Chapter 61

BrielleI was in absolute silence- thick, suffocating, the kind of quiet that makes your skin crawl. And then the blood came. It was all over my hands, warm and dripping down my hands forming a pool around me. I was stood in the middle of it all and I was surrounded by dead bodies- there were too many bodies to be able to count. At first, I could not recognize the bodies, their faces were twisted in pain and their lifeless bodies lay on the floor. But thenI saw Micah. He was in my hands and his body was unmoving as he stared up at me with empty eyes.“No,” I let out, my voice cracking and barely above a whisper as I fell to my knees, holding him tight against me. “No. This cannot be real.”But it was real. I could feel his cold skin against mine, death was smelling in the air she it was all so horrifying and real. I wanted to shout at the top of my voice but no sound came out as I opened my mouth. And then, I saw the others. Zadyre’s lifeless body was close to me, his eyes empty she b

Chapter 62

Brielle After we pulled away from the hug, Zadyre led me to the room but I was still feeling anxious. When we got to the room and he closed the door behind us, he closed the distance between us once again and hugged me tightly as he tried to calm me down. “It’s okay, Brielle,” he whispered in a low, gruff voice. “I’m here and everything is fine. So, please calm down.”I nodded my head as I hugged him tighter and buried my face into his chest. I let my guard down and felt every emotion I was so afraid to feel. All of it. And Zadyre held me through it, steady and unyielding.“I thought I lost you,” I admitted in a broken whisper. “I was so close to-“ My voice caught, the memory of nearly killing Micah still too fresh, too raw.“You didn’t,” Zadyre said softly, brushing his fingers through my hair. “You’re still here. With me.”His words gave me hope and pulled me out of my dark thoughts. I pulled away and looked up into his eyes that were staring down at me. His eyes were filled with

Chapter 63

Brielle Many nights adter everything that had happened, I was still having nightmares about the same thing but in different ways. I was getting tired of sleeping and being met with a gruesome image but I didn’t know what do. I woke up with my heart beating widely and my breathing uneven. I thought I had another nightmare, but things felt different. I looked around and realized I was in the middle of the woods. The smell hit me first- metallic and suffocating. Then I felt it- a sticky wetness on my hands and body. I looked at my body slowly at the sight made my stomach churn. I was covered in blood. I let out a gasp as my chest tightened. My hands were trembling as I tried my best to wipe the blood away in a hurry, but it was too much. It was everywhere. When I looked around the woods, my heart fell into my stomach. The bodies of different animals surrounded me, their body was lifeless and twisted in inhumane ways. Blood was gushing out of them and it pooled together, shining unde

Chapter 64

Zadyre I was walking around the room, my head swirling with different thoughts. Brielle had come into the house a little past midnight with bloodied hands and body. “Brielle… what happened? Where are you coming from?” I had asked her but she didn’t say anything, all she did was cry. I had walked towards her and pulled her into a hug, I did not care that my body was going to be stained with the blood that was on her. After I pulled away from her, I had carried her up to our room and helped wash off the blood and dirt on her body and wore comfortable clothes for her. She was now sitting at the edge of the bed with her head in her hands. She looked so exhausted. I did not like seeing her the way she was looking, she looked so lost and broken. She looked fragile took, like a glass that was about to break and I had no idea how to repair her. I stopped pacing and walked to the bed. When I got to her, I knelt in front of her and I rested my hands on her knees. “Baby,” I called out to her

Chapter 65

Brielle I sat quietly on Damon’s bed until he and Zadyre returned back to the room from wherever they went. They were looking suspicious but I just pushed the thoughts away, if it mattered, Zadyre would tell me. “Let’s go baby so you can get some rest,” Zadyre said as he walked over to me she led me out of the room. He communicated with Damon silently and I didn’t bother to know what they were saying. We went back to the room and I tried all day to get some sleep but I just couldn’t. It had gotten dark and I knew I was either going to have a nightmare or sleep walk and do something dangerous. I didn’t want that to happen so I found a way to tie myself to the bed. The ropes were tight and uncomfortable against my skin but it was better than the fear of what I might do if I lost control. Damon had promised he was working on a solution, but until then, I needed to keep myself restrained. I couldn’t risk waking up to another horror. I tugged against the ropes, testing the knots. The

Chapter 66

Brielle
When my eyes met with Sebastian’s, he sent me a cold smile. He looked like had been waiting for me and I had arrived just in time. But to my surprise, standing beside him was a woman I had never seen before. She was tall and had pale skin with dark hair and eyes and she also had a sinister smile playing on her lips. Her smile was like a knife- thin and dangerous.

My wolf growled low in my throat. Every instinct told me not to trust them, but I forced myself to keep calm. I couldn’t lose control now. Not yet. Not when I was so close.

Sebastian inclined his head slightly, a smirk curling on his lips. “You came,” he said softly, as if we were old friends sharing a secret.

The woman beside him let out a cold, tinkling laugh that made my hackles rise. “Look at her, half wolf already,” she cooed. “You must really be on edge, darling. Don’t worry- we don’t need your life. Just your powers.”

I bared my fangs, my voice coming out in a low, guttural snarl. “If you try anything,

“What are you-“ he started to say, but before he could finish, I moved.

I sprang from the circle, my body shifting into my wolf form mid-air. Claws extended, teeth bared, I lunged for the woman first. She didn’t have a chance to say anything before I lunged for her and pushed her to the floor.

Sebastian was saying something but I could not hear what he said. My wolf had taken over, the rage and power surging through me like wildfire. I was done playing nice.

The woman scrambled to her feet, shifting into her own wolf form- a sleek, dark creature with gleaming eyes. She snarled and lunged at me, but I was faster. I dodged her attack and slashed at her side with my claws, drawing blood.

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Zadyre burst into the clearing, Damon close behind him.

“Brielle!” Zadyre shouted, but I was too deep into the fight to respond.

The woman tried to reach for me but I dodged and hit her as we both fell to the ground. We both rolle

Chapter 68

Sixty- EightBrielle
I honestly could not remember the last time I was excited about anything. I was standing in front of my mirror, getting ready for the date with the help of Amelia. I was nervous and my heart was beating loudly against my chest but it was not from the fear I was used to. No, this was different. This was the kind of excitement that made my heart race, but in a good way- like the night was full of possibilities.

Zadyre had insisted that tonight be special. After everything we’d been through, after all the chaos and the fear, he wanted to take me out on a real date. A proper one.

Amelia was sitting on the bed as I fixed my hair in place. She looked at me with excitement also written all over her. “You look amazing, Brielle,” she said, rolling her eyes playfully. “I’m sure Zadyre’s jaw is going to hit the floor the moment he sees you.”

I chuckled, meeting her gaze through the mirror. “I hope so. It has been quite a while since we had a normal day.”

Chapter 69

Brielle
And before I could say anything, my head was covered with the bag in his hand, stiffing my voice.

“Let me go!” I twisted, kicking my legs out, but it was like striking iron. The hands were merciless, as they wrapped the bag around my face tighter than before. Their strength was relentless, suffocating.

I managed to jerk my arm free and swung it wildly, catching one of them across the face. “Get away from me!” I shouted, anger turning my voice raw.

The man I hit let out a breathe of frustration and his grip tightened. But before I could even try to move again, I felt a punch to my stomach and pain surged through me and my vision started blurring. They were relentless. Another hit struck my cheek, and then another, until my head swam and I could barely stay conscious. My vision became more and more blurry with each blow they hit me with but I refused to surrender, I tried to keep fighting against them.
They were not careful as the wrapped the bag tighter around my fa

Chapter 70

Brielle We’ll see, my dear. We’ll see.” Just as he said that’s, the door behind him opened and two people walked in, making the knots in my stomach tighten in even more. Sebastian entered first, his face twisted into a mocking smirk. He had this malicious glint in his eyes as he stared down at me where I was laying helplessly. Standing behind him was that same women we had captured him with, her face was not obvious but her aura was unmistakable. She felt all too familiar boy I just could not place my hands on it. Sebastian walked even closer to where I was and folded his arms across his chest as he looked at me with a wide smile. “Poor Brielle,” he said but his voice was filled with nothing but mockery. “Did you really think you’d win? That you’d somehow be able to escape us, let alone take us down?” He chuckled, shaking his head as though I were a child who had dared to imagine too big. “You’re even more stupid than I had imagined.” My mouth opened but before I could get my w
