Lara glanced behind her, confused. She couldn't actually be speaking to her, could she? She looked behind the girl to see Cassandra frowning. "Cat caught your tongue?""What the hell is going on?" Tessy inquired, coming out of the office. "I'm speaking to this tiny wolf here. She must be the one I've been hearing rumors about. The one staying in the palace," she said angrily. "I do not care what you think. No one is fighting in my shop. Please leave," Tessy told her. "TESSY!! You are not going to tell me what I should do!" "Well, I can tell you what you should do, Fayn. And that is to go running to your mighty father," Cassandra spoke up, coming from behind her. Fayn glared at her. "Oh, I see. So you both are in this together. I'm disgusted," she flips her hair. "And you, just wait. I'll come to the palace and when I do, it'll be to get married to His Majesty." "Well, we can't wait for that day to come. Now leave!" "Hhmm!" Fayn turned around and walked away with a set of handm

"Who is it?" Was the first thing Lara asked when she heard the knock on her door. She stood up from the bed, pulling the sheets with her to cover her body. Shocked and a little bit excited, she opened the door. "Your Majesty," she said in surprise. Brad stood in front of her door. Her heart skipped a beat at his gaze. Her wolf started panting and barking happily. "Lara, why are you not ready for your training?" He asked, staring at sheets gathered around her chest. She drew them closer. "I… I.. you didn't come.." "But I'm here now, aren't I? I'll give you a few minutes, go put on something appropriate and come out. I won't wait for long," he cuts her speech. She nodded and quickly entered the room. "Calm down, girl," Brad tried to calm the silver wolf barking at him. His beast was also excited. She must have been waiting for this moment for a very long time. She bared her teeth before jumping off his body and stretching. He tried not to smile but she was acting too cute and lovely. "Lara," he called her. She looked at him expectantly. "Come here." She walked to him. "Now is not the time, little mate. Right now, we are going to train so I'll be a little strict, okay?" She whimpered. He touched her head, trying to calm her by patting her. "We'll play later, okay?" She nodded and barked. "Good, now move back a little bit," he ordered and she did as instructed. "Attack me!" He said, holding a stance of defense. She stood still for a minute before growling and jumping on him. **********************"Go and take your bath, you still have a lot to do today," Brad told Lara as they walked to her room. I'm ready," Lara answered. "Would Desi's father be searching for you?" Brad asked. "Yes." "Why? Is it because of Desi or there is something else?""I'm not sure but I do know Desi is one of the reasons." "What do you mean?" Cage inquired. "We have never been regular mates. His father, the Alpha, had always hated me. It wasn't like that when my parents were alive. He loved and played with me, George too." "Ever since my father and cousin ran away, his attitude changed overnight. I became an outcast in the pack. No one was allowed to help me. I waited patiently for my eighteenth birthday so I could leave but the Moon Goddess had to punish me for a crime I didn't commit.""Ok, so you had been staying in the pack all those while?" "Yes, in my parents' house. I had nowhere else to go. Besides, my dad said to wait for him. I couldn't just leave," she tried to explain. "Okay, continue please.""When I found out he was my mate, I was devastated but a little bit happy. I thought maybe

Did anything good happen today or rather, last night?" Lara turned to her, ready to deny it. "What are you talking about?" "Don't act so clueless! Have you reconciled with the Kings?" "No, he suddenly disappeared like he was never here. How are you?" Brad asked, touching the tiny cut on her lips. It was already healing. "I'm fine," she smiled and let go of his hands. They had agreed to keep their relationship a secret for now so she could not be seen holding Brad's hands. "Why didn't you tell me?" He frowned. She bit her lips as she glanced at Cassandra behind her. Why did she have to yell? "There was nothing to tell, I'm fine. I'm sorry for causing an alarm. Cage sighed and sat beside her, his meeting totally forgotten. "Why don't you take the day off? We could be with you and take care of you." "No!" She refused immediately. "I'm fine, I thought we said we were not going to announce our bond." "We won't be announcing it. Although I'd love to," Brad turned around and said. "We could just be here for a while with you," Cage added. "No, I don't want that. There are a lot of people outside waiting for you already. I think it would be better if you would leave. Act like nothing happened." Lara stood up from the bed. Staying there would not help her cause. She could already see the flickering gaze of Brad between his beast and him. Laying there could only lead to one thing. "Okay, we will leave. I'll see you later," Cage murmured, frowning. He didn't want to

The next day, "Stay with her. Do not let her out of your sight,l. Not even for a second," Cage warned them. "Yes, Your Majesty," the guards answered. He was still not satisfied. He glanced at Brad. "Do you think we should add more men? I'm not comfortable with this plan," he grumbled. "There'll be no need for that," Brad said, walking forward. He looked too relaxed about everything. He was positive the plan would work. Lara was already on her way outside. They do not want her to suspect anything. It would only get her scared. "We'll be behind them so there's no need to worry." Cage's lips thinned. He stopped the words that were about to leave his lips. Lara cannot get hurt again. Not on his watch. By doing this, they were placing her in harm's way and he didn't like it. "I'm here," Lara announced, breathing heavily. She had to run out since Cassandra had been waiting for her for quite a while. "What is going on?" She became skeptical as soon as she saw the group of men behind
