THE HUNT FOR ANSWERS.Chills raced across Ava's skin as she gradually opened her eyes. Where was she, and how did she get here? Ava's eyes dilated as she glanced through the large bedroom. Who brought her here? Different ideas reverberated through her mind as she felt a sudden intense pain in her head. She gazed in the room once more to see if she could get any clue of how she got in there, but nothing seemed to be working in her favor. Instead, it added to her aching head, which she now rested her hands on. Fear gripped Ava as she visualized the worst of what could have ensued to her. Why was she in the room alone?Ava was still resonant in her unsettled thoughts when a voice echoed in her head. “Reading books all day. Why don't you just come out for just a night and experience the other side of life.” The words replayed over and over in her head. That was when realization washed over Ava, and she vividly recalled her friend persuading her to go out on a night party with her.

Ava caught her breath as she saw a white kitten pass by the hallways. She had almost thought it was one of her college mates. "What a relief" She whispered beneath her lips. She swings her room entrance open.Ava leaned her back against the door. The welcoming warmth of her room calmed Ava a bit. A faint nasty smell met her nostrils, tugging her face into a familiar grimace. Reality dawned on her when she caught a glimpse of how disorganized the room was. Ava sighted Lily's closet partly unlocked, with her clothing rolling on the floor. Make-up bags and shoes litter every part of the room. Ava strode to the sofa, where she found some of the dresses that she picked up. It instantly reminded her of the previous night. She ought to know what transpired last night. Hesitantly, Ava deeps her hand into her purse as she grasps her phone. She fell flat on her mattress, since it was the only arranged thing in her room at that point. THE TRUTH MUST COME OUT!The piercing sound of the alarm clock brought Ava back from the dead of her sleep. She fiddled and stretched within her warm bed. Ava's eyes were a bit teary as she felt a lump in her throat. The days come and go, leaving her questions hanging in thin air with no apparent answers. No distress is reduced. Her heart was ruined trying to merge the puzzled pieces of her life. Ava plowed away, the pessimistic ideas driving their way into her mind. It wasn't a day of second-guessing or remorse, it was a day of doing. How time flies! She wondered. It has been two weeks of mixed emotions, and Ava wasn't ready to drown in her pool of sadness. The enticing scent of freshly brewed coffee wafted into the room, teasing her senses and pulling her concentration away from her thoughts.Within a few seconds, Lily appeared in front of Ava holding two coffee mugs. “Here you go.” She pulled out one of the coffee mugs for Ava before grabbing a seat beside her on the bed.

Ava opened her eyes gradually, feeling disoriented. She fluttered a few times to become accustomed to the brightness of the room, and her thoughts raced through her mind. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes for a moment, trying to recollect her thoughts. Where am I? She mumbled. Her thoughts were quickly distracted by the sound of approaching footsteps. The door opened, and she felt her heart catch in her throat as a young man entered the room. A gentle smile spread across his face as he greeted Ava. “I see you are awake,” he said, and Ava raised her eyebrows. “You are at the college clinic, and I am Dr. Mark.” He went on to explain the circumstances of Ava's arrival. “You passed out at the college and were brought here by the administrators and a close friend,” he said.Dr. Mark asked Ava how she was feeling, and she responded that she was feeling fine. “I just have a slight headache,” she said, “but since I passed out, I can leave now. In the doctor's office, Ava and Lily took their seats. Before he could speak, Dr. Mark gave Ava a reassuring smile. “You are ready to tell me what's going on, aren't you?” “Yes.” Ava stuttered. Ava illustrated everything that had happened the other night, which led her into this situation. The doctor gestured his sympathy as he listened to Ava's story. How is it possible for a young girl to go through so much? That was what they thought the doctor had in mind, at least until he finally broke the silence.“I can assist you in terminating the pregnancy. He stopped.”But only under one condition. The doctor concluded his statement. “What's that?” Ava's eyebrows raised. “You will have sex with me three times if you want me to assist you in having the baby aborted, so you can take your exams." He spoke. The comments irritated Ava. How could he say something so repulsive? A doctor should have compassion for his patients, not lust. Am I now just a sex object? I will never agree to t

Ava thought to herself as she kept looking at the door, anticipating Lily's arrival. Her phone beeped, which distracted Ava from her pool of thoughts. Ava's heart thumped when she noticed the caller. Her auntie! Her aunt hasn't called her in a while.Due to her busy schedule, her aunt only calls her at the end of every month. Why was her auntie calling now? Ava was bothered by it, but she had to pick it up. Ava's mouth hung open when she heard her aunt's first sentence.“Tell me you aren't pregnant, Ava."
