Chapter 121

Dame’s POVIt took a while for my eyes to adjust to the chaos. For a moment I thought my house was on fire. The very house that I had sorted the design myself after tearing it down from the old design to create a masterpiece. My legs wobbled as I breathed hard in a hide to get a hold of myself. Behind the raving fire was Jean tossing things into it to make it blow more. My mouth was agape in utmost shock when I looked down at one of the things she threw and it happened to be one of my expensive wristwatches. Wait a minute, this bitch is actually burning my stuff. My concern was replaced with anger. I stomped my feet towards her angrily. Without thinking I slapped her hard across the face. Everyone around gasped loudly. Jean put a hand to her face and before I could strike another blow she ran off. “Have you all gone mad? Get some water and quench the fire, you stupid peasants. How dare you all just stand by and watch her make a mess of my things? You had better have that dead in a

Chapter 122

Kate’s POV I sucked my teeth in irritation as I stared at my wristwatch again. Dame should be sacked right this minute and told never to step foot into the company ever again. He is never available when he is needed.  We were supposed to have a meeting with investors today and he knew just how important this is.  But what can I expect of someone like him who is so engrossed with himself and cares nothing about others? Myself and a few heads of departments plus Lance have been seated like morons for minutes and he is still unreachable. I am still reeling from his attempt to touch me in his office over an hour ago that I am quite in the mood to smack his face and talk sense into his numb skull.

Chapter 123

Jean’s POV I woke up with an intense ache in the side of my head. As I managed to sit up, someone rushed to my side to hand me a glass of water. I drank it with relish before adjusting my eyes to the room.  “Beta Lance,” I muttered in a croaky voice.  “Hi there.” He smiled tightly. “How are you feeling?”  I sat up gently feeling aches all over my body and for a moment my face felt stiff. “I feel wrecked.”&nbs

Chapter 124

Kate’s POV “He is nothing short of a beast. I can’t believe Jean went through all of that in his hands. What was she thinking?” I ranted, taking a swig at my can of soda. It seemed like the only thing I could let settle in my belly.  Lois crunched on his bowl of chips. “I know this might sound cruel of me, but I can’t feel sorry for her. She got herself into this. If only you know how much trouble she causes herself. Jean would go around the pack like a maniac looking for her husband. She is practically obsessed with him.”  The sight of the two of them in such hea

Chapter 125

Mark’s POV “Get your fucking hands off me!” Rayna blurted as I slammed the door shut.  I pushed her backwards breathing hard. “Have you lost your mind? What the hell do you think you are doing? Do you plan to ruin my family?”  She cackled like a maniac. “What stupid family? A family on their way to commit incest.”  “Shut the hell up! Just shut that trap that you call a mouth! I have been trying to put up with you but you do everything to ruin it. What

Chapter 126

Dame’s POV Opening my eyes felt like pure torture. The room appeared to blur at first before it cleared out. My wolf growled underneath. I tried to sit up and my body moved painfully and slowly like I had been hit by a load of brick. Adjusting myself properly, I let out a slow exhale. It took me a moment to notice Lance sitting with his legs crossed on the couch opposite the bed.  My throat scratched painfully as I managed to swallow some spittle. He stood up and poured me a glass of water. Drinking it slowly, I cleared off the cloud in the throat.  “How long have I been unconscious?” I

Chapter 127

Jean’s POV “I allowed your mother in. Ensure she doesn’t do something as silly as making any recording of anything. I have had just about enough of every one of you today.” Lance stated with evident irritation in his voice. I nodded slowly, avoiding his eyes. “Thank you.”  He didn’t respond and left the room. Moments like this make me realize that I have no one to lean on except my mother. Since the packhouse is still on lockdown. I had to beg Lance to allow her into the house while promising she wouldn’t go overboard. The maids and guards are whining subtly

Chapter 128

Dame’s POV “How are you feeling?” Kate asked her hand caressing my hair.  It felt beautiful having that subtle touch around me. The only kind of peace that I require at the moment. She had come by the house to see me and her appearance had me thinking of the many things that I could do to her.  “I feel good now that you are here,” I replied, trailing my finger on her thigh.  She shifted a bit putting her hand down. “How long did the doctor say you would be in bed

Chapter 129

Chapter 129 Jean’s POV I could feel their eyes staring intently at the red scars trailing my back. Most especially Dame’s that seemed to be burning through my skin. Some of the scars aren’t real, but still, it doesn’t matter as I intend to milk this situation until it goes flat. Satisfied that they must have had enough look. I put my shirt back on and turned to see their bewildered faces.   Elder Nicholas was the first to speak. “Might I ask, why did he trash you like this?”

Chapter 130

Mark’s POV “Kate!” I hollered from the garden as she got out of her car. She turned to look at me and smiled politely. From the way her shoulders slumped, I could tell she had a rough day. “Do you think it is still appropriate to call out to her?” My wolf asked. I shrugged. “There is no harm in trying. Come on Kate.” I called out again, gesturing for her to come to me. With a small smile, she walked down to me. I could see her face well and she looked very tired. I pulled out a chair for her to sit in quickly. “Bad day at work?” I asked pouring her a cup of tea from my flask. She mouthed a thank you sipping it cautiously. “Hmmn, this tastes really good.” “It’s jasmine tea. Helps you relax. I drink it to keep my mind settled while I paint. Do you want to talk about it?” Kate gave me a look that showed she was surprised that I was offering such help. It made me shy. “I didn’t mean to meddle. It is okay if you don’t want to talk about it.” I muttered hurriedly. She eventually gri
