Lexie’s POV

The limo pulled in front of the grand hall that the event was being held at and my nerves felt uneasy as we sat waiting for the driver to open our door. Samuel’s hand took mine into his as if he could feel my unease. “Just stay next to me the whole time and you will be fine.” Samuel says as he gives my hand a little squeeze.

Just stay with him and everything will be fine, I repeated his words in my head before the door was open to the limo. Taking a deep breath, I stepped out onto the red carpet as cameras began to flash at me as I stood still my heart frantically beating in my chest but then Samuel was by my side wrapping an arm around me and then his lips came to my ear and he whispered, “I got you.” My eyes then turned to look him in the eyes and I knew that he meant it.

We began to walk down the red carpet with Samuel’s arm possessively wrapped around me, bringing comfort to me. We posed for another photo and one of the reporters yelled, “Ms. Thomas is this your

Lexie’s POV We left the event early saying goodbye to Emily and Xavier and congratulating them once again on their upcoming wedding. The ride back to my house was in silence as Samuel kept a possessive hand on my thigh just like he did at the table as he softly moved his finger caressing my thigh. When the limo arrived at my house Samuel didn’t wait for the driver to open the door as he helped me out of the limo and pulled me towards the front door. I let out a giggle knowing what was on his mind as he fumbled with my key to unlock the door. Once the door was unlocked, he swept me into his arms and carried me to the bedroom and laid me upon the bed as he pulled his suit jacket off and I felt the heat pool between my legs at the sight of him. I didn’t want to ruin the moment, but I needed him to know where I stood with this. “Samuel.” I said looking up at him. “Yes.” He said raising an eyebrow at me as he unbuttoned his shirt. “I need you to know that I have a mate.” I said h

  • Immortal Hunger   Chapter 52

Lexie’s POV The vacation was booked and we were driving up the lane to the packhouse as my nerves were on edge about seeing his mother again. Sophia was nothing but sweet to me the last time I had saw her but I honestly didn’t know what she would think of me now with her other son even though it was just an agreement among the two of us. Who knew how long it would be before Samuel also found his mate too or I f Chase finally showed his face and this claim he has on me was removed. When the car came to a stop, I took in a deep breath trying to calm my nerves as Samuel got of the car and came around to my door to open it. He presented his hand to me to help me out of the car and I hesitated to take his hand but gave in when he said, “Either you take my hand or I will pick you up and carry you into the house.” He didn’t let go of my hand as we walked into the house until his mother came into view and came our way and to my surprised hugged me and said, “Lexie it is so nice to see y

  • Immortal Hunger   Chapter 53

Lexie’s POV We emerged from Samuel’s bedroom with his packed luggage in hand with smiles upon both of our faces as we descended the grand staircase. Xavier appeared at the bottom of the steps and he quickly asked to speak to Samuel before we left, Xavier told me that Emily was on the back patio if I’d like to join her while they talked. Making my way through the house I walked to the door that led outside and as soon as I stepped foot outside the back door I froze. Sitting at the table having lunch with Emily was Tyler. As if he could sense my presence his eyes moved to me and our eyes locked. My stomach became a big knot and I thought my heart stopped as he stared at me. His stare was intense as if it was boring a hole through me. “Lexie!” Emily said as she stood and ran towards me giving me a hug, breaking my eye contact with Tyler. “I’m so glad you are here. We were just going over the plans for the wedding. Can you stay and help?” Emily said and I looked at the table where s

  • Immortal Hunger   Chapter 54

Tyler’s POV Never did I think that I would see Lexie so soon. When she walked out the back door and I sensed her my heart about stopped when my eyes met hers. She looked good like she had a glow about her. Like something or someone was making her happy and for a brief moment I thought maybe it was because of her seeing me but that thought was short lived when Samuel walked out and placed his arms around her like she was his. That is when I lost it. All hope that she was waiting for me to fix the situation was lost. Her words were harsh, and I realized that I deserved everything that she was saying to me but I was still clinging onto the hope that she would be mine someday. The wolf had made a promise to me to watch over her and to not take advantage of her in her state but he had broken that promise. But how does one blame him when such a beauty as Lexie is involved and when she was infuriated with me about leaving her alone without explaining her new needs as an immortal I knew r

  • Immortal Hunger   Chapter 55

Lexie’s POV I never was a fan of flying and I believe Samuel had figured that out as my nails were probably embedded into his leg by now as the plane took off. When the plane finely leveled off, I slowly loosened my grip on his leg, and I could hear a sigh of relief from Samuel beside me and I quickly looked at his face and I could see that I had caused him pain. “I am so sorry.” I said to him as I began to rub his leg where my hand was gripping him. He leaned into whisper to me, “Lexie, Sweetheart you have the strength of ten men now. Could you please take it a little easier on my poor leg.” And then he chuckled which made me laugh. Here I was scared of flying when in reality I was an immortal. I had no idea why flying made me so scared other than the whole plummeting out of the sky to a horrible death. The flight attendant came to us with her cart and asked if we would like a beverage. Samuel quickly ordered us two stiff drinks and handed one to me to drink hoping it would cal

  • Immortal Hunger   Chapter 56

Lexie’s POV We had spent the most part of our first day in that beautiful king size bed making love, but night was upon us and neither of us had eaten all day. As I slide the semi formal looking dress down over my head, I look in the floor length mirror approving it but then something catches my eye. A smile on my face something that hadn’t been there for so long. Something no man had ever truly put there before now. Large arms snake from behind me and pulls my back into him as I continue to stare at the mirror seeing the same smile on his face too. Is this what happiness was? “You look beautiful.” Samuel says as he places a kiss on the top of my head. “And so do you.” I said as I turned in his arm and reached up to place my lips on his. Just then I heard the rumbling of his stomach and being to giggle before I said, “I think my wolf needs fed.” “Your wolf?” He said as he began to attempt to tickle me. “Yes, my wolf.” I said as he stopped trying to tickle me and looked deep

  • Immortal Hunger   Chapter 57

Samuel’s POV The day had gone absolutely amazing until Lexie thought that something had happened to Tyler. It was in that moment that I knew she still loved him. The fear that something had happened to him drove her mad and I wasn’t able to reason with her until I made a call to Emily so that they could verify to her that Tyler was okay. After she had gotten confirmation that he was okay she went to the bathroom and took a shower with not a word to me. I was a fool to think for a second that this was real between us. She was clearly never going to give herself to me as long as Tyler lived. At that moment I realized that I needed to get out of the room before I said something to her that I was going to regret. As I walked down the pathway that led to the restaurant and bars, I heard music and began to walk towards it as I stumbled upon a bar and I found an empty bar stool and sat down on it. “You look like you could use a drink my friend.” The bartender said to me, and he was rig

  • Immortal Hunger   Chapter 58

Lexie’s POV Last night I had realized that I had made a grave mistake with Samuel. I knew that I had hurt him when he was gone when I came out of the shower. Clearly, I had overreacted thinking something was wrong with Tyler and I had ruined the moment that Samuel and I had just shared. I had no clue how it was even possible that I could have marked two separate men as mine and wondered if it had to do with them being different super naturals. I also wondered if allowing Samuel to mark me would remove this marking of Chase’s. It was something that I had thought about all night long, but I clearly had no one to talk to and I still couldn’t find my phone. If I could call Emily, she may be able to talk to Darla the witch that is a friend of Sophia’s, and she might know if it would work. Plus, I honestly didn’t know what I wanted. If Tyler wasn’t in the picture, I honestly would have considered last night sealing the mating bond with Samuel, but I just can’t do that right now because

Lexie’s POV One could say I was a bit nervous as I was to say my vows once again. This time things were a bit different than the last time and this time I had my best friend by my side as I waited for the wedding to start. Xavier then entered the room I was waiting in with Emily and quickly moved to her, placing his hand on her now extremely large belly. “How are you feeling?” He asked her concerned that she was ready to pop at any moment. She swatted his hand away and said to him, “I am not having this baby until I see my best friend marry my brother.” Xavier chuckled at her and then gave her a kiss before he turned to me and said, “I am happy for you today and I know that my brother is happy to see you are happy once again too. Tyler and Samuel may not have seen eye to eye on a lot of things, but the one thing that the both of them agreed on was that you were the one for them.” I could feel tears starting to pool behind my lids and Emily says to Xavier, “Get out of here before

  • Immortal Hunger   Chapter 124

Lexie’s POV After my talk with Emily, I headed home to my empty house. Pulling into the driveway with only the motion senser light turning on to my arrival and then opening a locked door with no one waiting on the other side to greet me, made me realize how alone in this world I really was. Laying my purse on the counter I walked over and slumped onto my couch with a million things now running through my head. Maybe Emily shouldn’t have told me about Tyler’s situation, like he asked her not to. I had been fine before all of this. I was beginning to be able to function normally in this world on my own. I was on my way to recovering and now I am sitting here thinking about him, trying to convince myself that I am happy all in this world alone without him. Yes, the last couple months had been rough, but I made it through them without him. I didn’t need him in my life and I was perfectly happy without him in it, I kept telling myself, but my heart began to ache the more I thought ab

  • Immortal Hunger   Chapter 123

Lexie’s POV Today was a huge milestone as it has been two months now on my own without Derrick by my side and I have been taking baby steps daily towards my old lifestyle. Each day has been a challenge for me but I have been trying to be positive moving forward in my life. It has also been months since I have talked to Tyler and I had met up with Lena and Emily a few times for lunch, but Lena seemed a little bit standoffish towards me and I don’t blame her. I knew she and Tyler were trying to make their marriage work even though that is what she had run from in the first place, but I could tell that she had resentment towards me, and I had no clue why. I had stayed away from Tyler not wanting to interfere in their relationship and I thought I was doing the right thing by doing so. Lena was my sister, there was no doubt about that but the two of us had been raised so differently that we really didn’t have much in common, unlike her and Emily. I had been asked many times to go sho

  • Immortal Hunger   Chapter 122

Lexie’s POV I watched as the real Lena walked directly to Tyler wrapping her arms around him and I could see the happiness in her eyes from being with him. It was a happiness that I used to have long ago when the two of us were together. “Lena, I want to introduce your twin sister to you, Lexie.” Tyler said to her and she turned my way like she hadn’t noticed me when she walked up to Tyler. “Wow, Tyler wasn’t kidding when he said we looked identical. I’m sorry where are my manners, it’s a pleasure to finally meet you. You will have to forgive my hesitation to embrace you, after what I have been through with our family. I hope that we can get to know one another, and I can find it in me to trust you. Tyler told me what happened to all of you on the island and I am sorry for your loss.” I knew exactly what she meant by having to find it in her to trust me because I also had the same feeling inside of me after what I had been through. “Don’t feel sorry for the way you feel, I hav

  • Immortal Hunger   Chapter 121

Lexie’s POV It’s now been a month since we returned from Boracay and still no word from Tyler and I am beginning to worry that something has happened to him too. The walls of the packhouse are starting to feel like a prison and I don’t know how much longer I can stay here. The only time I have left the pack lands is when Emily takes me to see a psychiatrist. After one of my breakdowns, Emily decided it would be a good idea to seek help for me with everything I had been through. Of course, the psychiatrist was a wolf and I could talk freely with her about what really happened. At first, we focused on the deaths of the twins and Samuel but then moved on to my fear of people shapeshifting, which seemed to be my biggest fear. Unfortunately, the treatments weren’t working so well and it was due to the amount of trauma I had been through in such a short period of time. I had no clue if I would ever live a normal life after everything I had seen. Derrick was once again assigned to me

  • Immortal Hunger   Chapter 120

Lexie’s POV Today was the second hardest day of my life laying Samuel to rest between his twin brother and our twins. Sophia didn’t blame me for her son’s death but welcomed me with open arms to their family. Even though Samuel’s family held no ill will against me for his death, I still felt the guilt on my shoulders. As Samuel’s celebration of life gathering happens, I sit in the corner of the room with my head down not knowing exactly if I belonged here. Yes, we were celebrating the life he lived and I was certainly a part of that life, but I felt out of place now among the wolves without him by my side. It had been a full week that I have been here at the packhouse and Emily has done her best to be by my side, but I feel so lost being here in Samuel’s room alone. Each day that passes I ask Emily if she has heard anything from Tyler and each day it is the same response of no. I had promised Tyler before I left the island that I would stay at the packhouse for my safety, but th

  • Immortal Hunger   Chapter 119

Lexie’s POV When Tyler and Xavier emerged from the packhouse I thought it was all over with but I was so wrong, by the look on their faces. Quickly, I stood up from the step I was sitting on as they walked towards me. I knew I had to look like a hot mess after all the crying I have been doing but I could care less. “What is it?” I asked them, wanting to know why they had the look on their faces that they had. Tyler shook his head, not able to say what needed to be said, which left Xavier to tell me, “It’s about Lena.” “What about Lena?” I asked him, confused as I looked up at the door to the house like she was going to walk out of it. “That wasn’t Lena I just killed in the house.” Xavier tells me and I furrow my eyebrows at him confused at what he is telling me. “Then who was it?” I asked him wanting to know who it could have possibly had been if it wasn’t Lena. “We don’t know who she was but we know it wasn’t Lena.” Xavier says and I start shaking my head not understand

  • Immortal Hunger   Chapter 118

Lexie’s POV “Derrick, is everyone okay?” I asked him as I looked at the gate to the packhouse. “Lexie, you shouldn’t be here, its not fully secured yet.” Derrick tells me and I begin to worry what is happening behind that broken down gate. “Have they found Xavier?” I asked him, hoping he would at least know that to tell me. “Yes, he was being held in one of the cabins on the property. He is with Tyler and they are securing the area as we speak.” Derrick told me and I felt a bit of relief wash over me but there was still the fact that I hadn’t heard from Samuel yet. “What about Samuel and my family?” I asked him and I noticed a change in his posture when I mentioned Samuel. “Lexie, I think it would be best if Xavier talks to you.” Derrick says to me and the pain that was there last night overtook me and I knew in my heart that it had to do with Samuel. “I want to speak with Xavier now.” I told Derrick and he began to shake his head no to me. Before he could say a word, I

  • Immortal Hunger   Chapter 117

Lexie’s POV It wasn’t quite morning when I heard Tyler’s voice talking to someone and as I listened, I realized that his men had arrived. Rolling over in the bed I watched him as he was giving the man on the other end of the line orders. He was in his element and he was used to people listening to him, unlike myself. Tyler looked over at the bed and he saw my eyes on him and he quickly finished the call as he walked over to the bed to me. With a groggy morning voice, I asked him, “What time is it?” “It’s almost four am. Why don’t you go back to sleep and I will wake you later.” Tyler said to me as he sat on the edge of the bed and ran his fingers through my hair and I closed my eyes relishing his gentle touch. I knew it was wrong of me to love the feel of it but my body was craving him and what he was doing was innocent or at least that was what I was telling myself. “Will you hold me in your arms again till I fall back to sleep.” I asked him as I curled up in the blanket.
