Lexie’s POV “Thank you for coming and getting me.” I say to Emily as we pull out of the lane away from the packhouse. “Not a problem.” Emily says as she keeps her eyes on the road and I can tell something is bothering her. “What’s wrong?” I ask her and she finally turns to me and smiles and says, “Nothing’s wrong.” “Emily, you look like you saw a ghost or something.” I tell her as I look at her closer. Her pale cheeks were flush like she had a fever or something. “Are you feeling alright?” I ask her now. “Eric and I broke up.” Emily finally says and my heart begins to ache for her. “Why didn’t you call and tell me?” I asked her. “You had a lot on your plate lately and I didn’t want to add to it.” She says and I hate the fact that she didn’t come to me with this because she thought I had too much going on in my life. “Now I feel bad troubling you with my own issues.” I tell her as I lower my head. “Don’t feel that way. Lexie’s POV Warm strong arms incase me as I wake and the feeling of belonging courses through my veins.
