Chapter 81 - Getting Answers

Carrie POV It was hard to watch Jessica drive away. Mandy and I stood there for a couple of minutes after the car had disappeared hoping for what I do not know. Jackson and Josh moved forward, “They are gone, ladies,” Jackson says as I release Mandy and turn towards him. He holds his hand out to me, as I take it and he leads me back inside with Josh and Mandy behind us. “I think we need to have some breakfast,” Jackson starts to say when I go to cut him off. “I cannot eat anything,” I say as Mandy echoes my sentiment. Stopping in front of all of us, “I get that everyone is upset. You have to eat. You have tasks you have to do today, and the sooner we get to those the better you will feel,” he says. I look at him in disgust. I can see on his face he realizes he may have made a mistake. “We just lost our best friend; give us a few minutes to process before you start dictating,” I scowl as he frowns. “You did not lose her. She is going to be

Chapter 82 - Deception

Mandy POV I have this horrid feeling in the pit of my stomach. I recognize this man. “What the hell are you doing here?” I demand. The man looks at me. I see a flash of recognition before he smirks, “You are mistaken you crazy girl,” he says to me. “That’s Gamma to you,” I retort to his shock. I pause for a moment and then the memory flashes in my mind. The beatings I had endured at my Pack before I was left for death in the rogue territory. “Why were you there?” I demand of him. He looks at me, “I have no idea what you are talking about.”. “You know me. You were there when they beat me,” I reply. I could feel Josh tense beside me as Carrie steps forward confused. “Mandy, are you certain?” Carrie asks me. I look at her with a pained expression, “I am one hundred percent positive,” I reply as Josh moves towards me. I step away not wanting anyone to deter me from my goal. To find out why he had been there. To find out why he was here now

Chapter 83 - Where Did She Go?

Carrie POV Standing there I hesitate for a moment, as the rogue in front of me smirks. Looking at him, he has nothing more to offer. I step forward seeing the horror on his face realizing I am not the woman he sold. “Wait, Carrie … you cannot do this to me …” he says as I move closer, “Watch me,” I whisper in his ear as my hands wrap around his neck. There is fighting around me. Somehow whoever was rescuing him, had managed to breech our borders. I hear someone yell in the background, but I tighten my hands around his neck adding just enough pressure to hear the satisfying snap of his neck. His eyes are open in shock as I release him, and I look to the voice who yelled for me to stop. I look into eyes very similar to my own. Everything around me goes silent as I simply stare at this man. I have no idea who he is but feel like I should recognize him. “Stop!” he commands and everyone around us ceases to fight us. Jackson, Josh, and Mandy mov

Chapter 84 - Calling Home

Carrie POV Sensing I was in a moving vehicle, I am quickly reminder that I had been passed out for some time. I slowly open my eyes, taking in my surroundings. I can hear voices. Men speaking. I do not recognize them, but I know instinctively I am not safe. Jackson, Josh, Mandy … what happened to them? Where are they taking me? “I know you are awake,” I hear a somewhat familiar voice. I quickly shift my body up and into a protective position startling the man beside me. “Given your power, I should have known your wolf would push the drugs through your system quickly,” he murmurs in awe of me and my wolf. “What have you done?” I ask confused and still feeling the effects of the drugs. “I have done what I had to do to protect you,” he says to me calmly staring at me. “Taking me from my Pack and my mate? That was protecting me?!?” I yell at him. “You sure you made the right choice, boss?” one of the guys in the front chuckles. “

Chapter 85 - Come Back!

Jackson POV “Carrie! Carrie!” I yell into the phone but only hear silence. What the hell did that mean? It meant for the moment she was safe and alive. I had to hold onto that … it was all I had. “Where is she?” Christian asks. Since finding us, he had gotten us to the hospital where we learned we had been drugged with some type of short working sleeping aid. It had left us with a hell of a headache, but we were all alive. And now I knew the Carrie was still alive. “She did not say. She said she would call in an hour,” I share with them. Josh and Mandy were also present. Everyone was feeling shitty. Shitty that someone had managed to breach our borders without our knowledge. And worse managed to kidnap our Luna. “What the hell is going on with our border protection?” I demand looking to both Christian and Josh. Josh was new to his role, but he had been guarding our perimeter for years. What the hell went wrong? “I do not know, Alpha,

Chapter 86 - Finding Her

Carrie POV “What do you know about Jessica?” I demand of Randy. “Who?” he asks. “Jessica, her mate is Carleton from the Wolf Council,” I reply assuming he knows of her. “Oh, is that the one you saved?” he asks sounding impressed. “Yes, now what do you know about her? Are you taking me to her?” I ask. “Whoa, I do not know anything about Jessica. I did not take her. You were my priority,” Randy replies looking at me for an explanation. “Jackson asked if she was with us. If she is not with us, then who has her?” I consider. “Fuck; I know who has her,” Randy says. I look him expectantly, “Your father,” he adds. “Why would he want her?” I ask confused. “If you healed her from death, there is a good chance that she will inherit at least one of your powers,” he reveals. “She does not have her wolf,” I share with him. “Well, that will complicate things for him,” Randy says as we continue driving towards our destination. “Send a c

Chapter 87 - Reunited

Carrie POV Jackson would be here any minute. We had heard from the driver that they were close. I tried to reach out to Jackson through our mind-link, but I could not reach him yet. Just a few more minutes and I would be in his arms. I knew we had a lot of explaining to do, but I knew he was reasonable, and we would be able to work things out now that he would be here with me. I hear the car approaching and open the door running down the steps waiting for the driver to stop the SUV. Jackson quickly exits the vehicle and races around the car scooping me up in his arms. He lifts me up and I wrap my legs around his waist and kiss him like I had not seen him for months. It terrified me that I could have so much dependency on another person, but Jackson truly was my life. Looking behind me, Jackson releases me, and I slide down his body. Before I can stop him, he runs at Randy punching him in the face. Randy’s security comes forward, but Randy ho

Chpater 88 - Puzzle Pieces

Carrie POV We had spent hours going over strategies to use for the anticipated battle. As we went over possible scenarios, Jackson and Josh warmed up to Randy. I still had not resolved myself to the fact that I had a brother. It was difficult to believe this person shows up out of nowhere with no evidence that we are related. Aside from my mother. Possibly. He will not tell me much about her story, he feels that is for her to tell me. However, he has told me about her. He said I look like a younger version of her. She has a wonderful disposition. Very loving and has longed for me every day I have been away from her. It brought me to tears to think my mother had missed me. Had wanted me. I grew up not really knowing anything about her as my father never spoke of her. I understand why; she left him. I thought he never spoke of her because he had been devastated by her loss; however, she had left him, and he simply never spoke of her again.

Chapter 89 - Daddy's Calling

Carrie POV We woke up early the next morning. We had enjoyed a delicious meal prepared by Randy’s staff. We had proposed going out, but Randy was adamant we stay low key until my father came to us. So, we had to play the waiting game which none of us were good at doing. This morning, we were going over strategies and then Randy was going to help me try to figure out what my other talent may be. I argued maybe I only had one, but Randy was adamant that was not possible. As he seemed to be the most informed about hybrid wolves, I took his word for it. “What do we do if he has erased Jessica’s memory?” I ask determined to save Jessica whatever way possible. If she had to learn all over who she was, I was determined to ensure she did so. She was meant to be with Carleton, and I would ensure she spent the rest of her life with him. Jackson had told me what had happened to Carleton when he was updated by the doctor. I was devastated but refused to

Chapter 90 - New Talent

Carrie POV “What do you want?” I demand coldly wanting to keep my father on the line. Randy was already working with his IT people to see if they could track the call. “I want you. Plain and simple,” he replies with a chuckle. “You cannot have me,” I reply. “If you want your friend Jessica to live, you will do as I say,” he replies quickly. “How do I even know she is alive?” I ask trying to get a sense of whether she was still with us. “You will have to trust me,” he says. I laugh, “As if I would. The man who is trying to make me go with him and for what?” I ask. “For world supremacy, my darling daughter,” he responds coolly. “What the hell are you talking about?” I ask perplexed by his wording. “Working together we could take over the Werewolf Kingdom,” he replies. “I have no interest in taking over the Werewolf Kingdom,” I say. “You have talents I need in order to secure my place at the top. I will have you daughter; if you do not care
