PART SIXTY-FOUR (1)

[Narrator's POV] The scent of the starting fire begins to scatter around the land. Giovanni can't help but think about how he will finally figure out all the plans that Algea has in her mind, but it seems like the female creature finds it hard to trust anyone, even the dark lord. He then feels that there's something unusual happening at the castle. He begins thinking about the possible things he could do to secure the castle even more for the possible attack of their enemies. Giovanni walks outside the palace and starts looking around the place, trying to figure out what he could do about it. His gaze goes to the front gate, and then he nods the moment he realizes something. "Head!" One of the centaurs who was rushing towards him shouts. "I think there are some outsiders trying to barge into the palace." He reports. Giovanni nods his head and says, "Tell the centaurs who are guarding the front gate to hide and leave the gate open." The centaur couldn't help but doubt Giovanni's co

PART SIXTY-FOUR (2)

[Blaze's POV] I am eagerly waiting for her response, trying to figure out if she would actually say what I had in my mind. She proudly told me that she was just trying to piss me off and that she had no plans on letting him go. Like, who does she think she was talking to? I literally heard her accept Raiden's confession, and she even confessed back to him. I'm not sure if Fraise didn't know that I was there or she was just pretending that she didn't see me there. But even if that was the case, she shouldn't be like this in front of me. She would be lying if she denied the fact that she wasn't aware of my feelings towards Raiden. I took a deep sigh and threw my gaze somewhere, "What now, Fraise? Are we just going to keep on standing here?" I asked her. But it seems like she doesn't have any plans on answering me or whatever. "Well, I'm not an idiot, Fraise. I knew you wouldn't—" "Yes." She uttered as she nodded her head. My eyes widened at the time that my brain was still processing

PART SIXTY-FIVE (1)

[Narrator's POV] The palace was built above the slightly elevated and circular land, originally surrounded by living plants that witches could use to create potions with both harmful and helpful effects. The former king, Alasdair, had requested his father to hide all of it in a secure place where it wouldn't be easily noticed by enemies. Alasdair didn't want these plants to be used as instruments to spread darkness across the land. Without a second thought about his son's request, Zeus combined all the plants with the help of his wife and his powerful lightning, creating the most potent plant that could only be used by a witch with a pure heart. This incredible creation was meant to protect the chosen ones from the dark curse cast by the powerful evil witch, referring to the right hand of the dark lord, Algea. The dark lord was unaware of this plant; it took a witch's blood to discover it. Otherwise, someone might find out if a certain witch shared this knowledge, as Luna did with h

PART SIXTY-FIVE (2)

[Narrator’s POV] Meanwhile, Luna, who was still working on the potion, wanted to take a short break, but then she wasn't comfortable leaving her work. Luckily, Lane arrived at the place. "Oh, thank you for coming, Lane," Luna breathed. Lane flashed an awkward smile on her face because she didn't have any clue why Luna felt relieved just by seeing her come. "Can you please stay here for a moment?" She asked her. Lane looked at her and noticed how heavy her eyes were. "Sure, Luna. You can take a rest now with your griffin, I mean, Crystal," she responded to her with a lively smile on her face. "Thank you. I promise it won't be long," Luna told her. Lane shook her head once and said, "There's no need to rush. Remember that getting enough rest is important." Luna nodded her head and flashed a weak smile on her face before she walked out of the door. Lane was left alone in the spare room, guarding the potion. She couldn't help but feel amazed by it. "Woah. This is really awesome,"

PART SIXTY-SIX 1

[Narrator's POV] As expected, the centaurs arrived at the place where the explosion happened, but then they started to exchange gazes when they failed to see anyone around. This also served as a signal for the female defenders to launch their attacks on the clueless creatures. Fraise jumped down from the tree, aiming her axe at one of them. She managed to hit her first target and left it badly injured, lying on the ground. The other centaurs were alarmed and began to step backward, aiming their spears at the female defender and her guardian. Blaze took it as an opportunity to attack them with her slingshot. She kept aiming at them one after another, trying not to lose focus. The centaurs tried to dodge every projectile from Blaze, and some of them ran towards the tree where Blaze was perched, constantly bumping into it, waiting for the female defender to fall. Both Fraise and Blaze couldn't deny the fact that the centaurs' speed and strength were incredible. Their plan to eliminate

PART SIXTY-SIX (2)

[Nowo's POV] While conversing with Helios, we suddenly heard someone clearing his throat, grabbing our attention. Usually, I wouldn't be concerned about being caught with Helios, but in this particular situation, I wasn't so sure. Moha found us just as Helios was holding my hand, checking if the scar he caused during our training had healed completely. I could sense Moha's disapproval in his stares. Quickly pulling my hand away from Helios, I greeted my best friend, "Hey," with a smile. I felt the awkward tension between the two of them, making me extremely uncomfortable. Helios seemed to understand my discomfort, offering a smile and saying, "I'm going now. Thank you for your time, Nowo," before leaving us. This was exactly what I hoped wouldn't happen. They seemed like dynamite and fire, a combination that needed separation, or else a massive explosion would follow. Approaching Moha, I pleaded, "Please, don't be mad about it." "Who says I am mad?" he asked. "Well, obviously, y

PART SIXTY-SEVEN (1)

[Narrator's POV] Inside the protective magic of their guardians, Fraise stared at the familiar creatures and remembered the time they faced similar foes at the hunters' mountain. "Raiden and I have fought these creatures before, together with Moha and Nowo," she informed Blaze. The numerous Aqrabuamelus, known for their poison, presented a challenging obstacle. Fraise knew that defeating them required a strong range of light, something her guardian couldn't provide. "Well, I guess they do have some kind of weakness?" Blaze wondered. Fraise nodded and said, "Yes. We need a strong range of light to defeat them. But I'm afraid my guardian couldn't provide that kind of magic." "I can," Blaze's guardian interrupted. "What? Really?" Blaze was shocked to learn about her guardian's capabilities. She had no idea about the extent of Selene's powers. "But how?" she asked. "I honestly haven't tried it before, and I think I would need a lot of time to concentrate on calling this newly disco

PART SIXTY-SEVEN (2)

[Narrator’s POV] Meanwhile, the fight in the dark realm intensified. Fraise suffered severe injuries, and Blaze, despite her own pain, tried her best to assist. Blaze's wound limited her attacks, frustrating her. "Damn it!" Blaze cursed. Her desire to help Fraise conflicted with her physical limitations. Fraise approached them, suggesting, "I think it would be better if you guys continuously head to the castle." Blaze almost shouted in disbelief, "Are you insane? Are you expecting me to leave you here?" Fraise shook her head, weakly stating, "I'm telling you what is the best thing to do that will benefit our mission." "Do you really think that I am selfish enough to do that?" Blaze fretted. "We have no time to argue about it, Blaze. Don't be so stubborn," Fraise responded. "Let's just hope that Selene would activate her magic before I run out of strength to fight." She shifted her gaze to the approaching Aqrabuamelus. "Fin, now!" Fraise shouted, and Fin pulled Blaze away from t

PART SIXTY-EIGHT (1)

[Narrator's POV] Blaze finally reached the dark realm. She started sneaking around the place trying to look for the plant they needed to get. It feels odd for her how she couldn't feel any kind of danger around her. She walked through the gloomy balcony and then she thought that finding this plant was kind of difficult due the numerous doors on her both sides. In addition to that, she thinks that checking each door would be risky. "I need to think about an effective strategy to locate it." She uttered to herself. Meanwhile, Raiden and Jack almost reached the dark realm and then a strong range of light suddenly caught their attention. They both quickly headed to it because they have a strong feeling that the female defenders are there. They manage to keep their silent movement and while on their way to the place where an explosion of light happened, they saw a bunch of wet looking dead centaurs. "Woah. Did they cause this mountain of dead centaurs?" Jack wondered. Raiden shrugge

PART SIXTY-EIGHT (2)

[Nowo's POV] I knew myself that I had a point. I mean, if taking the plant from a dangerous place was just a task wherein he wanted them to learn, then he should've made it a lot easier not letting them face such a terrifying situation. But then, at some point, I could somehow understand what he was trying to do. That in order to fix something, then you must be ready to take a risk and try. I think that is what I'm lacking. That I am too afraid of trying, that's why I couldn't reach my goal, which is to fix the relationship between all of us. This is his way of creating a peaceful environment and a strong foundation of people. An idea that never crossed my mind. Alasdair is indeed a great king. He would always be a person that I will look up to. It also made me think that maybe Moha is more capable of leading us, just like his father. I know I shouldn't be envious towards him, but how can I stop myself from getting that kind of feeling? Everyone are eagerly waiting for Blaze, Fra
