Chapter 111

~Asher~ “It’s his choice, I can’t do anything about it.” I tried repeating in my head as I was about going nuts with the last image of Jaden running happily to meet with Tristan. There was nothing as cold and hurtful as that, I couldn’t do anything but just looked and passed by like it wasn’t a big deal. It was a big deal and now I was clearly getting my own taste of bitter rejection. I F**king have myself to blame no matter what I really had In mind. Days turned into a week and I still haven’t gotten a response from Hazel. They were now in control as it was their decision to give me a chance or withhold it. This was the only way I could get to talk with Jaden, since going over there and sitting in his room doesn’t look like it would yield any change. And I had a feeling he was going to come up with a way to keep me out once he found out it was going to become a regular. “Alpha?” He knocked lightly on the door before coming in with all smiles. “Leo, h

Chapter 112

~Asher~ I finally came out of the office in a hurry, I couldn’t miss this or be late either. She’s giving me a week and we didn’t need to come back on time meaning I could take him out. “You’re driving” I ordered in a hurry, tossing the keys to Ross as he fell behind me trying not so hard to keep up with my pace. Even if It was just the opportunity staring up at me and not amounting to any changes I was fine with it as long as I get to meet him as going to meet Jaden in a hurry wouldn’t guarantee anything yet. A week was a lot and I’ve had enough time to think of what to say to him or do. I also can not tell him about getting a new heart. I can tell he was way too smart for that and would think that I was only telling him that because I wanted him to open up to him. “Where are we going?” He finally asks as he stepped on the gas after telling him to drive the fastest he can. “Where else do you think could get me this worked up and in a hurry?” “Oh th

~Asher ~ That he was thrown aback and with the look on his face right now I knew there wasn’t going to be ever any argument or a doubting Thomas as my beta. “How could you tell?” Jaden was clearly backing us and fairly a distance away. I looked up at him as I tried to mask my happy face with a confused one. Don’t tell me he could recognize my back anywhere too. Now who’s beta of the year? “I was looking directly at his face before the chubby one there came and he suddenly backed us before you turned to check.” “Is that really possible? How are you standing here and there at the same time?” He looked frozen where he was as he refused to remove his eyes from Jaden’s back. I just hope no one notices and comes to question us because he was making us look very suspicious with his eyes fixed on a child in a school full of lycans teachers where they could easily and quickly point us out. Wait… that’s true. We’ve been here for quite a while and no one has come to po

Chapter 114

~Hazel~ “How are we really going to plan a party without him knowing? I mean he’s very observant, we’ve never done one without him finding out just in time.” All I could hear were complaints about how observant Jaden was and they weren’t lies. It was a good thing but in most cases for us and in other cases it wasn’t so good as we’ve never been able to successfully pull off a surprise party for him before without him finding out just in time. “Don’t worry about it, I’m so sure that it's going to work out this time around and we’ll all be surprised.” I was putting all my hope on Asher and he better not fail me. We didn’t actually need the whole week to plan a surprise but to catch him by surprise so he wouldn’t suspect a thing. With Asher with him all day trying to mend a relationship that might take weeks or forever, it was just the perfect distraction as all his mind would think of was how he didn’t want Asher around. I wanted him to sort whatever it was

Chapter 115

~Asher~ It’s been days since I've been going to pick up Jaden and he still hasn't spoken since his last words to me on the first day. And that wasn’t a problem as I was still overwhelmed and was happy he would still drive round with us before going home. I could say that Ross had a bond that I wished I had with Jaden but I wouldn’t rush him. He had a way with my boy and Jaden answered a few of his questions leaving me completely out and would be quiet if I was the one asking. I was still a lot glad that I was able to hear him speak as Ross at every single opportunity tried to engage him in conversations for my sake. At least I have new information now as they talked about how lately he’s intrigued to try drawing a car as he’s never really drawn but only done painting. Ross's eyes moved knowingly and with a small smile as he found out other similar traits between us. They always talked leaving me completely out of their conversation and I sat there through

Chapter 116

~Hazel~“What do you mean if he’s here?” I could feel my voice faltering as we stood still and frozen with surprised faces staring straight at Asher who wasn’t being the best comedian right now. I watched him think it through as he placed his hand on his forehead in confusion as he turned around trying to make out places where we could have hid him. “Talk to me Asher! Where the hell is my son? What have you done to him? What do you mean if he’s here? Explain because I’m lost!” How I could get all the questions out in one sentence wasn’t my concern right now as my hands faltered and my head spun in a circle as I tried to understand what was going on. “Please Rose get him to tell us what’s happening?” I held her shoulders with the last strength in me as my legs weakened and the tears fought and flowed down freely from my cheeks. Not again! Not Jaden. “Calm down Hazel, I'll find him and make sure he’s safe.” I could hear the uncertainty in his voice but I allow

Chapter 117

~Hazel~ After a lot of worrying and my face trying to remain calm as I was torn to shreds already on the insides but still chose to look the opposite from what my insides were looking like right now. The facts were just there as it was all pointing to Asher. And Tristan wasn’t being the calmest as he was totally against Asher’s idea of staying over till he could figure something out. I allowed them to do whatever they thought they were doing as my mind travelled to a lot of places in a minute as I wondered where exactly my baby could be and what he was doing. He had gone through all the lengths to convince me that he didn’t have a hand in whatever this is and was trying to force his way into staying, claiming it was his son we were talking about. I didn’t have the time and strength to give any reply to him with what I had in mind as it was just at the tip of my tongue to mutter those words at him that could break every limb of his body. What if it was truly

Chapter 118

~Asher~ My eyes watched her carefully and silently until she fell asleep. I wish she could sleep through it all as the fight and hurt in her eyes could not be mistaken as she tried to put up a facade to cover up everything. I could tell how broken she was and it was normal but the feeling and thoughts that I might just be behind this once again wasn’t doing anything to calm me down. After much thinking I carried her carefully in my arms and took her back to her house and laid her carefully on her bed and she didn’t notice or move through it all. I was thinking I’ll have a lot of explaining to do if she wakes up halfway and catches sight of me trying to place her gently on the bed. She didn’t wake up but looked nervous even in her sleep as she kept mummering for Jaden to come back. I left her there after confirming she wouldn’t wake up anytime soon and moved to Jaden’s room. I stood still at the door wide open, refusing to enter just at once as I might re

Chapter 119

~Hazel~ I didn’t know how I slept off or when I slept off but I woke up on my bed and as the first light hit my eyes it all came rolling back with distinctive pictures. I was hoping secretly that it was all a nightmare and everything that happened the day before wasn’t real. But who was I kidding, the moon goddess never had me as her favourite and couldn’t personally just wave this off for me. I stood up, holding it all in, reminding myself that I needed to be strong and not break down for anyone as I needed to be strong to get Jaden back. I walked out of my room and stood in front of his closed door as I was faced straight at it and I didn’t know what to do or say. By now I should either be knocking to enter his room to get him ready for school or if as it should have been, we should have been talking about his birthday presents from yesterday and how surprised he was. I should be staring at his face with the cutest smile on it, with those smart and bright features

Chapter 120

~Asher~ “You are certain he was a wolf?” I stood firmly with my eyes watching Mrs Sally closely like a hawk. I could feel her a little shaken under my gaze as she was nervous or maybe just a little frightened. I got earlier information from Hazel and I know that she’s the least person to suspect and didn’t have a reason to lie or any of that sort. “Yes Mr stone. I can always tell a wolf from a lycan and besides his scent was very distinct to miss it.” We’ve gone round this, asking the same questions over and over again. It was still the same answer and she didn’t waver with it. I had to make sure she knew what she was talking about so I avoided Hazel's confirmation and went the old way and continued repeating the question with every next tone rising higher than the first. She was supposed to be caught unaware and under the pressure of wanting to answer me as the speed I asked each question was enough to let her switch roles if she was lying or wasn’t sure of wha
