After Brielle and Ocean were formally announced the winners of the tracking challenge, River congratulated her before quickly scurrying off. She had been hoping for an opportunity for the pair of them to talk following recent events, but as he dashed off before barely finishing his sentence, she found herself more confused than before. Politely excusing herself from the presence of the King and Queen, Brielle headed back to the castle grounds. It was only a short walk, but it was long enough for her to contemplate what had just happened. She couldn’t help but find it bizzarre that River appeared at the finish point so long after her. Sure, Ocean was quick.. but Kane was quicker. There wasn’t an ounce of her that believed it genuinely took River and Kane over an hour to track a singular scent. “What are you thinking?” Ocean perked up, also finding the whole ordeal slightly strange. “Do you think there’s a chance he.. let us win?” Brielle pondered, feeling uneasy just at the thought

The sun rose sooner than Brielle had hoped for, she wasn’t ready to leave Reid’s warm embrace. After completing the bond last night, the pair had spent the following hours talking, laughing and exploring each other further. Reid had opened up about his father and upbringing, allowing Brielle to feel closer to him than ever. The same horrified nausea she had felt when listening to his story’s reignited as she thought back. Many things made sense to her now. If she had endured the same torture her mates had, well she would feel the same apprehension about mate bonds as they initially did. She knew now more than ever that a conversation between her and River needed to happen sooner, rather than later. As soon as Reid’s death grip on her waist loosened, she would go and find him. Although as he pulled her back closer against his chest, she knew she wouldn’t be escaping any time soon. She melted into his embrace, instantly relaxed by his peachy scent. She smiled to herself, unable to r

River’s lips claimed Brielle’s in a greedy, passionate kiss that made her forget anything else. His fingers possessively wrapped around her throat, desperate to finally feel her. Brielle melted under him, embracing the warmth of his touch as she tangled her fingers in the back of his hair. River’s sandalwood scent filled the world around her, consuming every fibre of her being. He growled against her lips, intoxicated by her warm minty breath. Something unlocked within him, a raw primal need to feel her, taste her. He gripped her waist, digging his fingers into her skin, pulling her body against his so there wasn’t an inch between them. Brielle didn’t fight against him, instead moaning slightly as her body slammed against his rock-hard chest, causing River to let out a possessive snarl as her whimper drove him into into a frenzy. She’d never been kissed like this before, so animalistic and intense. Like they would die the second they stopped. There was nothing gentle about what th

King Nate and Queen Serena dashed out of their home in a hurry. Upon hearing River’s deafening cry, they had immediately awoken and scurried to their feet. Jacques followed them in suit with three pairs of shorts for the alphas, with Harlie and Scarlett close on his tail. The three alpha’s stormed back towards the castle, each casting a hopeful glance at their mate’s beta and gamma. Both Harlie and Scarlett shook their heads, alerting the triplets to the fact that their search within the castle grounds had come up empty. “What’s going on?” The Queen questioned with a frown, searching the younger wolves around her. “And where’s Alpha Brielle?” River’s jaw clenched shut, his eyes glowing darker than the night. Everything within him was shattering, every ounce of his body ached for his mate. “She’s gone.” He forced out, his own words cutting through him like a knife. “That fucking rogue.” Reid’s voice was venomous, laced with hatred for the man that led away his mate, as he put on a

Gladdis rushed to her room, leaving no time to spare. Her feet moved faster than she thought possible, determination to help the girl soaring through her. It was barely light out, the sun only just beginning to rise. Many of her coven would still be sleeping, she could only hope they would shortly wake and come to their aid. It had been a while since the coven had been reunited, there hadn’t been much need for the Fer Fung’s interference since the crowning of the current King and Queen. Even with the Queen’s battle against the previous Fae Queen, they had managed it on their own. However, Gladdis had told the King from the start that she wouldn’t be able to assist. That had been Queen Serena’s journey and a journey she had to take alone. Of course, Gladdis had left her daughter to assist the Queen during that time. Maddie wasn’t subject to the Fer Fung Coven, she was able to provide help freely. Gladdis let out a heavy sigh, frown lines forming on her forehead. It was risky reque

Brielle sat up in a rush, eyes wide like a deer caught in the headlights. She glanced down at the cream, duck-feathered duvet covering her, this wasn’t her bed?! She hastily pulled back the duvet, praying to the moon goddess that she was still in her own clothes. A rush of relief ran through her as she noticed she was still in the clothing she had gone to see River in. River… Brielle’s heart immediately sunk, an unsettled feeling developing at the pit of her stomach. He must have been devastated to wake up and find her no longer in his arms. They had finally put aside their stubborn egos and within hours, she had gone. Brielle suddenly felt cold, instantly missing her mate’s embrace. Ignoring the unbearable soreness against the flesh of her feet, Brielle scurried from beneath the sheets to gaze out the window. As her hands rested against the ledge, a sense of numbness washed over her. She didn’t need any further confirmation, the dozens of men parading their war wounds in a sullen

Rivers grip on the steering wheel tightened as they drove through the Amaris gate. The uneasy feeling gathering in the pit of his stomach only worsened with each passing moment, further moments where Brielle was out of his grasp. They had come so close, so incredibly close to finally being together and just when he had her in his arms, she was snatched from beneath him. It was taking every ounce of his self-control to remain calm, although he was on the verge of snapping at any moment. Seven SUV’s filled with the best of Blood Moon’s warriors followed behind him and his brothers, each filled with angst and ready to eliminate the threat which stole their new alpha. They had never met Brielle, but she was one of them now. No one hurt one of their own. River forcefully yanked the handbrake as he parked outside the castle, not caring in the slightest that he wasn’t in a parking spot and instead had just pulled up anywhere. He couldn’t climb out of the vehicle quick enough, with his b

“You’ll be split into three teams.” King Nathaniel announced to the sea of warriors before him. “We need to be able to remain in contact with each pack at all times, meaning the three packs need to be integrated. One will be led by myself, one will be led by the Blood Moon alpha’s and one will be led by David, Alpha Regent of Shadow.” David firmly nodded in the King’s direction, his game face never faltering as he folded his arms across his chest. Under usual circumstances, in Brielle’s absence, he would allow Harlie to step up as interim Alpha. But with his eldest’s life hanging in the balance, he couldn’t allow room for mistakes. “My group will take the west, River’s group will take east and David’s group will take south.” The King continued, surveying his eyes over the 300 hundred bodies. “Gladdis and the Fer Fung will be located north, in the neck of the forest. They will need to remove the cloaking enchantment placed on Zion’s hide out, but once this happens we have a matter of

Leaving no time to spare, the moment the cloaking enchantment was broken, warriors in their wolf form dashed towards the dirty grey architecture. The charcoaled, grey building was clear as day to them now. It was hard to believe this three level building wasn’t visible to the eye merely moments ago. But the building wasn’t the only revelation following the breaking of the spell, dozens and dozens of rogues surrounded the scene staring back at the warriors in a dazed state. Under usual circumstances, the element of surprise would have always been a priority. But in this scenario, there wasn’t any choice. Seemingly, as the three groups continued to gain a closer advantage, the confused rogues swiftly began transitioning into their wolf counterparts. One by one, with no fear in the world, they charged towards the warriors. Where they lacked in strength and numbers, their feral state made up for. Death didn’t frighten them. King Nathaniel’s wolf, Roman, was the first the shed blood. Ch
