Catarina’s POV Staring at Tara’s face made me sick to the pit of my stomach, she looked like she had had a fall or something, she was unconscious but the biggest question swirling around in my head was, why the heck was she here. What did she want and how did she find me here? “Why is she here?” I growled, gripping the sleeves of my jumper and feeling grateful that the twins were out with Mindy. “She needs to die! Let me kill her, finish her off!” Matilda howled in the back of my mind. “No, Matilda. I need answers!” I told her, shoving her back to the far end of my mind. “My queen, I had no idea who she was, she appeared at the borders and when I arrived, she collapsed.” Alex tried to reassure me but I was mad, so mad. I took a deep breath and tried to gather my thoughts. Tara's presence was a painful reminder of the past, a past that I had tried so hard to move on from. But now, she was here, and I couldn't ignore her any longer. I did not

Alex’s POV This woman was Tara, the one who Cat had walked in on with her mate. She was the one he had been sleeping with, the one who tore my precious queen in two, made her run from everything she knew and loved. How could anyone do such a disgusting thing? She was pregnant and unconscious. As much as I wanted to turf her out, it wasn’t on my nature to be so cruel where a innocent and unborn child was concerned. Cat walked away with her head held high and not a tear in sight. She was strong despite all the hurt and turmoil that she had been through. Lochlan was going to remain locked up but having this Tara turn up on the doorstep made things slightly more complicated. I was not about to allow my mate and the twins down when they were all excited for our short break. I would have to call an emergency meeting with Carl and my other trusted colleagues. They would ensure this woman was not unsupervised at any time. She would remain in the hospital away from other patien

Alex’s POV With the necessary plans in place and my team taking care of things, I set my worries aside, if only temporarily, and focused on the much-needed break away with Cat and the twins. Stepping into the car, I couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation and relief. The drive to our vacation destination was filled with excitement and joy. Cat and the twins chatted happily in the backseat, their laughter echoing through the car. I glanced at them in the rearview mirror, a smile playing on my lips. This is what mattered – our little family and the moments we shared together. Arriving at our destination, we were greeted by the sounds of crashing waves and the salty scent of the ocean. The sun was shining, casting a golden glow over the sandy beach. It was perfect. We settled into the beachfront house we had rented for the vacation. It was spacious, with large windows that afforded breathtaking views of the ocean. The kids immediately ran off to explore their new surr

Catarina’s POV “Is everything ok?” I looked at Alex worriedly as Nadia and Nathan continued to play happily, making sandcastles and shrieking with laughter as they did so. Alex ended his call and glanced over at me with a small sigh. “There has been some development with Tara’s progress,” he said. “She awake, isn't she?” I growler, getting up from the deck chair and scrambling my stuff together. Alex touched my shoulder and urged me to listen to him. All I could think about was returning home and having it out with her. Although the holiday was lovely, I could not fully enjoy it knowing that she was back in my life and she held the answers to questions that I needed answers to. I sighed and reluctantly sat back down, giving Alex my full attention. He explained that Tara had awakened from her coma, but her memory loss was extensive. She had no recollection of recent events, including the accident that had put her in the hospital. My heart sank as I realised that the co

Catarina’s POV I push open the door and the doctor comes to greet me. I know instantly that Alex had mind linked him to inform that I was on my way. “I need to see her.” I said forcing my way through. “Please, Queen Catarina. You can't come in here, King Alex has made that an order.” the doctor said and I growled causing him to step back. “I am the Queen and you do as I say.” I pushed him out of my way and sent papers that were in his hand flying all over the corridor. “Yes, Queen Catarina, of course. My apologies.” Ignoring the chaos I had caused, I stormed down the hallway. The scent of antiseptic and sterile cleanliness filled the air, blending with the anxiety that seemed to radiate from every corner of the hospital. As I approached her room, I could hear the sound of medical equipment beeping in the background. Taking a deep breath, I pushed open the door, prepared to face whatever lay inside. As I stood there, looking at her, a mix of emotions swirled wit

Catarina’s POV I can't believe he is here, in the castle. He made a great effort to get in here, dressed as if he were one of the workers. My heart pounds as I confront David, my ex-beta, who stands before me with chilling confidence. His words hang heavy in the air, suffocating me with their implications. I clutch my twins tighter to my side as if they could shield me from the danger that looms ominously in front of us. “Madam, I am so sorry. I had no idea who he was. He said he was here to deliver something.” Mindy tried to explain, but David told her to be quiet, or he would end her life. The dim light casts shadows across David's face, accentuating his sinister smirk. His eyes gleam with a mixture of malice and triumph, reflected in the polished surface of the gun he shamelessly displays. Its metallic sheen sends a shiver down my spine, the sight a stark reminder of the threat that hangs over us like a dark cloud. "How did you find me?" I growl through gritted teeth

Catarina’s POV “Go and get the little tramp yourself. She's in the hospital East Wing and as for Lochlan. Well believe me, I hope he rots in hell. And as for you. Coming here and threatening me and my children. You signed your own death note, my friend.” As I pushed my twins into Mindy's arms and ordered her to take them out of the room, fear mingled with rage flooded my every fiber. David had threatened my children, my family. I couldn't let him get away with it. Swiftly and deftly, I snatched the gun from his hands, catching him off guard and assertively pointing it back at him. The power I held in that moment sent a surge of adrenaline through me. "No more explanations, David," I spat out, my voice seething with anger. "You were willing to harm my innocent children. For what? For some pathetic excuse of an Alpha who betrayed his own Luna and his pack?" My words dripped with venom as I confronted him. “Please, listen. Hear me out.” he pleaded pathetically. He tried t

Alex's POV I received the news of the intruder's demise from one of my loyal warriors, his voice laced with urgency and a hint of relief. The weight of responsibility settled upon my shoulders as I absorbed the information. The castle may be surrounded and protected, but there was no certainty if there were any other intruders lurking in the shadows. Closing my eye, I issued a command to Carl, through our telepathic connection. The urgency in my thoughts weighed heavily upon him, urging him to send a contingent of men to track down and seize every member of the intruder's pitiful pack. My eyes narrowed with determination as I emphasized the immediacy of the task. Each one of them would be held accountable, their threat neutralized without delay. Carl swiftly responded through our mind-link, assuring me of his commitment to the task at hand. I watched as he swiftly set in motion the necessary measures to bring the pack under control, his unwavering loyalty evident in every move

Lochlan’s POV I was shocked to see this man standing in front of me when I woke up. “Who are you? Where is King Alex?” I stuttered. The chains around my hands and feet rattled as I moved to a sitting position. I was in need of a bath or shower at least. The man smirked, a gleam of amusement in his eyes. "Oh, I'm afraid King Alex won't be joining us anytime soon," he replied smoothly. His voice held a hint of arrogance that annoyed me. "As for who I am, well, let's just say I am someone who has come to make you a deal." I narrowed my eyes at him, confusion mingling with my grogginess. "A deal? What for? I am chained up like a criminal, I am in desperate need of a bath and you want to taunt me with deals?” The man chuckled darkly, crossing his arms over his chest. "Well, Lochlan, you are quite the notorious figure. A rebel leader, they say. And as for the chains, let's just say it's for your own safety." My mind raced, trying to piece together the events that had led t
