Jackson POV

“Carrie! Carrie!” I yell into the phone but only hear silence. What the hell did that mean? It meant for the moment she was safe and alive. I had to hold onto that … it was all I had. “Where is she?” Christian asks. Since finding us, he had gotten us to the hospital where we learned we had been drugged with some type of short working sleeping aid. It had left us with a hell of a headache, but we were all alive. And now I knew the Carrie was still alive.

“She did not say. She said she would call in an hour,” I share with them. Josh and Mandy were also present. Everyone was feeling shitty. Shitty that someone had managed to breach our borders without our knowledge. And worse managed to kidnap our Luna. “What the hell is going on with our border protection?” I demand looking to both Christian and Josh.

Josh was new to his role, but he had been guarding our perimeter for years. What the hell went wrong? “I do not know, Alpha,

I hate to say this Jackson but you aren’t exactly the brightest bulb in the box. I like him no offense but he needs to get in his head that sometimes other people’s ideas may work better than his (especially if they can see the future! I know he doesn’t know that yet but when he does.. just saying!)

Carrie POV “What do you know about Jessica?” I demand of Randy. “Who?” he asks. “Jessica, her mate is Carleton from the Wolf Council,” I reply assuming he knows of her. “Oh, is that the one you saved?” he asks sounding impressed. “Yes, now what do you know about her? Are you taking me to her?” I ask. “Whoa, I do not know anything about Jessica. I did not take her. You were my priority,” Randy replies looking at me for an explanation. “Jackson asked if she was with us. If she is not with us, then who has her?” I consider. “Fuck; I know who has her,” Randy says. I look him expectantly, “Your father,” he adds. “Why would he want her?” I ask confused. “If you healed her from death, there is a good chance that she will inherit at least one of your powers,” he reveals. “She does not have her wolf,” I share with him. “Well, that will complicate things for him,” Randy says as we continue driving towards our destination. “Send a c

  • The Luna's Fated Mate   Chapter 87 - Reunited

Carrie POV Jackson would be here any minute. We had heard from the driver that they were close. I tried to reach out to Jackson through our mind-link, but I could not reach him yet. Just a few more minutes and I would be in his arms. I knew we had a lot of explaining to do, but I knew he was reasonable, and we would be able to work things out now that he would be here with me. I hear the car approaching and open the door running down the steps waiting for the driver to stop the SUV. Jackson quickly exits the vehicle and races around the car scooping me up in his arms. He lifts me up and I wrap my legs around his waist and kiss him like I had not seen him for months. It terrified me that I could have so much dependency on another person, but Jackson truly was my life. Looking behind me, Jackson releases me, and I slide down his body. Before I can stop him, he runs at Randy punching him in the face. Randy’s security comes forward, but Randy ho

Carrie POV We had spent hours going over strategies to use for the anticipated battle. As we went over possible scenarios, Jackson and Josh warmed up to Randy. I still had not resolved myself to the fact that I had a brother. It was difficult to believe this person shows up out of nowhere with no evidence that we are related. Aside from my mother. Possibly. He will not tell me much about her story, he feels that is for her to tell me. However, he has told me about her. He said I look like a younger version of her. She has a wonderful disposition. Very loving and has longed for me every day I have been away from her. It brought me to tears to think my mother had missed me. Had wanted me. I grew up not really knowing anything about her as my father never spoke of her. I understand why; she left him. I thought he never spoke of her because he had been devastated by her loss; however, she had left him, and he simply never spoke of her again.

  • The Luna's Fated Mate   Chapter 89 - Daddy's Calling

Carrie POV We woke up early the next morning. We had enjoyed a delicious meal prepared by Randy’s staff. We had proposed going out, but Randy was adamant we stay low key until my father came to us. So, we had to play the waiting game which none of us were good at doing. This morning, we were going over strategies and then Randy was going to help me try to figure out what my other talent may be. I argued maybe I only had one, but Randy was adamant that was not possible. As he seemed to be the most informed about hybrid wolves, I took his word for it. “What do we do if he has erased Jessica’s memory?” I ask determined to save Jessica whatever way possible. If she had to learn all over who she was, I was determined to ensure she did so. She was meant to be with Carleton, and I would ensure she spent the rest of her life with him. Jackson had told me what had happened to Carleton when he was updated by the doctor. I was devastated but refused to

Carrie POV “What do you want?” I demand coldly wanting to keep my father on the line. Randy was already working with his IT people to see if they could track the call. “I want you. Plain and simple,” he replies with a chuckle. “You cannot have me,” I reply. “If you want your friend Jessica to live, you will do as I say,” he replies quickly. “How do I even know she is alive?” I ask trying to get a sense of whether she was still with us. “You will have to trust me,” he says. I laugh, “As if I would. The man who is trying to make me go with him and for what?” I ask. “For world supremacy, my darling daughter,” he responds coolly. “What the hell are you talking about?” I ask perplexed by his wording. “Working together we could take over the Werewolf Kingdom,” he replies. “I have no interest in taking over the Werewolf Kingdom,” I say. “You have talents I need in order to secure my place at the top. I will have you daughter; if you do not care

Jackson POV I stared at Randy in stunned shock. How the hell was that possible? What had happened to Christian? I grab my phone and put a call into Christian immediately. It goes to voice mail. “We need to go back to the Pack,” I say turning to walk towards the parking garage. “Wait!” Randy says as Josh, Mandy and Carrie follow me. “What?” I say not stopping. “This is a set-up. He is trying to pull you out of hiding,” Randy growls at us. “Well, he is winning, then, isn’t he?” I reply as I walk towards an SUV. I open the door and bingo, there are keys in the ignition. Nodding to Josh, he and Mandy move to get into the back of the SUV while Carrie races around to the passenger side. “Do you want to get her killed? Is your goal to lose your mate?” he demands coldly. I stop and look at him. “How do you think she will respond if our Pack is destroyed while we are hiding out here?” I demand of him. “He will not do anything to the Pack. He w

Carrie POV I am startled as Randy pushes me aside. I hear him yell “Run!” and I still do not understand. This is Christian. Our Beta who has protected me since I have known him. “What?” I ask confused. Jackson moves forward pulling me to him, as Christian grabs Randy’s shoulder and throws him aside. I am in awe of Christian’s strength, but I notice something peculiar in the way he stares at me. “Carrie, I have missed you,” he says. “You saw me a couple of days ago,” I remind him as Jackson pushes me behind him, knowing he cannot get me to leave Christian. He moves forward to touch me, but Jackson stops him. I see a dark look cross over Christian’s eyes before they return to his dark blue. He turns to me, “How are you feeling?” he asks. I look at him and try to understand what is going on. “I am fine. Why are you here?” I ask. “I was worried about all of you. After Jackson’s call this morning,” he replies. “I tried calling

Carrie POV Before we can move, we hear a fierce growl behind us. Turning I look unable to believe my eyes. “Jessica?!?” I scream aiming to run towards her when she poises herself to attack. Stepping back, “Jessica?” I ask softly. “She doesn’t recognize me,” I say quietly. She scratches the ground before making her move racing across the ground leaping in the air aiming for my throat. Tossing my arms up I throw up another barrier, catching Jessica before she causes any harm. Mandy runs towards the barrier, “What is wrong with her?” she cries as Josh tries to move her away from the barrier. Mandy brushes him aside wanting to help her friend. There is only hatred in the eyes of Jessica. “Jessica, it is me, Mandy,” Mandy cries out. My heart breaks as I watch my best friend unable to recognize either of us. I look to the hated man laughing inside his barrier watching everything unfold. I step closer to the barrier, “Be careful Carrie,” Jackson

  • The Luna's Fated Mate   Chpater 123 - Two Years Later

Carrie’s POV Jessica, Mandy, and I sat watching our pups. Jessica and Mandy each had a boy. We had thought one might be a female but had a pleasant surprise when two males were born to my two best friends. Colton, Rosie’s pup and my half-brother, were playing with the boys. It was easy to see they were best friends being born so close to one another. Unless Colton was upset about something. Then his temper showed through. We were concerned and already working with him to control his anger. Even at his young age, we knew we needed to build the capacity within Colton to control himself, at all times. It was challenging for Jackson and me. Having a gifted child when I was still learning my own talents was keeping us on our toes. He was going to be more talented than me. It is incredible but we now believe that my father had enhanced his powers in some way that resulted in Colton’s talents being enhanced. The challenge of trying to anticipate

Carrie POV Before I can move, Christian steps forward. I see tears in the doctor’s eyes as she looks at her mate, knowing her fate. “Please, I am sorry,” she whispers as Christians looks at her with hate in his eyes. He is owed this. She almost destroyed him and the fact that she is his mate is only a cruel twist of fate. He leans forward placing his lips on hers. One solitary kiss from his mate before he reaches his hands up to her neck and snaps it as her lips rest on his. He steps back, cradling her body in his arms. I feel tears of my own rise up as I watch helplessly at our friend being forced to deal with the crappy hand he had been dealt. Without saying anything else, Christian turns and walks out of the gala event with his dead mate in his arms. Nobody spoke. They simply watched the tragic event in slow motion. As Christian exits the building, I can hear people starting to speak softly. Talking about calling it a night. Sadly, I a

  • The Luna's Fated Mate   Chapter 121 - Painful Answers

Carrie POV Christian cut off the words the doctor was about to say. “Christian!” I yell wanting to hear what she had to say. Christian was determined to snap her neck. Jackson was beside him trying to unwrap his hands around her neck. My mother kept yelling for Christian to do it. “Christian stop!” I command with all my power. Many surrounding us started to drop to their knees at the wave of power that left my body. Christian dropped his hands turning his angry glare on me. The female doctor leans forward gasping for air. “Why?” Christian demands. “We need to know who Rosie’s baby’s father is, Christian,” I say to him trying to reason with him. “It is my right to destroy her,” he says with anger. “I understand but this is important,” I say to him looking to Jackson. I know he is wondering as well and wants the answers from her. I feel a sense of trepidation as I move towards the woman. My mother is struggling to get out of Josh’s hands,

  • The Luna's Fated Mate   Chapter 120 - Who's Pup?

Carrie POV I block the bolts of power coming at me with my arms. It is as if my arms have become shields of steel and I simply have the intuitive awareness of how to deflect her attack. She moves closer as I step back. Taking a chance, I flip my right arm and make like I am tossing something at her. It shocks her and she stumbles backwards with a smirk, “Just testing out your powers, I see,” she says as she steps closer to me pushing a stronger wave of force at me. Before I can respond I am pushed backwards. My shoes fall off and I land on my ass. I hear Jackson yell my name, but I cannot look to him. I have to focus on the threat. She continues to stalk towards me as I crawl backwards trying to get my bearings. I am working my way towards standing when she slams into me again this time knocking me back and winding me. “If you were smart, you would stay down. As much as I want you dead, your father would never forgive me for destroying you

  • The Luna's Fated Mate   Chapter 119 - Party Crashers

Jackson POV It has been a week since Carrie received the email from her mother. After a few months reprieve I had started to wonder if they would just give up. I had hoped they would give up. They were after something. I simply did not know what it was. Carrie was too independent. She could live on her own without them. She had always wanted her mother but not like this. Not this woman who had seemingly abandoned her at a young age for the greater good, as she liked to imply. We were all getting ready for the Gala event we were hosting. We had spent every waking moment well into the wee hours of the night, planning for every type of attack we could imagine. Christian had gone darker if that were possible. Now that the end was imminent, I knew he would take out the female doctor, or die trying. And that scared me. He had no fear of death. It was as if he had looked it in the face once and he was prepared to die if it meant taking out his

  • The Luna's Fated Mate   Chapter 118 - Threats

Carrie POV It has been three months since we last saw my mother, brother, or his mate the female doctor. Everyone has been on intense alert since that fight. Our warriors were exhausted from all the additional training and extra shifts they have been taking to protect the Pack. Jessica has settled into her job working with Carleton for the Wolf Council. They continue to try and find leads as to where my family is but have had no luck. They are all wanted and considered dangerous. There are huge bounties on all of them. I do not want them captured. I want them dead. They are wreaking havoc with my family and my doctor is concerned the stress is impacting my ability to get pregnant. I am exhausted myself worrying about how much I have brought to Jackson’s doorstep. He continues to tell me to stop worrying. He will stand by my side regardless. But the Pack did not sign on for this either. They continue to be supportive, but I know they are

  • The Luna's Fated Mate   Chapter 117 - Long Gone

Carrie POV Jackson returned to us and shared what they learned so far. Which was not much. My mother had attempted to have Randy freed, but Jackson quickly replied, “It is out of my hands. The Wolf Council is taking him into custody, and he will be charged accordingly.”. “That is outrageous. We have neutralized the threat!” my mother exclaims. “Take it up with Carleton. He is making transfer arrangements as we speak,” Jackson says without sympathy. “Carrie you must do something to help your brother,” my mother pleads with me. Shaking my head, “I am sorry, but I cannot. He betrayed me and my Pack; had he succeeded it would have been the end of us,” I reply to her. Jackson looks at me with love and pride at my response. The rage that crosses my mother’s face surprises me, but she quickly contains it. That causes me to pause for a moment as I watch her. “You have his wolf, his powers … what more do you want?” she asks coldly. “It is not abo

  • The Luna's Fated Mate   Chapter 116 - Uncertain

Carrie POV “Do you sincerely believe he deserves to have his wolf, after all that he has done?” my mother asks. I sit with that question. Did I think he deserved his wolf? I had not been prepared to help save him, yet I worried about him being without a wolf. A wolf was so much a part of who we were. And having been without my wolf for so long, I could easily identify with the devastation. “I do not know the answer to that question,” I respond honestly. “Well, you have time to decide,” my mother replies. “What do you mean?” I ask. “You have taken his wolf into your care; you can give it back or let the wolf go to its resting place. The choice will solely be yours,” my mother says softly. I sit back in my chair and chew my food slowly. Mandy is sitting silent listening to the conversation. “What do you think?” I ask her as she looks at me in surprise. “I think it is as your mother has said. It is your choice; your decision,” she replies.
