Chapter 39

EDEN POV I came to with a pounding headache and an aching body, ripping a small whimper from my lips as I tried to move my legs. Amidst great pain, I felt whole, and I instantly knew that the other part of me had rejoined my being to make me whole. "It's okay, baby." the familiar voice drawled before a pair of strong arms slid under my torso and lifted me into thin air. I subconsciously leaned against his shoulder and let him carry me across the room. I peeled my eyes in time to see him slither effortlessly into the bathroom, and I took in the sight of the big circular jacuzzi with hot water bubbling in it. My body started tingling with anticipation. Riftan climbed into the tub without putting me down, then lowered himself into the water, causing our whole bodies to be engulfed by the rippling waves of the very much-needed hot-water therapy. A moan slipped through my lips. “Is it good?” His voice made my back vibrate as he drawled, and I let out a small ‘hmm’, before slip

Chapter 40

EDEN POV When he said a vacation to rewind, I didn’t presume that it included a boat ride off the UK and onto foreign lands, and another excruciatingly long but awesome ride with my head out of the sunroof singing to the songs played in the car. But man was it exuberant. I felt lighter on myself than I had been, the air felt fresher to breathe, and Riftan looked so carefree like the weight of the entire world had been lifted off his shoulders. “You still haven’t mentioned where we are going.” I accused settling down into my seat with a pout before folding my arms across my chest. “What’s the fun in telling you?” He cast a naughty look my way before facing the road. He had one hand on the steering wheel, the other was settled on the lever with ease, and he looked like he was doing what he loved the most. A shudder rippled through me when last night flashed across my mind, and I cleared my throat before staring ahead. Instead of bringing it up, I searched my mind for any

Chapter 41

RIFTAN POV If it’s not the bloody one thing, it's fucking another! If not dick-assed alphas spreading shit around my pack, then it is the bloody prophecy and a whole of meshuga it comes pulling. There were times I felt like I could just run and hide, times I wished that maybe we were just born human so we could live the rest of our lives in peace fighting over the last slices of pastry, then die of old age. And now was of those fucking times. We left home to catch a break, a small moment where we just lived as us, two souls in love with each other; only for my mate to be attacked by prickly Vampires. I knew what happened wasn’t going to go unnoticed, especially when the vampires I just torched were not just any random vampires and fuck, we already had so much on our plate as is. Deciding to not sour my mood more than it already was, I focused on my task at hand. Lucifel was jumping up and down in my head from the frustration of seeing his other half with a torn back,

Chapter 42

EDEN POV I didn’t even want to think of the Pandora’s box we’ve opened. The worms had a stench and soon, we were going to have to deal with it. This is why I decided to push everything that had to do with the vampires and burning the gas station to the back of my mind and focus on the vacation my mate planned so carefully! It was a pity we couldn’t enjoy it to the fullest maximum, considering there was a whole apocalypse waiting to happen. But I still felt pretty good and happy about everything. The following day, Riftan and I spent the whole day slithering between white silk bed sheets, feeling each other and drinking from one another's soul. it was a title honeymoon where we made love every time our eyes made contact. it was fatal. The war between the sheets of course! By the time the sun started to set, I was all achy, with a million hickeys and bite marks covering my body. I could feel the burn Riftan left, wincing every step that I took. When the night started to f

Chapter 44 Riftan POV This whole thing was starting to feel like a mistake. I thought to myself as I watched her walk away. A small stomp in her steps. A part of me was livid, wondering just what the hell she took me for. The other major part of me, however, understood her worries and why she'd think I chose this place to see Amber; I had a reputation myself, and it exceeded all other things I've done. With a frustrated groan, I took off behind her. I made sure to maintain a healthy distance, keeping my pace low with the purpose of finding her in our room. It'd help her cool off! I hated to think what would happen if she remained angry at me. Another frustrated groan and I halted, then faced up at the twinkling stars and cursed them. My wolf grunted in response before he erupted forward, causing a pant of headache to lasso through my skull. And that’s when I felt it. Panic. Simmering low. And it was not coming from me. ‘Mate. She is in danger.’ Lucifel grunted

Chapter 44EDEN POV We walked down a long hallway made of ancient stones and modern lanterns. The entire structure was a cross between creepy and intriguing, luring anyone with its gothic demure. There were no coffins inside, just a creepy eerie transversing through vacant corridors.Anyone with a functioning brain could tell it was a house for bloodsuckers.Inara- I don’t like this place. I halted in a step when Inara growled low in my head.“Is everything alright?” Blaire asked, tightening her hold on my arm. The gesture may have seemed innocent, concerned even; but I knew deep down that it was a silent reminder that she had my life in the palm of her hand. Friendly she may act, but there was a limit to all the smiles, and she would kill me on the spot. But come hell or high water, I would bring this damn creepy castle down with me. I turned to her and smiled,“We are all good. Let’s go.” I exclaimed taking a step forward. She quickened her steps and remained silent until we ar

Chapter 45RIFTAN POV A cold pang of fear sliced through my chest, causing goose flesh to clothe my skin. I jumped from the chair, almost knocking it backward with force, and stood on the precipice of shifting.I could feel my wolf fighting to break through the small, frail veil that separated him from me, my eyes flashing glitz of gold.Wherever she was; trepidation soared through her with every intake of breath, and it broke my heart with every single heartbeat! I could almost taste the metallic emotion on my tongue.A strong hand gripped my wrists, and I whisked my head to see Kyle through blurred vision.“Don’t do anything rash, alpha.” He reasoned with a stern voice, his hand holding mine prisoner in an iron grip. I panted, losing the fight to my wolf.“Mate…. She is in danger.” My voice came out a mixture of a growl and a tonality of desperation; Lucifel trying to break through the face. Kylek flinched for a moment at the suppressing power of my alpha dominance before nodding w

Chapter 46EDEN POV The following day, Blair found me parading the vast corridors of lines and shelves of books that seemed to contain a history that spanned for at least ten millennia. Some of the artifacts in the Giants Library were big scrolls, placed neatly on wooden stands like they held a secret ingredient to life. The momentary freedom I got made me forget I was brought here under coercion. You could have sworn I was just a normal visitor; or an old family friend!“Beautiful, isn’t it?” Blair’s voice called out from behind me. I hurriedly dropped my hand which was caressing a scroll that was written in a foreign language. The writings were so picturesque and cursive that they looked like some marking to summon gods. But in their case, it would be to summon the demons. “It is magical. I have never seen a library this big.” I intoned, spinning around and taking in the sight of shelves that climbed the three-floor walls. “The Gemini Castle has been here since the founding of o

Chapter 47 RIFTAN POV The morning sun came with choking nerves. I hated sitting in one place and not knowing what my Luna was and what she was doing. And the mere fact that I couldn’t connect through to her wolf made me sick to my stomach. Upon realizing my restlessness, Kylek suggested we drive to an open restaurant and sit over a cup of coffee while we wait for my retarded brother to make his grand entry. The rest of the wolf warriors were stationed at the nearest bars and pubs, waiting for the signal to just explode and raid the Gemini Coven at my command. I refused to send them back home without a solid plan or reassurance that my mate was indeed going to be rescued from that forsaken place. “You haven’t touched your coffee,” Kylek noted motioning to the cup of coffee that remained untouched in front of me. I glanced at it before sighing out loud, hating my screaming mind and the loud buzz of liveliness around me. Why did everyone have to be so normal and happy while

Chapter 48

Chapter 48 EDEN POV Raynor probably realized that where subliminal threats and attempts at unsettling me failed to work, pure, barbaric horror would. And kudos to his little strategy; it fuckin worked. I barely slept that night, squirming and turning in bed whenever a sheet grazed my foot. If I had thought maids who had their throats slit open and blood sucked dry from their bodies were terrifying enough, then what I saw during lunch in the noon was enough to kill me clean and square. That had to be cooked straight in the fiery kitchens of satan's abode! The image of the enslaved species milling on the table, naked and vulnerable in front of Raynor and his group of crazies lived rent-free in my head and refused to leave. I found myself wondering about all the impossible, which all ended with two things; Raynor's dead body on the floor and the victims freed! No one was supposed to live like a dog. Absolutely no one. Inara- I can go around and see what I can find. Snoop around
