Chapter 10Watching Tanya flitter about the functions room chattering with our guests, I sigh and slam back the whisky I was sipping on. Ten days has passed since Brynlee left. Ten days of yelling at Tanya every time she snapped at a pack member for doing their job. At one point I thought she was flirting with a Warrior that was just getting off of patrol, but my father talked some sense into me. Chapter 11.2Looking down at the clipboard in my hand, I sigh and close my eyes. It has been two hours since we agreed to help Golden Fang and I am already feeling the toll of what was left from the attack. When we arrived at the pack - the structure thankfully only having minimal damages from the attack house - and met with an Omega that thankfully gathered clipboard and pens for us, Miss Asteria gathered the able bodied wolves with the help of Quincy and asked for a report of damages, wounded and the deceased. Sadly, we were met with hostilities until Quincy vouched for us, stating that Alpha Stanton was the one to invite us to join the pack and that we were here to help now. Chapter 13The sudden sounds of “Monster” from Epic: The Musical blares from my phone, scaring me awake to the point I roll of the bed. Letting out a long sigh, I push myself off the floor and glare at my cellphone. I had stayed up late into the night with the Golden Fang wolves as we watched the pyre burn. Once all the flames had died down, I helped collect the ashes that we buried into the earth under the large willow tree just outside of the pack house. By the time everything was done, it was well past midnight and I hobbled my way into an empty bedroom on the third floor of the pack house, claiming it as my temporary space. Miss Asteria had sent Gale with two of my suit cases just before I fell asleep from exhaustion, telling me to call if I need them.Now that the sun light filters into the room through the dingy windows, I realize this place could use a good cleaning. Chapter 15“Brynlee!” Turning to the sound of someone calling my voice, I spy Quincy running towards me with a deer – a buck to be precise – over his shoulders. I laugh as the horn of the buck he caught hits him unexpectedly upside the head and he stumbles before slowing down to a walk. It seems his enthusiasm nearly caused Quincy to injure himself.“Nice catch, the pack will enjoy the meals this buck will provide.” I praise my friend who gives me a wolfish grin. Three days has passed since Alastor visited us and the pack has finally finished with clearing away rubble from the attack.“I know. I can’t wait for some good deer stew.” Quincy exclaims excitedly. Chapter 17“What do you mean Golden Fang won’t let anyone near their borders!” My hand freezes in the air as I pause my intended knocking. I had gotten a report from the Council about Golden Fang rebuilding their pack and that they have chosen their new Alpha and Luna.
