Chapter 11

HarrisonIt was the last working day of the week. My father had called me several times to check on the school he had put in my name. Sometimes, I wondered why most of his properties were in my name.My brother is probably enjoying himself in New York, while I have to deal with all this shit father has started. The man is old enough, I must say.It was a hassle, walking through the crowds at the university. My guards had to push the crowd back so they wouldn't crush me to pieces. Most of whom were women. As I walked further, I saw a scene ahead. A lady being beaten to a pulp. Women and turning themselves into cheap trash. Well, it wasn't any of my business. The noise from these people was creating a lot of damage to me. I'll have to get new clothes once I get to the office.I came to a halt when I got to the lady that had been beaten. Her hair was ruined and her dress. I wondered what color it was supposed to be. She was held up by two guys while one guy stood in front. He bowed to me

Chapter 12

HarrisonIt was shocking to hear Serena speak on the phone. Her voice was different and thicker. I laughed."Who's asking?", I replied. She was silent. Women are crazy. She had been cheating on me for as long as I can remember and had never put a sensible call through to check up on me since last year. And here she is, suddenly asking who Eleanor was.At last, Eleanor was doing the work she was supposed to do." It's Serena". Her voice was calm now compared to when she first spoke. Why'd she used a foreign number to call me in the first place?" I know it's you. Supposed wife. I am fine, thanks for asking"." Look, it's not like I don't want to call or anything, you know how busy-""- I've been, right?", I interrupted her. It was no use picking up a fight." I'll explain to you later, so first answer my question. Who the fuck is Eleanor!"This was interesting. Finally getting her attention. Maybe this would make her come back to her senses and come back to me." You want to know? Come

Chapter 13

Harrison I followed Jay as he drove Eleanor to wherever she was going. I wondered why she was so bent on going. I was in the car while they entered the building. Hours had passed and I didn't see Eleanor or Jay so I decided to take a sneak peek. The place was crowded so I didn't pass by, instead I went round the house to the poolside. People were there, most were kissing and taking pictures, and others were doing one thing or the other. And there was Eleanor, sipping a glass of wine at the edge of the pool. I stood at the corner and watched her look around. She was with no friends, neither was she playing a game nor did she look like she was enjoying the party. Why did she come to the party? I looked away to the other side, but by the time I looked back, Eleanor wasn't there. People were screaming and pointing to the pool, and that was when it struck me that Eleanor had fallen into it

Chapter 14

Eleanor I ended up not eating that morning. I remembered how painful it had been struggling underwater like that. I stayed in my room for the rest of the day. It wasn't so coincidental that I fell in the pool, there's no way I fell on my own. Somebody pushed me. I had that thought for a long time before deciding not to worry about it again. Mr Harrison had been coming back home and he had me monitored. He also collected my phone because of the videos that were posted online. I have been popping up a lot online these days and Mr Harrison has been a trending hashtag. Two weeks and I've been home doing nothing. No phones, no maids to talk to. I felt like I'd been growing a little too old in this house. I barely see Mr. Harrison too, mayhaps because I've been indoors. It was a hard task not to go out.  I got homesick and decided to go to Mr. Harrison and talk a little with him. I stood

Chapter 15

Eleanor I was still at the restaurant with Mr Harris. I sat back and thought for a while. I was sure I saw my mom, why didn't it occur to me that she was dead? The moment I saw her, it felt as if she only went on a trip and just got back. Mr. Harris finally sipped his Americano. " It doesn't make any sense." She was dead, why then did I see her or was I having illusions? " Are you sure it wasn't just your thoughts?" Mr. Harrison asked and gulped down all of his drink. " I have never had delusions that I won't know what's real or not, especially when it comes to my Mom. Something is wrong. Don't you think so?" Mr. Harrison let out a heavy sigh, " what if the person just resembled her?" " Then at least, I'd still meet the person when I went back to confirm. It wasn't up to ten minutes and she was gone, together with the lady."

Chapter 16

HarrisonIt has never crossed my mind to kiss a girl…. accidentally, especially not the girl I was using as an attraction. The sole motive to teach Eleanor how to be dependent on her own self had gone wrong and turned into something I wasn't anticipating. It was supposed to be a mere accident, but my heart was beating surprisingly fast. It was ridiculous. What was Eleanor thinking, throwing herself at me like that just to hit my stomach with her foot? Although it was an impressive attack, it was rather foolish.I was still on top of her, numb from the shock of having my lips on her. My heart was racing like a time bomb that was about to explode. She stared at me, flustered. I watched her flush which seemed contaminative 'cause I found myself soon in that position.I wasn't ready to move away from the awkward situation, I wanted to kiss her more than just lips touching each other but I had no guts to do so." Master, you have a-" a maid came in. The moment we heard the voice of the mai

Chapter 17

JessI have been scouting at my friend's place since the day we went for the night party. I was scared of going home to Mom without Eleanor. I wasn't ready to face her wrath. Aside from the fact that she was my Mom, I knew what she was capable of doing even to her own children. When I saw Van on the day of the party in school, we all saw Mr. Tolstoy. I was so happy that day, he was my idol. I waited so long to meet him. Usually, I only saw him on TV. He was more handsome in real life. That three weeks ago when I saw him, it was a pity that that day was the day we got our hands on Eleanor.Had we not brought Eleanor outside for a public embarrassment, Mr. Tolstoy wouldn't have interfered. He was so concerned about Eleanor that he carried her to his office. There was no way he knew her before then, I concluded he was just naturally caring for girls that were treated badly, which led to my plan of disguising myself like an Injured lady so the next time he comes to school he can take care

Chapter 18

EleanorI felt so relieved after getting my phone from Mr Harrison. The first call was predictable, I knew Emil had been trying my number almost every minute. I didn't answer the call because I needed to settle down from my excitement. The moment Mr. Harrison left, I called Emil." What the fuck!!! That the hell happened to you. Where have you been? I thought you died. Do you have any idea how worried I am? I couldn't find you, you didn't come to school. The last time I saw you or heard from you was at the party and nothing was wrong with you. I saw the video, that Jess of a witch, I knew she was up to something after showing up uninvited.." Emil sounded as if he was ranting." Hey. Calm down. I'm fine." I said calmly. I wasn't calm though, I had thousands of words that I wanted to tell him too. The words were hanging in my throat as I spoke. I needed to see Emil. I needed to hug him. Having a best friend like Emil was the only thing that got me going." Eleanor! Okay okay, I'll calm

Chapter 19

EleanorIt's been four days since Mr Harrison spoke to me. Mr. Harrison has been frowning since he blurted out his mind to me. I honestly wasn't expecting it or looking forward to it.I was still confused, my mind wasn't settled. We were already getting close to being on good terms but what he told me the other day was out of the question. It sounded like he had been waiting for an opportunity for him to tell me. The next day, I tried approaching him but he kept on putting on his avoidance amour. It was becoming too much that I had to sit and think about it.In truth, I have been reaching out of the contract. I even almost forgot it was a contract marriage. We were getting too close. I focused my mind on standing my ground and getting focused. My life was getting too suffocating. A maid was supposed to reach the market so I seized the opportunity to go by myself. She didn't want to let me but eventually, she had to give in. The guards wanted to drive me but I really wanted to walk it

Chapter 20

August.Leanor looked pale when I told her I was a friend of Harry. Perhaps she ran away from home and became a servant here. But the Eleanor I know would never settle for something like that. So what business did she have there?I glanced at her as I drove off. Dash it all, Eleanor was far prettier than I remembered. It was fascinating. When she came and caught me with Jess that day, her cheeks were sallow, and her eyes still gazed with something like shock back then. Probably the Maltreatment and the cheating which was surely difficult. But still, that creature bore no resemblance to the rosy-cheeked, hazel-eyed sylph who sat beside me as if…well, as if I was a man and she a woman.Frequently, I spied on her as she set her focus on the other side of the window. Even in a long, big gown, she was more graceful and attractive than most of the women I've met in my life. She wouldn't look at me, even though I was sure she knew I was looking at her. She always did.I drove into the gates
