Chapter 132Bruno washed his bloodied hands in the sink as the men watched Connor's breathing. It just seemed like he was battling to survive, battling to stay alive and they hated to think that this was now the reality of this life, this was how he was going to live. Soon, Bruno was done and as they all stared at Connor's body, they each said a prayer for his recovery. None of them wanted to lose him and they hoped that soon, he would make a turnaround."Is he going to be okay?" Orlando asked, breaking the silence.Bruno sighed, not even knowing the answer to give to that question. When Hans had brought Connor in, he had anticipated just some flesh wounds and son superficial injury but he had got the shock of his life when instead, he had found wounds of various degrees, marks and cuts that could only have been made from one of the cruelest pieces of instrument ever known in the history of torturing. He had removed several things from his body, several sharp objects that shouldn't ev

Chapter 134In the dimly lit, smoke-filled room at the back of Bruno's house, Hans gathered them with a solemn expression etched on his face. The room was thick with tension as they sat around a worn-out wooden table.Hans, his voice barely above a whisper, broke the silence, "There's been a betrayal, my friends, and it's someone we would never have suspected." He paused for a moment, letting the gravity of his words sink in. "It's Fred."Orlando's eyes widened in disbelief, while Bruni known for his sinister grin, let out a twisted laugh. "Fred? That fool?" his voice oozed with mockery. "He's always been a weak link."Hans nodded gravely, "Yes, but his betrayal runs deep. He's been secretly lusting after Annah, Connor's fiancée."Bruno had learnt everything there was to learn about Fred and Annah and he liked that Hans didn't hide anything from him at all and was always so open to everyone.Orlando's laughter grew even more sadistic as he leaned back in his chair. "Oh, that idiot Fre

Chapter 136"I hope no one was hurt? I mean people who came for the naming ceremony?" Connor asked. The last thing he would want was to hear that people indeed got hurt after everything they had been through. He would never be able to live with the guilt because he knew that everything was his fault. He had endangered them, put them in harm's way and it was something that he would never be able to forgive himself for."No, surprisingly, nobody was hurt, which is our only saving grace." Hans smiled.Connor heaved a sigh of relief and he was quite glad that there was no trouble coming from that side. He knew that the people would have a right to sue and he would never blame them because it was their responsibility to ask for damages after going through something as horrific as that."Where is Michael now? I need an intel on him," Connor said.Hans glanced at Orlando and the big man knew it was his cue to give them everything they wanted. He had secretly been keeping tabs on Michael with

Chapter 138It's been over a week since the attack and to say that Connor had made an outstanding recovery would be an understatement, he had improved so well that Bruno didn't think it was possible. He liked the way he had surmounted all of the challenges he faced and that was one thing he was grateful for and happy about because he knew that judging from the severity of those wounds, he might never have been able to make it."You are really fit now," Bruno smiled.Connor nodded, looking at his bare body in the full length mirror of his room. Russo, Hans and Orlando were also present and they were quite happy that their boss was alright. What had happened to him was one of the worst things that could ever happen to anyone and in that moment, they were just happy that he was able to make a break out of everything."Annah, Martha and your child will be here soon." Russo said."At long last, thank you." Connor said.Hans, who had been on his tablet, tracking Michael and his men's moveme

Chapter 140"Okay guys, listen up. I think we need to talk about something very important." Annah said.Everyone's conversation died down as all eyes and attention were on her. She was the madam of the house and they knew that whatever she was about to say had to be very important for her to require their attention."Fire away my love," Connor smiled, blowing her kisses.Annah rolled her eyes but inside, she was giddy with happiness because finally, her man was with her."I was just thinking about something just now and I wanted to hear what you all have to say about it." She said,"Okay love, what's on your mind?" Martha asked."Over the past few weeks, we all knew what happened to Connor and how he had struggled to survive and we also know that our safehouse is no longer safe. It has been compromised ever since that bastard destroyed a day that was supposed to be a day of joy and love." Annah seethed.Connor sighed, seeing the look of pain and hurt in her eyes. For as long as they l
