past few days together. She shook her head. “Overreacted? No. I'm just grateful that you're out of that useless pack.”“Mmmm,” I mumbled, then blew a breath

DawnI woke up to the sound of deep rumbling. Once again, my wrists hurt and my vision was foggy. This time the pain didn't stop after I opened my eyes. Harsh streaks of sunlight threatened to blind me, while my wrists felt like they were being sewn in with silver.I stifled a sob and touched the right one. A jolt of silvery pain shot through my finger as I made contact with it. There was no physical sign on my wrists but the finger I'd used to touch it was badly injured. It hurt so much that I found myself rushing back to the stream I'd used the night before to douse my burning hands in.The pain dissipated as soon as I submerged my hands in the cool water. I threw my head back and tried to bite back my tears. What was this? It only seemed to get worse. My hands remained in the flowing water for a long time. I was scared to pull it out because the pain might return. It was only after several minutes had passed that I realized how late I was. The rays of the morning sun filtered thro

RhysFear couldn't begin to describe what I felt last night. I'd been hunting Marcus down when they informed me that Dawn had disappeared. I immediately skidded to a stop. I couldn't understand what they were talking about. How on earth had she gone missing? To make matters worse no one recalled seeing her. Her scent wasn't anywhere but in her room. I would have waived it off and continued my pursuit of my dubious uncle who remained elusive, but I already knew that for Kaden to inform me, it was getting out of hand.I split up with my hunting team and doubled back to the Packhouse. The triplets were already combing the forests. Lex was checking the pack boundaries for possible signs of trespassing. It was going to be difficult for anyone to track her since we had yet to bind her to Golden Crest.Kaden was certain that she was abducted. He believed it had something to do with Marcus or the Crest. Princess, however, was quiet and pensive. As soon as I stepped into Dawn's room, I und

DawnInstead of turning out to be the punishment that I thought it was, spending a week in my room became a blessing. It meant I stopped going for the Luna lessons which I'd come to despise. It was obvious that I was never going to have or completely copy the poise and etiquette that the noble females embodied and exuded. Frankly, I was tired. So instead of dragging myself to their daily insufferable lessons, I lay in my room and was supplied daily with books about etiquette and history to read.Sure, I missed the lab more than anything, there were a few concoctions I was supposed to make but reading was fun.According to Lex, who enjoyed policing me around from outside my door, Rhys was out of Golden Crest for important business. And so he was in charge. He threatened me daily and promised that he wouldn't take my nonsense. Most of the time, I blocked him out and ignored him.I hadn't even known that my punishment included no interactions with anyone but him. I hadn't seen either P
