VictoriåI stood there, staring back at him in the mirror with an unsure look plastered across my face. I was hesitant to say anything, just in case it costed me in the end. But if I stayed silent about what Milo had confessed, he'd use that to his advantage. Landon shook his head and stepped away then grabbed a suit, hanging it in the middle of the closet then grabbing some shoes and putting them next to it.I chose to be vague, giving myself time to spit out the truth slowly."There's this guy that I started getting this really weird vibe from," I explained, walking back out into the bedroom and sitting on the bed. "And I wanted to leave because of it."He walked past me and sat on the chair by the window, a stone cold look on his face as he stared at me."He admitted some really terrible stuff to me and told me that I couldn't tell anyone," I continued, playing with a strand of my own black hair. "Or my friends would end up dead and so would I." "Tell me who it is." His deep voice

His Reasons

Victoria I sighed and stripped out of my remaining clothing, stepping into the shower and allowing my worries to disappear for just a second. When I was finished, I put my clothes into the hamper there and dried off my skin, walking out of the bathroom to find Landon standing in the closet, trying to adjust his tie. Shaking my head, I went over and stood in front of him, smacking his hands away and undoing whatever it was that he had tried to do.His hands dropped to my hips and he looked at me seriously for a long time. I couldn't even begin to guess what was going through his head and when I was finished, he still didn't let me go."You know why I'm doing this, right?" He asked nonchalantly and I gave him a small, sad smile. As bad as he was at times, I knew he had his reasons. It was clear that he only became angered when I didnt see things the same was he did. And it was evident that he only did the things he did to protect me."Yeah. It's only fair." I replied, my eyes dropping

Give

VictoriåHe didn't respond immediately and I went over to sit next to him, but instead he grabbed my hand and pulled me down so that now, I straddled his lap. I instinctively grabbed his shoulders to steady myself and he grabbed his phone from his pocket, dialing a number without even looking at the screen before holding the phone to his ear.He then spoke in Italian to the person on the other end of the call, not giving them a chance to reply when he ended the call and threw his phone on the seat next to us. He left one arm on the chair behind him and the other arm wrapped around my waist."What are you going to do about your friend?" He asked emotionlessly, referring to Milo and I shrugged."I'll figure it out." I replied quietly and he rolled his eyes, a sigh leaving his lips before he spoke again."This is the last time I'm helping you, Victoria." He told me and I shook my head."I don't want you to help me this time." I responded genuinely, knowing that I put myself here.He star

For You

Victoria "My husband was a really terrible man. He abused the both of us until I couldn't take it anymore. I got us out of there, even if it meant sleeping on the street." That brought me back to my 'mother', and how she always promised that we'd leave soon. But she never wanted to leave it seemed, treasuring the man she once loved so much."I was just here, wondering where our next meal would come from and," She paused, genuinely crying as she looked down at the bags. "Thank you, Sir. Thank you so much." She thanked him and he stared at her for a while before nodding. Then he walked back over to me and I looked at him proudly, giving him a thumbs up but instead, he lowered his head and turned it to the side slightly, making me laugh before I kissed his cheek."Have you learned nothing?" I asked him and he shrugged.I went over to the lady and grabbed the bills from inside of my pocket, handing it to her. It was just over two hundred dollars but I knew she'd need it much more than I

The Plan

VictoriåWe got to the Shelter and I got out as they started carrying the stuff inside. I took Landon's hand as he slipped his sunglasses off and dragged him inside with me. But I was positive that he walked slower just to make me think that I was actually dragging him.Inside, there were a lot of women. Some spoke to each other while others kept to themselves and their children. A lot of them had babies and I smiled as the owner approached us with a welcoming smile."Miss Rhee," He greeted kindly, coming in for a hug before he saw the look on Landon's face. "Slater, Sir." He cleared his throat awkwardly and I fought the urge to laugh.I elbowed Landon and his arm snaked around my waist, pulling me backward so that I stood directly in front of him."Thank you guys so much. The women here really needed this." He explained, motioning toward the smiling women who saw all of the stuff we had gotten them. "It's our pleasure." I replied with a smile, watching as a lady approached us with h

Took A Turn

Victoria He went over and opened it then went inside and I hesitantly followed behind, leaving the door open purposely so that if I needed to run, it'd be very easy to escape. He instantly sat on my bed and patted the spot next to him, to which I walked over and sat as far away from him on my bed as possible."You're acting like you're afraid of me." He pointed out, pulling his phone out of his pocket and dropping it onto the mattress."Why did you come over?" I asked, changing the subject instantly and he didn't seem to notice as a smirk began forming on his face."I just wanted to see you." His eyes trailed down my body slowly as he said this and now, I was more uncomfortable than when he first walked in here."Oh, well you've seen me." I said jokingly out loud, but I was very serious inside of my head. He chuckled, reaching his hand out and grabbing mine.He pulled me closer to him and wrapped his arm around my waist and I instantly shot up and took a step away."I have to use the

Not Bulletproof

Victoria "You don't have to do this, Milo." I said carefully, keeping my hands in front of me and he chuckled darkly."This isn't some type of movie, Rhee. You don't get to say those things and walk away freely in the end." He replied and I knew that he was right."We can go back inside and talk about this." I tried negotiating but he started coming toward me angrily and I instantly nodded vigorously."I'll get in. I'll get in." I told him quickly, moving toward the car and he made me get into the driver's side as he slipped into the passenger's seat and I wondered why the hell Landon hadn't shown up yet. "Now drive." He said after starting the car and I sighed, pulling away from the curb. "You messed everything up!"He slammed his fists onto the dashboard angrily before aiming the gun back at me again. I drove down the street and he stared at me with the most evil look I had ever seen on a person. It scared me that I hadn't seen this before, thinking everyone around me had a good h

Unanswered Questions

Victoria Was I going to die or something? That was the only time that was said to have happened. Well I mean...I really shouldn't be asking that question considering death was sipping his coffee - patiently waiting for me.After a while we pulled away and he nodded once before turning and going over to his car. He waited for me to shut the door first, then he got into his car and backed out of the driveway, speeding down the street like he always did.I locked the doors and windows then checked the house for some reason before taking a bath and throwing myself onto my bed. Today was a really long day for sure. But it wasn't necessarily a bad day. I mean, aside from Milo trying to kill me, I actually had a really good day today.I grabbed my phone and upon turning it on, I saw that I was getting a lot of messages from people, talking about the article from earlier. Some people were asking if it were true, others said that they didn't believe it while the majority criticized me for 'st

Bloody Cloth

VictoriåThe day passed by pretty quickly and soon, an entire week of the same routine and the same events followed. It was now Friday night and I hadn't seen or heard from neither Mia nor Landon. I was beginning to become worried as neither of them were picking up my calls.Right now I laid in my room, clutching my side tightly as I was in extreme pain. A cloth soaked with the blood I had coughed up laid next to my head and I sighed, wiping away my tears before getting up.In order to calm nyself, my mind recited the lyrics of some of my favorite songs, trying desperately to take my mind off of the horrible pain that was taking ahold of my body currently. My body grew weaker and weaker with every passing minute and I took a second in order to steady myself. I made my way into the bathroom and looked at myself in the mirror, aware that my health was deteriorating rapidly.I reached for my brush, running it through my hair and watching as handfuls fell out with each stroke. A tear slo

Regular Day

Victoria "Just a regular day in my life." I said, grabbing the ointment from inside of the kit and beginning to apply it to his arm."You're going back to the hospital." He told me firmly, no tone behind his voice and I pursed my lips."To do what, Landon? Die there, surrounded by strangers?" I asked and he stared back at me emotionlessly like he always did, trying to figure me out. "That's not what I want." I finished quietly, moving onto another burn at the bottom of his stomach."Tomorrow." He mentioned after some time had passed, changing the subject and I smiled at how good he was getting at this. My smile only widened as I knew what he was implying."You remembered?" I asked, using the mirror behind him to apply the cream onto the burns on his back and he just nodded once. "I don't know what to do." I told him, finishing up and beginning to pack everything away."Come on." He said, walking to the doorway once I was finished and I followed him, confused. He walked all the way do
