Alisha:I sighed softly to myself, mourning the warmth of the evening as I turned on my other side trying to get comfortable enough to sleep.Alas it seemed that I wasn’t going to be able to easily get the rest I needed.I laid awake with my eyes open and ears picking up the sounds of the curtains rustling, the crickets and owls, as well as the rustling of leaves of the trees.I let out another big sigh, before pushing myself up. It took some maneuvering with my large belly but I managed it with a grunt. And I left the bed towards the bathroom to wash my face.Another full moon was coming - the first one since I truly got together with Derek. It was a milestone that was truly worth celebrating. But it made me nervous as well.As the soon to be Luna of the Red Wolf Pack, I would have to do something I had never gotten the chance to before. It was something out of my skill set, or so I thought. And that was to participate in the festivities as much as possible.I returned to bed, burrow

Alisha:Sebastian! His eyes were devilish, filled with maliciousness as he tugged the bundle from my arms, shoving me to the ground.“My children,” i wept as Sebastian held them in his arms, his green eyes glinting as he regarded me.Then all of a sudden I felt a sharp pain in my belly and looked down.Blood, I managed to process.I was bleeding to death.I woke up gasping for breath at the crack of dawn, having slept for barely half the night. My heart was pounding and the dream stayed in the forefront of my mind as I moved on autopilot, shaking as I got ready for the day, barely paying attention to anything and anyone.I don’t know how I managed to reach the pack clinic then, but I entered and began to call his name out desperately, looking around for any hints of the pack doctor.Eventually I heard footsteps behind me and turned around as he emerged from the stairs, looking like he had just finished getting dressed.“Alisha? It’s quite early,” he remarked. “What-?”“Simon,” I sobbe

Derek:Days later, I arrived at the border early, just like the previous morning.Alpha Nate of the Grey Pack, Alpha Eric of Hilltop Pack and Beta Damon of the Ferron Pack, were already there seated and talking amongst themselves as I stepped into the room the guards had set up at the border.“Good morning, everyone,” i greeted, and all eyes turned to me. “I do hope you all did not have to wait for long.”Alpha Nate responded, being the oldest one out of all of them - already a greying man in his 60s.“Not at all, Alpha Derek.”The others murmured their assent, waiting for me to take my seat.“Now, where did we stop yesterday?” I asked. This meeting was the most important one I had to have. And I had managed to organize it all without Gerard’s knowledge which was a plus. I had been able to swing it, that only the guards I knew for sure were loyal to only me would be able to guard the border while the meeting went on.It was equally important and urgent for me to form allies with many

Alisha’s POV:I smiled wanly at the woman who thanked me profusely, leading her child gently away. He had come in along with two other young pups with broken arms. Apparently they had been playing rough as children were wont to do. I enjoyed this part of working in the clinic - seeing grateful patients leave feeling a lot better made me filled with accomplishment and satisfaction after working. However the satisfaction and accomplishment didn’t happen this time. Instead all I could do was let out a weary sigh and return to jotting down the appointment dates.I knew what I was doing - I was using work as a crutch for the problems in my life. The issues I had wouldn’t go away. So far I had been able to manage and hide the effects of my many nightmares from Derek and Melissa. Derek had been busy these days with a lot of pack duties so it wasn’t hard. Melissa had been the hardest to convince and I had heard from Simon that she had asked numerous questions of him about my well-being.Day a

Derek’s POV:I could see the expression of being caught red handed on Alisha’s face but I didn’t know exactly why.I cocked a brow at her and beckoned her to come over, and silently she did, but not before giving Simon another glance.I definitely didn’t miss the meaning my gaze the pack doctor gave her and that only served to further make me curious. What was going on?As Alisha took my arm, I decided to shelve that thought and impending question for later. It wouldn’t do to make her upset when she has clearly been overworking herself, as my mother had said.“Let’s go,” I said to Alisha, leading her out of the office. Benjamin who had accompanied me here, waited for us at the front doors of the clinic.“Hey,” my best friend addressed Alisha with a soft smile. “You okay?”She nodded, but didn’t say much else as I led her towards the direction of home, Benjamin beside me.While we walked I had the idea that she was definitely hiding something important from me. It wasn’t hard to miss,

Alisha:I couldn’t take the nightmares as well as I thought I would. I was such a weakling, I thought helplessly. I pressed my nose intonDerek’s body to inhale his scent, knowing it would calm me down. I had to take in deep breaths, and the scent of sandalwood and other mixed scents that made me feel a lot better enveloped me.“Are you feeling better now?” I heard him ask and i loosened my grip on him, nodding, my cheeks burning so much.I could feel his eyes on me, as I cleared my throat.“I’m okay,” my voice was hoarse, and I knew I had to have been quite loud if he had heard me and come to wake me up. “I… I’m sorry,” i apologized without thinking.“You have nothing to apologize for, love?” He sighed, as if I had troubled him again. “Do tou want to talk about it? Your nightmare?”His question posed to me sounded innocent enough. Yet I faltered; his voice couldn’t hide the curiosity he felt, and that scared me. I wasn’t yet ready to tell him the truth about who I was dreaming about

Alisha I paced up and down the length of my bedroom. This morning Simon had sent me home as soon as I got there, because Derek had sent word to him.Silver Moon Pack warriors were at the border. I shuddered, wondering why I felt so uneasy at the thought. I had not done anything wrong, right? So why did I feel so upset?“Oh goddess,” I prayed aloud, clasping both of my palms together. “Please let this not be a bad thing. I don’t want to lose Derek.” Still the feeling persisted and by the time I heard a knock on my door I was beside myself with worry.“Who is it?” I called out only for the door to open and I saw a warrior I didn’t recognize. “Miss, the Alpha calls you to the border,” the warrior greeted me with a short bow and relayed his message. What? What did Derek want me to do at the border? My brows were furrowed as I nodded and followed the warrior out of the room, unable to figure out what exactly was the matter. Was I walking into a trap?Had I done something wrong? I wadd

Derek:Hearing Alisha scream my name over and over again even in the distance was lkke having daggers pierce my heart, but I stood still and coldly, not even making a move.I felt heavy, filled with woes and wounds so deep no one could heal.I felt betrayed, for lack of a better word. And now I had lost her.I shook my head minutely, trying my best to dispel that notion. I had not lost her - she had never been mine in the first place. She had been Sebastian’s all this time. Nothing but Sebastian’s.Still staring straight at the empty spot where Sebastian and the Silver Moon Pack had occupied, I ordered the warriors to disperse and to not say a word of anything to anyone in the pack. These warriors were ones that I could trust completely, not loyal to Gerard in any way.It took a long time before I could bring myself to leave the forest, as echoes of her voice still stayed stuck in my head.I was going mad.I hated her for this; I hated myself even more for falling for someone like her.

Chapter 79
Alisha:I opened my eyes to find myself in a strange bedroom. The painful memories flooded my mind and I sat up immediately, quaking upon seeing the bars on the windows. I looked down at myself; I was only in my underwear.Who had undressed me? What had happened?I didn’t know, but one thing was certain.I was back in the Silver Moon Pack. This was a nightmare, one that I hoped would never come to pass. Yet here was I living it in reality.Just as I processed that, the door opened and a maid walked in, bearing a tray of food. She walked towards the table and dropped it, before turning to me and silently gesturing.“Please,” my voice was steadier than I expected. “Can you help me? I need to leave this place. I… I can’t stay here.”The maid looked saddened for a moment before then shaking her head. Then, she opened her mouth. My eyes widened; she had no tongue.Just that action of hers left me shaken and she gestured again, closing her mouth and pointing to the tray, trying to convince
