Chapter 31: ProtectorElian StormI pushed Alena against her apartment door, kissing her deeply.God, I had missed this so much—her slender arms around my neck, her nimble fingers in my hair, her body pressed against mine, her soft lips on mine. I missed her so much it was crazy.What the hell was I thinking about so much? I loved her more than anyone else. I wanted to be with her. There should have never been any questions or rejections.I had a talk with my brothers who made me understand that there would always be negatives in life and I shouldn’t let that fear of something going wrong to dominate me. Meanwhile, I had let the fear of losing her again take control and pushed her away. All of that was stupid and cowardly.

Chapter 33: VacancyAlena FleurI was sleeping peacefully in Elian's arms until there was a knock on the door.I cracked an eye open to search for the clock in the room until it landed on one. It was only five-thirty in the morning.Who the hell has business with Elian so early in the morning?I tapped Elian on his arms that were wrapped around my bare waist, mumbling, "There's someone at the door. Open it."Elian grumbled something incoherent and rolled over to the side, indicating he didn't want to get up now.Giving him a kick in the shin, I sat up, my brain dysfunctioning. I put on the white shirt I had worn last night and went to get the door.

Chapter 35: New Assistant Alena FleurI ignored a call from Abigail and sighed. She must have heard from my mom that I asked her and Dad to come to visit me whenever they managed some time.I wasn't receiving Abigail's calls because I was still mad at her for hiding about my accident and being in partnership with my parents, so if I did receive her call and spilled any truth, she would most likely pass the words to my parents."You okay?" Elian asked, looking at me in concern.I nodded with a smile and looked back out the car window. We were currently on our way to the office."You don't look okay." He brushed a lock of my hair to get a proper look at my face.

Chapter 37: Understanding Alena Fleur"I'm sorry for lashing out yesterday," I apologized genuinely, but none of my parents were looking at me, which was honestly understandable. I acted like a brat last night.But I needed to speak to them with a calm head and make them see my point of view with hope for a better future.I took a deep breath and started again, "Mom, Dad, I meant everything I said yesterday, and I'm not going to take them back. However, I should have worded them nicely, instead of acting like an immature child. Maybe they burst out at once because I never had the chance to let them out before. Anyway, those may just sound like excuses, and I don't want that. That’s why I hope you will accept my apology because I genuinely feel horrible about it."

Chapter 39: BirthdayAlena Fleur"I got this covered. You take your mom home. That's more important," I said over the phone."Thanks a lot. I just wish Dad or Lance could be here so that I didn't have to dump all my work on you," Elian grimaced."It's fine. Just take care of her. I will handle everything in the office," I assured."I know. Thanks again. I gotta go now. Bye." He hung up, and I let out a sigh.I put my phone down and smiled down at it sadly, looking at the time that read eight. Only four hours till my birthday.I was pretty sure Elian forgot about it, and I didn't blame him for it one bit.
