SEVENTY TWO

Derek:

Days later, I arrived at the border early, just like the previous morning.

Alpha Nate of the Grey Pack, Alpha Eric of Hilltop Pack and Beta Damon of the Ferron Pack, were already there seated and talking amongst themselves as I stepped into the room the guards had set up at the border.

“Good morning, everyone,” i greeted, and all eyes turned to me. “I do hope you all did not have to wait for long.”

Alpha Nate responded, being the oldest one out of all of them - already a greying man in his 60s.

“Not at all, Alpha Derek.”

The others murmured their assent, waiting for me to take my seat.

“Now, where did we stop yesterday?” I asked.

This meeting was the most important one I had to have. And I had managed to organize it all without Gerard’s knowledge which was a plus. I had been able to swing it, that only the guards I knew for sure were loyal to only me would be able to guard the border while the meeting went on.
