Out Of The Pack

After his call with Alpha Dylan, Sage decided to visit the seer outside the pack. He agreed to leave as early as possible the next morning so they wouldn't notice that he was out of the pack since he planned not to tell anyone except Alpha Cowell and his father. He didn't even plan to tell Aurora since he knew she wouldn't let him leave. He immediately made his way to the Alpha chamber and the guards opened the room for him to go in. "Sage?" The Alpha called. "It's me, Alpha, how are you doing?" Sage requested bowing his head in greeting. "I'm not doing so well as you can see," Alpha Cowell uttered. Sage made a sad countenance and moved to him on his bed. He sat and took the Alpha's hands to his, making some soft caress on them. "You'll be fine, Alpha. I fear you have lost a lot of your memories." Alpha Cowell shrugged his shoulders, "What do you think?" "So sorry," Sage appealed. "What are you sorry for? My sickness? You don't have to. I think I prefer it this way. At least

How To Know About The Past

Sage climbed on the steps of the reservoir bit by bit, hoping he got what he came from. He got to the top of the stairs and turned to open the only available door. As he moved inside, he saw himself walking into what seemed like someone's sitting room. At first, he thought he had been misled by the ladies but then he decided to move fully into the room. Just when he got to the middle of the sitting room, he was a little girl about ten years old sitting on a couch reading a book. The girl who felt his figure raised her head to look at him. She smiled when their faces met and Sage returned his smile. "Uhm… Sorry to barge into your home this way, I came looking for someone," Sage apologized and the girl stood up to meet him. "You're looking for my dad, the Seer, right?" she questioned, gawking at him. "Oh! Your dad? Yes, I'm looking for the Seer who lived here," he answered, realizing the girl was the daughter of a Seer. "Come with me," she beckoned to him and Sage did as to

Are You Angry With Me?

Sage took his trip back home in thought. He still couldn't believe what the Seer had told him. However, he had no choice but to take the process since that was the only way to find out why Aurora's lineage was cursed. He was told by the Seer that someone had cursed her and had locked the memory so no one would be able to find out what the curse was so it wouldn't be broken. Sage grinned to himself. Was the person joking with him? Because he was ready to do anything to make Aurora his mate. No one would stop him, not even the person who had cursed the lineage. It was around 2 pm that Sage arrived at the pack and he made sure he didn't cause a fuss so people wouldn't notice he had gone out of the pack. The moment he got to their pack, he mind-linked Rae. He drove his car into the pack building parking lot and the first person who welcomed him was Rae. He got out of his car while Rae bowed in respect to him. "You didn't tell me you'll be leaving the pack," Rae conceded and Sage gave

Learn From The Leader

Sage stomped his way to his father's house. He was upset that Aurora wouldn't trust him with whatever he was planning to do. His anger grew when he knew he couldn't explain the reason he had gone out of the pack. He thought of how a lady could have such a temper and refuse to listen to her Alpha. He had tried his best to prevent her from getting angry with him with the marbles of her not telling him she would leave him. He knew not informing her anything about his plans was wrong especially when she gets to know about it but he wanted to get into it so in case she found out, she wouldn't be able to stop him. He finally made use of his inhumane speed and got to his house in no time. He pushed on the gate and hurried into the sitting room. "Mother!" he called and he got a response immediately. He traced her scent that led him to his room. He heaved a heavy breath when he got into his room seeing his mother cleaned his room. He sauntered to her and gave her a back hug nudging his head o

Rule Number One

"Get ready," she suddenly said to him, freeing herself from his embrace. "Ready for what?" he asked, looking lost. "You asked Rae for a trainer, and here's your salvation," she chuckled. "Get ready." "Oh, my salvation." He gave her a wry smile as he got himself kitted for whatever lesson she was going to be taking him through. She was already set, waiting for him to kit up. He didn't feel comfortable in the combat attire Rae had helped him put on. It felt really strange, considering it was nothing like he was used to. "Do I need all this?!" he protested to Rae. "Believe me, this is going to be completely different from what you got from the guys; Aurora is a completely different species. So, you wouldn't want to go up against her dressed all too casually." "Too much to take for just training." Picking his sword, he walked up to her and informed her of his readiness. "Ready," he announced to her, dangling his sword before her. "I see." Before they began, she explained to him th

Threat On Themselves

The laughter was deafening. They seemed to be making a mockery of his unsuccessful attempts to beat his trainer. He sat still on the floor, trying to get over what he had just witnessed. "What the heck just happened?" he managed to utter his first post-defeat words, looking at Rae. Managing a grim smile, Rae reminded him how he had warned him to be on his toes whilst being trained by her. "You can't say I didn't tell you." "But I didn't see that coming!" he protested. "What is rule number one?" "You must always be on your guard. Your enemy will never give you a cooling break," he struggled to complete it, looking down. "I'm glad you remember what she said. You better get up," he said, drawing his attention to Aurora and the rest of the pack who was fast approaching them. "Get up, Alpha," Rae told him again. He was more worried about Sage's reputation before the pack than any other thing. On the other hand, Sage was more concerned about catching his breath than getting up. What

The Pain Is Always There

While Sage patiently waited for Aurora to finish cooking, he suddenly sensed someone jabbing into his thoughts and instantly, he opened his mind link for the person. "You should check on Alpha Cowell, right now, Alpha," Beta Rae conceded to him and Sage knew something might have gone wrong. He sprang up hurriedly and was about to tell Aurora that he needed to see the Alpha but since he knew she was tired and might get worried, he decided to leave and return later. He carefully left the chamber and made his way to the Alpha's chamber. He couldn't tell why his heart was racing but he decided to be calm with it. He got to Alpha Cowell's chamber and stood unnoticed by the door as he helplessly heard him cough long and hard. His mind drifted to the research he had carried out about the Alpha's illness. He did not need to be a doctor to know that every passing day of his hardheartedness brought him closer to death. His heart hurt remembering that. Every senior wolf of the Lock Heart

Angry Pinocchio

The fight soon ended with Sage pomping his right hand up in the air in celebration. He had received rousing applause from the pack. Just like them, he was visibly relieved that he had finally recorded his first victory over the hard-to-beat Aurora, who managed a wry smile while still being laid on the floor. To Sage, nothing was sweeter than beating her right in front of the rest, especially before the foul-mouthed Derrick, who had talked down on his chances of being a swordsman. At least, he had proven to them that he could fight with swords made by mortals. Before he could say, Jack Robinson, he was already on the floor, writhing in pain. Everything had happened so fast, such that it looked more like a supernatural sucker punch. The applause had given way to chucklings from the pack. "Rule number three," Aurora began, picking up their sword, "Never celebrate a victory too soon while your enemy still breathes. "You're still their alpha," she whispered to him, referring to the pack,

Trying To Sort Things Out

After speaking harshly to Alpha Cowell, Sage angrily stormed out of his chamber, even unconsciously hitting his dazzled father on his way out. He now understood better why his father had spoken to him in such anger. Just like his supernatural powers, the Alpha's heart was a no-go zone. When he had his mind made up on a matter of interest, he seemed to lock his heart and have the key thrown away, far from where any mortal could find it. "What is so beautiful about death that has appealed to the Alpha's heart?" he thought to himself as he walked down to his chamber. Rae had returned with the pack from their hunting expedition. "Have you seen Aurora?" he hastily asked him, still reeling. "Oh, yes, she should be in your chamber. She was looking for you everywhere. Where have you been, Sage?" he asked, surprised by his countenance. It didn't look like he had a smile on him. "I'll see you later," he just walked away, leaving Rae rotting on the spot, concerned. He got in and met Aurora
